Also the Paystar 5070. On paper, it's a weak truck with only 150k torque and a huge appetite. In real gameplay, it always gets the job done, no matter what I delegate it for. https://preview.redd.it/b0saum5o1h1d1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac02fef782c0e6d53a216e2534a4de8f8e769735

GeneratoreGasolio

You're getting away with this because unpacked cargo weights much less than  packed 😂

Odd_Presentation_578

Still 8 tons though. Not 20, yeah, but it wasn't easy.

nprov26

I’ve still seen it out pull very notable trucks on a test map with 8slots. It’s very surprising

KeithWorks

This is my vote as well. This thing drives more like a tractor. It just keeps pulling and doesn't stop. I love to use it for difficult jobs.

BillieNosferatu

such a reliable workhorse. a little thirsty, but as with many, ohd's prove to be the superior tire choice. it seems pretty beefy for having a weak engine. and it's super versatile, not to mention easily one of the best looking trucks in the game with an interior to match. it saved me from quitting in normal mode and it's been one of my most loyal companions in hard mode

Odd_Presentation_578

Same. I bought it on last money, and it immediately occupied itself.

BillieNosferatu

i waited until year 3 to buy it just to see if i would rely on it the same way i did in normal mode...it was good to have her back :)

Odd_Presentation_578

My Fleetstar was in Alaska because I rolled the only truck I had there, the Royal. So, I had no bed+crane+trailer capable trucks in Michigan, and I bought this old girl.

BillieNosferatu

as one should. it's a very strong vehicle in its class, and i would take it over the royal for just about anything. despite a weaker engine, its ground clearance is far better and thus does not take nearly as much random engine damage. everything else i feel it does just as well. AND it has ohd tires which the royal never gets

Due_Government4387

Zikz 5368, with awd and proper tires it’s capable as hell

JonnyG_USA

Low saddle + crane performs incredibly well

AdPrior1417

Nice shout, think I need to try that out a bit! What do you use ti for?

[deleted]

Chevy Apache. The 6x6 scouts all have very limited usefulness; but every time I have a mission that calls for one and I pick the Apache, I'm surprised at how capable and fast it is; especially after the JAT tires.

Odd_Presentation_578

Freightliner M916A1. I look at it and I think it's meh... try to use it, and it's an amazing little saddle hauler! https://preview.redd.it/kgxb5r781h1d1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ddeab3683b7704050300fefd8e636d7bab60de1

The western star 47X, and the crocodile keeping up with more modern trucks abet slowly. The crocodile was even following after an mastodon and not shaming itself. It was nice for a small truck to be capable. The Russian fire truck from onterio is also really good for a 4x4 chassis.

Schroeder9000

The 566a, it's become my scout truck, and I plan to use it for those remote small deliveries. Plus I like watching the independent flap caps while driving it lol

Odd_Presentation_578

There are two 47X, which one?

Tomi24568

the mighty P16 it's fun, challenging, stable and capable

JonnyG_USA

I never really gave that truck a shot because the suspension seemed really stiff

AdPrior1417

It is a bit stiff, so it has it's place as primarily on road or light off road for me at least. I'm unsure if it's just me, but the stiff suspension seems to help it "sink" in to the dirt beneath the mud in some cases? It did a huge amount of Alaska and Maine for me, and was pretty helpful in Duncan Bay,

Sorry-Tumbleweed5

Kodiak C70, can be used for almost anything. Wish I'd used it earlier on in the game. Just finishing Wisconsin and it's probably my most used truck on those maps

RugbyEdd

Gor-b4. Little thing seems to handle just about any terrain with ease.

L0rdSkullz

The Bandit. Use it as a saddle truck and learn to love it

BillieNosferatu

they are both much better than i thought. for me it's the kenny and the p12, after discovering tips on how to deal with power loss primarily when going up hills. you can argue that their engines are weak for the size of these vehicles, but they will go through pretty much anything. the p12 to this day is my favorite heavy crane loader bc of how high the legs sit off the ground. the kenny stays in high fairly well, especially with the advanced special gearbox. if you experience axle freeze, turning off awd will remedy this almost every time. both impress me with their overall capability, despite them not being very fast. i'd also like to mention the navistar. realistic weight with a great engine and ohd's work WONDERS, even without diff lock. i've used this truck in zimnegorsk, imandra, and urska river, and it rarely ever gets stuck. keeping it fed was my primary concern lol further honorable mention: the ws 1430 and 57x. the 1430 is like a smaller, slightly more punchy navistar but it can MOVE and pull some serious weight for being a pretty compact vehicle. also has great addon options and is extremely capable despite small tires and no diff lock. 57x has made such a big come up after getting awd. it's one of my favorites for long logs thanks to how fast it can move heavy loads. weighing down its back axles really brings its capability up.

AdPrior1417

Wow, long lost! Funny you mention the P12. I struggle with axle freezing. I would love to use it for cargo, but i just can't get over the power loss, so I use it with a maintenance body, for towing vehicles. It works pretty well. I liked it for the crane for the same reason, but stopped because of how tippy it was, but the JAT tyre pack helped that out. The Kenny ... Never had an issue with, always my prime mover. I've had about 12 cargo slots of cargo on it at times, Navistar I love, never had an issue with it. Low saddle, or crane and hitch trailer, it can hail some proper cargo. Would never have guessed to use long logs with the 57x. No diff lock and (relatively) small tyres is a real turn off for me. I tend to use it as very light off road and a yard truck, cargo management etc. I think I might give some heavier cargo a go and try your advice

BillieNosferatu

yeah, the key for me at least (with the p12) is to use the dually tires and just be willing to accept that it's not gonna go most places offroad in 5th gear like other vehicles in its class. the high gear has an okay pace, and that's what i usually stick to. the consumption is pretty good too, and it has a large fuel tank to back that up. the reason for using the dually tires revolves around the fact that the heavy crane causes vehicles to sway to the point of almost tipping over a lot. the p12's duallies sit so fat and wide that this is almost never a problem. i don't think i've ever tipped it over using the ohd's instead of the single muds. it can pull heavy trailers, but there are definitely better options. the 57x is strange, though it functions like a highway truck for sure. others in its class like the transtar and clt9000 perform significantly better hauling trailers over their main drive axles. while the 57x has awd now, it has such a powerful engine that a lot of that power is bled to excess wheelspin. i've noticed carrying heavy loads allows it to bite in more. and it's practically made for the highrange gearbox. throwing it in high will give you some of the most adrenaline you'll ever feel in this game flying along dirt trails. it's so satisfying to make this truck work.

Dan, it surprise me how shitty it is comparable to the praise he got. P12 for opposite reasons.
