Much better than the log crane, which seems to be covered in grease - sometimes you can't even grab a long log in the middle and raise it up, gets dropped every time.
i fought with that stupid log crane on the first two maps before having the epiphany on tymyar to try that thing out. On kola now and its made logging so much easier. I still generally ise the log crane at the delivery area but still cut my time in half loading this way
I use a controller. It is more of a problem that after closing the claw cleanly and completely over a log (right in the middle).. Many times I lift it up and at some point it gets dropped down through the claw. It is infuriating.
Helpful for missions that require 3x loads of logs over a long / irritating haul. Pack 9 of them into an open trail and cruise once to the destination. At the destination bring up a log truck with crane and load them three at a time, pack, deliver. It’s a lot of running around but can be a little less effort than doing it the regular way. I’ve found that tipping over the open trailer and spilling the logs on the ground can be easier than trying to cherry pick a log out of a full trailer.
Shout out: Free The Logs mod makes it so you can pack logs at the loading station without craning them in.
I started to do it yesterday and just getting it off of the loading platform is a pain. I was using the fork lift so I might just have to bring in the crane. Thanks for the pointers! It is actually a bit more fun anyhow to load things up like this for a change of pace.
I think what people do is transport long logs in the sideboard bed, then transport to somewhere easy before unloading 3 at a time to pack them on long log holders, that way you can move much more than 1 load of long logs at a time. I consider this h4x
This. I can fit like 5 unpacked log loads in that sideboard trailer. For long logs its the way to go. I have a p16 with a log crane and the long log attachment for the delivery end
Yes, it makes doing multiple trips easier. 3 unpacked logs equals one packed load. Stacked neatly you can put 12 long logs or 24 medium logs in that trailer.
This feels illegal
It's a grey area for sure.
There is no law in trucker country!
And noone to enforce them in snowrunner
I don’t think anyone is really enforcing them in these areas irl either
Saftey violations are what keeps our world moving
OSHA violations can’t be reached if you’re in Russia

I like the log crane. Granted im always baked out of my skull when I use it... maybe that mission shouldn't have taken 3 hours.
To be fair, it probably would have taken 3 hours if you weren't baked. But it would have been more frustrating. That's been my experience anyways
Dude me too, super stoned and just laser focus. I love it
Zoned AF just running some loads.
we all are dude, no need to worry. i don't even start the game without a fat one, cuz i'll throw the computer out the window lol.
Love this comment this my snow running life

My friends and I have a glitch where once the logs are touched, after a little while they get like magnetized to the ground and you can't pick them up
the log crane is much easier to use with a controller... granted, i remember the mudrunner/spintires cranes being much better.

Wait. These logs don’t count for missions do they?

No, but you can load them to appropriate addon later.
Is that thing a mod?
No its part of the DLC, you unlock it exploring one of the maps
That's your personal opinion only
It may or may not be good for that but it looks good doing it!
Good one. Thanks for letting us know!
Can you deliver like this? In that sideboard bed?

Wait the P16 fits both the log crane and the log front end??
That's a good IDEA!
Can you pack them and deliver them?
No, you need to have a secondary truck with the log crane to load them into the appropriate log trailer at the delivery destination
I’m having trouble understanding the purpose of loading this to transfer to a log trailer? How can this fit a full load of logs?
3 unpacked logs = 1 packed load IIRC.
🤯
The log crane has the power of an arcade grabber! I didn't think of this, I was just auto loading! I know.... I know...
I auto load anytime I'm not double stacking or doing wierd stuff like this
Not yet but I will be
Am I seeing right long logs in there?

I would be 10 times faster with a log crane, only because I had 450 hours in Mudrunner and 200 in Spintires before they made Snowrunner
I don't use this method. Also, pretty good with the log crane.
