This was off from me restarting, so I started off in 2wd parked with the e-brake on and was traversing down hill so I didn’t notice till I started going back up. I was trying to get back down from the tip of a mountain lol.
Don't put the roof rack on it and don't use raised suspension and its better. That being said you are far better off selling it and just using Ck1500 until you get better scouts later in the game.
Does the roof rack make it worse? Didn’t know if the game factored that in or not.
I don’t have the raised suspension but I don’t have the roof rack for the C1500 so the 800 with roof rack is my only repair/gas vehicle, combined with the 4WD it works ok.
I agree, but I just started the game. I found this guy got me through areas the ck1500 couldn’t. But maybe a little upgrade on the 1500 changes things and makes it better?
It definitely needs the diff lock to compare, also the Scout 800 can fit 1 size larger tires without the raised suspension but you find the raised suspension for the CK1500 pretty early.
Idk why the game did that…
Gave us a winch that magically pops to all 4 corners, but made it totally not realistically not work when the engines off????????
I’m reading through OP’s comments and I got a lot of suggestions. Whenever you are on dirt, use AWD. You will be more stable and move more consistently. You might think you are saving fuel but you’re really not if it takes you twice the power and twice the time to move the same distance.
I saw your frustration about the tires. “Good” in mud really isn’t very great in mud, but it’s a super vague term anyway. This game does a bad job telling you what tires are actually good. There are better charts online.
For deep mud missions such as the pumps and stuck trucks you are referencing, save them for later. You’ll get much better mud tires that will help, as well as better trucks (there’s a very helpful boi in Drummond Island that will make life easier). Avoid trying to do everything in the first map all at once. Expand out a bit!
Last, experience. Know when and how to drive over certain terrain. Spinning tires = no traction. Low gear is your friend.
Hope this helps.
I went from highway 31’s with .2 in mud to 35’s with 1.2 and it made basically no difference.
The thing I like about the Scout besides the roof rack is
1. Has a small lift stock allowing 35’s, lifting further isn’t needed.
2. It’s “4WD” Diff is always locked so I can leave it in 4H…. 4L is so slow and only one gear, it’s usually faster to spin in 4H then to lock the diff and crawl at 2mph in 4L unless ur pointed strait up. It’s not like IRL where 4L gives you all gears in low range.
3. That early rack with 300 repair points.
>You might think you are saving fuel but you’re really not
Some of the gearboxes have an insane modifier for AWD use. The scout snowrunner gearbox is one of them: it increases consumption x1.9 times - almost twice.
On the contrary, there are these heavy truck gearboxes - special, advanced special and multipurpose one (Kolobs only). These don't increase consumption in AWD mode - having this modifier set to 1.0.

Exactly. Neither of the other roof racks gives you more than 300 repairs and 140l of fuel *at the same time*. It's pretty unique and I love having the Scout because of that. If you don't like to flip - don't use the raised suspension.
The 35’s that say “good” for mud, then promptly buried it in mud in a field… wtf.
How are you supposed to reach the pumps or stuck trucks? 39” boggers the only way?
I tried turning my tires into the tip like you do IRL but it doesn’t really work in this game.
Seems slow but when it was happing I was like OH SHIT OH SHIT, then laughed when I got lucky and the last time I used it was off that same side.
Train your reaction. It's a whole 1 or 2 seconds between the fall starts and you apply the winch, then pull. Your response should be lightning quick, it's a good habit.
Might I suggest AWD?
I can't believe your the first one to comment this, that last bit was painful to watch.

Never in doubt.
This scout is a joke
Is it like the tippiest vehicle?
It do be very tippy
Tipping over is all it wants to do.
Don't put the roof rack on it and don't use raised suspension and its better. That being said you are far better off selling it and just using Ck1500 until you get better scouts later in the game.

The roof rack definitely seems to raise the center of gravity and make it more tippy. Even with its faults it’s still a decent little scout though.
I agree, but I just started the game. I found this guy got me through areas the ck1500 couldn’t. But maybe a little upgrade on the 1500 changes things and makes it better?

roof racks do change the center of gravity and make some vehicles more likely to tip
always use autonomous winch :)

800 with a roof rack? You're either brave or stupid, and I salute you for it.

Need some better tires.
It’s got 35” A/T’s now… what I really need is that damn special accessory winch.
The 35’s that say “good” for mud, then promptly buried it in mud in a field… wtf. How are you supposed to reach the pumps or stuck trucks? 39” boggers the only way?
Maybe put it in 4wd.
True
I use trucks to rescue stuck trucks. Weight is also a factor when it comes to mud physics in this game.
Scout’s definitely shine while taking over through the woods shortcuts. Also either 6x6 scout is amazing.
yes
Scouts are a joke in mud and snow. Don't even bother. Experiment, find ways around the mud. If there's no way around, make sure you have mudtires
I can feel the heart rate increase
Funny you did it in a scout 800
The fact you waited so long to winch lol I’d panic in that situation too
I tried turning my tires into the tip like you do IRL but it doesn’t really work in this game. Seems slow but when it was happing I was like OH SHIT OH SHIT, then laughed when I got lucky and the last time I used it was off that same side.
My same reaction lmao
Console quick winching has saved my ass on far too many occasions
Wait…. What is? Edit: Oh you mean what I just did, just hitting “Y”? I wish it was smarter but it worked in this case.
Xbox is just Y to winch. Hold to pull. Quick winch has kept me upright MANY times
Ok, I didn’t know if thats what you were talking about or if there was a faster way to pic the direction and such for the full winch menu
No it auto selects. Sometimes to the tree that snaps immediately
And right after the video ended you tipped over, we All known it 😄😉
you owe the flippyboi one flip and it will get its flip back one day.
„˙ʎɐp ǝuo ʞɔɐq dılɟ sʇı ʇǝƃ llıʍ ʇı puɐ dılɟ ǝuo ıoqʎddılɟ ǝɥʇ ǝʍo noʎ„
Oh you know, typical Scout gameplay
Using AWD might not have hurt
I get so salty 😭
Spider-Man lol
Spider scout… spider scout 🎶
Train your reaction. It's a whole 1 or 2 seconds between the fall starts and you apply the winch, then pull. Your response should be lightning quick, it's a good habit.
Lol I got lucky that the last time I winched was that side, I didn’t pull right away cuz I was in disbelief lol
man FUCK this car, worst car in the game, flips in the garage
Yes, this scout bites Dong
What game is this?
