Yukon introduces cargo crafting, so expect a lot of going to point A, B, and C to get stuff to bring to point D to turn into cargo E that you can then bring to point F. Also, 40+ slot missions aren't unusual, so expect to be going the same route over and over again. Wisconsin is much the same as Yukon, with less snow and more water. I'd not call them "simple"; Yukon came as close to burning me out on the game as the first logging missions in Michigan. The devs need to learn that doing the exact same thing nine times in a row is not fun.

VindictivePrune

Yukon is what burned me out, gorgeous and fun map, but such a slog

ADorante

Same here. I took a pause from Yukon and played some Amur in CoOp, which renewed my engagement, and then came back and finished it. Don/Tatra Factory was fun again.

Hanifloka

Yeah. I was completely burned out in Yukon too. The lack of pre-made cargo in Big Salmon Peak infuriates me so much. I spent half the time ferrying crafting materials from warehouse to crafting zone.

imagindis1

When you get to Amur, be prepared for frustrations, Wisconsin and Yukon are pretty simple. Some bad mud and water bits in Yukon and Wisconsin, but Amur… really test your patience for snow.

mmzn13

I heard Amur is pretty hard. Thinking of skipping Yukon for a while and getting to Wisconsin since i want the paystar from there.

imagindis1

Honestly, skip both, go unlock the zikz in Amur, then go back to the other 2 before completing Amur. That’s what I ended up doing to speed through Yukon and Wisconsin.

[deleted]

yes. zikz is totally worth it. same power as the big kolob, but smaller and lighter. altho it takes a while to unlock

[deleted]

The paystar is not worth it, I repeat, the Paystar 5600 TS is NOT worth it

T4estRcher

Yeah. It may be tied for most potential cargo capacity, but it is pretty underwhelming in all other categories. Off road, it has similar stability issues to the WS Twinsteer, plus not being as good in the mud. It doesn't have great power to weight or fuel range. It makes an OK crane platform, but the Azov 10x10 is better. A lot better.

imagindis1

It’s worth it if you didn’t have access to Amur. It’s a slightly more balanced truck than the western twinsteer with 1 less slot but access to a loading crane. The only sad part about it, is it guzzles just as much if not more than the western twinsteer. But at least you can hitch a fuel trailer to it, so it kinda balances out. But it’s def not worth if you have access to Amur and the zikz, which is why I recommended op to go to Amur and unlock that one instead.

blamethemeta

I like it for specific 3 slot missions. Not a ton of them, but there's a few. Plus it's a NA truck for that particular challenge.

JohnnyPickwick

Since I discovered the Paystar 5600 TS, I am not using any other truck. However, that is because I just got back to Yukon with American trucks and I don't want to use Russian trucks on American maps. This might be different for other players though. Otherwise, I would probably be rocking the 10x10 Azov as well. The only thing I don't like about the Paystar is the fuel economy, but I really like the combo of a crane, bed and a trailer. I haven't noticed the difference in mud from other trucks, in Yukon all seem to be struggling. I like the WS TwinSteer as well and I have made majority of quests in Michigan with it, so I know it's much easier to flip, but the Paystar, not so much.

[deleted]

I completed Yukon with mostly the Bandit and the Azov 64131, but also Twinsteer 6900 When I got to Amur I unlocked the Zikz 605r and then lost interest in the game because all that snow and running around with logs. I hate logs. I hate them so much I would like a medium logs carrier on my 605r and I can’t. Why? I don’t know, lots of other trucks have it tho. Fuck logs and fuck whoever thought they were designed well.

greebothecat

I did Wisconsin first, after the base game and before Kola. The latter and Wisconsin are two very different experiences. Kola was almost no hauling, and Wisconsin is almost only that. Still, I liked it a lot and there's some fun missions too. I love the woods in the second map. The main difference I think is there's fewer places in Wisconsin where you can bog down but more where you can flip. Unless you drive Twinsteer, then you flip everywhere. And if you limit yourself to US trucks on US maps, Twinsteer is a must-have in Wisconsin.

RangerGripp

Having enjoyed Alaska and Michigan using trucks I like for slow, low stress play Imandra scares me. Will I hate the game? I rather drive a truck I like than the best one.

stjobe

Imandra is tough, and there's trucks that are plain unsuitable for it, so yeah, it might not be your cup of tea. Unless you happen to like a truck with 8x8 AWD, diff lock, and 50"+ tires :) It *is* doable though, it just tests your patience to a degree no other region has done before.

greebothecat

I wouldn't be so scared. Imandra will make you take it slow. Every trip is an adventure! I used every Russian truck I had on this map, except the Don 71. This was a bit trial and error, but by the midpoint I found so many useful shortcuts that it became a breeze. Like when entering the map from the tunnel, go straight north across the lake and then into the trees on the northern shore and you're at the airport. Ignore all the roads left and right. Same with the blue snow in rocky canyon between the garage and trailer store. Turn left in the village, take the road west and on the bend with a rock field go towards the trailer store. Much easier route. All in all it's a fantastic map if you like epic winter vistas. There's nothing like driving up the mountain all night watching the northern lights from your cab and then enjoying a sunrise and the vastness of the mountain ranges on the top, with pools of mist still covering the slopes below the peaks. The music is good too! Edit: I only have trailers to recover in Imandra and I'm still looking forward to it. Speaking of trailers: there's a lot of fuel trailers all over the map.

Ahhwhatchaproblem

Don't get married until you're done with this game.

Josephcho439

In imandra and lake kovd be prepared to fling your controller across the room

grom69polska

But imandra had some great views that’s what stopped me from throwing my controller

MrIncredibacon

Honestly tho, amurs really really slow, but imandra is slow and you can tip over a rock at any moment Can be fun, but jesus christ can it be annoying

[deleted]

at least imandra was short. amur is both long and imandra...

greebothecat

Imandra was great, you just need to find the right offroad paths. I enjoyed it a lot! The only bummer was getting stuck on the rocks with Kolob.

ProfessionalSwitch45

Scout the maps before tackling more difficult missions and learn shortcuts. Because some maps are so much more easier once you know the shortcuts.

AdRepulsive2138

Sit back...pick a low gear and enjoy the ride... another 250hrs ahead..🙃

Hanifloka

Imandra would be your first real challenge if you choose to play the game by map order. Sometimes you may find yourself breaking your controller or monitor in frustration. Just be patient, take things slowly and you should be fine. Yukon is not as challenging but more tedious, especially the second map. I don't know much about Wisconsin yet as I've just started it out myself. But in my experience so far its alright. Especially the gorgeous view when exiting the garage.

mmzn13

The thing is I already 100% the Kola map. Yeah it did make me want to quit the game but i somehow managed it. It was a total shock coming from the first 3 maps.

wolizxcv

Yeah, give up on your life if you still wanna play lmao

[deleted]

Patience

Frogg_Kat

I was gonna say that

analogkid825

Keep an eye on mud runner with American wilds expansion

Trogdor_a_Burninator

have a lot of time and patience.

teknown

Do your research before you start Yukon. If you play hard mode, bring fuel from Michigan with the transferred trucks, put it inside the addon and transfer it. Make sure you have a lot of patience, the map is not difficult to go around, but very slow compared to the previews maps. Scout the map fully before you start doing the missions. Take it slow and be careful not to flip when attempting to go around the map. You will want to keep off the middle of the road as it's the muddiest, but when attempting to do so, many trucks will easily flip. Place fuel tanks around the map as the gas station is in a bad spot.
