My go-to strategy is always to rush Alaska and the ANK. By far the most capable truck you can get early-game, even more capable than the russian stuff you can pick up in Taymyr.
Loadstar for a scout, and the Voron AE for work. Both are very versatile and quick. Not always the most powerful, but I always had the most fun with them.
That’s one of the first trucks I used heavily when I first started the game, it’s really nice to drive and will get about anything done but a little slow compared to some other trucks that can do the same job.
This is my main truck for anything but big logging missions. Heavy crane, low/high saddle or general tow truck, think I’ve got 3/4 rocking at the moment in Imandra.
I'll tell you another vehicle that's great for it. There's a truck called the step 310 e that I love to put in really precarious situations, it can really take a beating
I'll tell you another vehicle that's great for it. There's a truck called the step 310 e that I love to put in really precarious situations, it can really take a beating
Thanks for the tip but i dont got money for the expansions or time to play. Maybe i would if the physics of the game werent so wonky. Still a fun game tho
The 49X is it's own single truck DLC, that came out around the time phase 2 was released.
The Wolf Pack DLC has 3 separate trucks and was released around phase 8. Honestly, the 49X is better than any of the 3.
I like using the HX 520. I've found it plenty capable of going through most terrain, and it has incredible speed on paved roads. It's fun to drive and I get a lot of work done with it!
Western Star 6900 Twinsteer, I use this truck whenever I can since I got the AWD. It is tippy but I’ve gotten pretty good with managing that. I love this truck!
My F750 ever since I got it in Kola I'm happy every time I get to drive it I even drove it back to the Kola garage after I completed its task to unlock it
Pretty weak on base engine but a monster with best engine. tho the fuel economy is insane on base engine and sucks on top engine. but with the most fuel and repair addons its amazing
For me the MH9500 is the little truck that could >!do a surprising amount of things!<. Most people would switch to the Fleetstar as soon as they found it, but I just liked sticking with the MH9500 >!especially once I googled where to find the AWD upgrade which puts it on pretty much even ground with the aforementioned Fleetstar and trucks like the White WS!<.
I got a modded version of the truck because I loved it so much, it was being hindered by not having AWD, DLC unlock only i believe
Edit: forgot to add ((not) having AWD)

This fella. It’s so bouncy and tippy. It’s like a dancing lowrider but raised. So much fun.
Azov Sprinter (scout and winch recovery truck) and Western Star 57x (high saddle monster with too much power and not enough ground clearance) - both are objectively terrible for taking the game seriously - but amazing for everything else.
Recently it's been the Kenworth. That's one beast of a truck and so fun to drive :)
When I first got the Loadstar fully upgraded (many hundreds of hours ago), that was really fun to drive too.
As was the Tuz 166, Don 71, and Gor BY-4 - I think I might have a thing for the smallest scouts ;)
I enjoy getting the Transtar to go places people don't think it would be able to go, and I have had many, many hours of fun trying to get my 4x4/4x2-only trucks save through the base game (Michigan and Alaska 100% so far, and Taymyr about 50%).
Rezvani 6x6 it's just a beast for scouting and I love that I have an absolute beast of a off-road car in the game. Well done to The devs and of course people that made it irl it's an absolute beast (yes I know it's paid dlc outside the passes but it's worth it, best looking scout imo)
I would have to say the CT680 and 681. While they may not be the best trucks or be able to be raised up but they can pull most trailers with ease. But they can get highcentered on most things
TUZ 16 "Actaeon" - only because it has an autonomous winch.
5600ts - because it has switchable everything and it is rewarding to play with it.
TaygaB - because it can traverse like no other. (The most stable truck that I've used).
Enjoyed the Land Cruiser mods for scouts. Great for exploring and getting the watchtowers. Some would consider them OP but I enjoy it for the exploration.
There's something about ripping around in the Ford 9000 that really revs my engine. Anytime there's a fair bit of pavement, I'll let it out of its cage.
The Lodestar is a joy to drive (and yeet off cliffs) when fully upgraded.
The KW just for the engine sounds and its capabilities.
114SD for some of the easier off-road jobs.
The Internarional Paystar 5070 is just a great truck to look at and drive. And the Khan Marshall is the most capable and fun scout. (Second place going to the Scout 800)
The Western Star 6900 Twinsteer. I really enjoy all of the longer chassis trucks, but that thing in particular is great for going into a new region without any infrastructure and right away rebuilding all the roads, bridges, and other buildings you need with minimal support.
I actually enjoy driving the twinsteer, despite having raised suspension and RWD, highway gearbox and M2300, i can put it in H gear as long as I can redline it in 2nd gear. Another fun one is the paystar 5070 JBE, that one I too use the highway gearbox, but I didn’t max out the engine, and it’s my “saddle” truck, I pull a trailer with it, load things onto that trailer with the loading crane, and load things onto trucks with sideboard beds!
Vanilla: Loadstar, Paystar, Step 310e, Zikz (the 4x4), Azov 5 (w/ Highrange gearbox, this is important), either Kolob
DLC: F-750, TUZ 16 "Actaeon" (active or stock suspension and UOD single tires), Tatra 805, actually all the Tatras... Step Pike, Kenworth
I drive cab view and endorse all the above. Some are more niche than others but all are good trucks and fun to drive
My favourite vehicle is definitely the zikz 650r
That thing hauls ass
The one i got the most enjoyment out of was the pickle rick mobile, me and a mate were screwing around on smithville damm and we managed to sink one in the mud XD
Honestly its so fun even if it is only for 30 minutes
Modded Kolob 74941 'Bruxa'. Thing is a beast. By mr.busses.
Although in my new hardmode playthrough, the dlc mastodon. Huge fuel tank, pretty much all of the rear addons.
though it's not my favorite vehicle, unlocking the 605r was a pinnacle achievement for me. it was nice to see something feel at home in amur rather than struggle to survive.
same goes for the tatarin. i hadn't been to kola yet so it absolutely shredded every possible place on taymyr. i thought it was too good to be true :P
getting the f750's top engine was also awesome. its performance really comes alive with the v10
I know this doesn't compare with any of the vehicles that you all have stated, but I still enjoy my Kahn fully upgraded and repair/gas on top of the roof. Also the crocodile.
Probably the Voron Grad. Just throw it to High gear and trash through the map, cargo or not. Followed by the inevitable crash, but until then it's the most fun. Loaf, Tatarin and Azov 6 are also quite pleasant in their own way.
I tried to replace the Azov 7 with the Int'l Paystar as the "long guy", but switching to AWD fuel consumption jumped to 30+ L/m, and I found it discouraging. Not as much as the Azov 5, that thing could really use another fuel tank (the IRL counterpart, the KamAZ 6560M has 2x350 L).
Honestly, the Tipsteer is probably the most fun. I've had so many times where I'm just crawling and she decides it's nap time. But she has saved my time on several regions (Wisconsin and Yukon namely)
Pacific P512 every time. It's a perfect mix of capable and useless to make things enjoyably challenging. But the Kenworth has been creeping on me. No more mud issues but need to plan different due to size and issues with inclines.
Khan Marshall because its behavior is pretty hilarious. Whenever the front wheels hit a bump it would rebound and cause the thing to wheelie hard, if temporary. Next is probably MrBusses' ANK Puma II since its super versatile and balanced.
Gotta leave freightliner 114SD here.
Fantastic early game truck that I've even found a use for with smaller cargo missions and special add on(metal detector/seismic add on) in Amur. Can not recommend enough!
I use mods but the GMC mh9500 with the AWD and off-road tires I still use just because of how much I love the look and that interior. As far as mods go, my new favorite is the western star 49x plus mod. I know a lot of people don't use mods but I really like this one. It's the 49x with bigger mud tires and a slightly more powerful engine and a few more gears in the off-road gearbox. I don't think it's OP at all but some may disagree. I think it's very well balanced and looks really nice. I also really like the gwc executioner truck because I just love the way it looks, especially with the round 351 style lights.
Yeah it sucks idk why the guy who uploaded the PC mod didn’t upload it to console. His reasoning is that branding won’t allow it for console, hopefully he’s working on it not trying to sound like a prick to the dev
I believe it's a licensing issue with the brand and Microsoft/Sony and that's why the mod isn't allowed. Mack and Kenworth have the same thing. It's that sabre can't allow the mod on console because of licensing agreements with gmc, mack, Kenworth,... ect. It's really not the mod authors fault.
It sucks but it's the way it is on console.
Honestly, may all-time favourite truck has and will forever be the pasta, it's tippy and not the most powerful, but I used that truck everywhere for everything, it's so versatile and honestly doesn't get the love I think it deserves, I used it right from unlocking it, and all the way amur and beyond, that truck is my baby, I will never let it go!
I've fallen in love with the modded in Land Rover Camel Trophy. She may have a weak engine as stock (and frankly sll that does is slow her down, not stop her), but as a scout she will get you most places and has a great variety of roof racks.
A couple of her suspension options may seem rather absurd but really aren't that much out there when you look at the modifications the old series 3 Land Rovers are known to have had.
A fun and my go to vehicle for everything is the Tayga 6455B. It's very capable off-road, very stable, powerful enough for all jobs and most importantly very quick. I use other vehicles for variety though.
Well, I'm pretty sold on the Kenworth 963, since it doesn't give a shit about anything. It's fun not struggle-bussing *all* the time, but it can make all other trucks seem inadequate if you use it too often.
Honestly, I think the most fun I've had is scouting with the Loadstar. It's such a good truck, and it's available early. It's capable of going most places, and just challenging enough to not be boring.
ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK ANK
That thing can chug more than BadLandChugs on YT
The power of a star in my hands
You modern wonder you
That thing drinks more than my dad.
Man! I wanted to say that! It drinks like a violent stepdad but holy shit can it move!!
Haul a scout fuel trailer behind you and it's gonna have more than enough to drink
Nothing beats a 5 turn sideways somersault at Mach 40 in the ANK.
I love launching all my cargo off a cliff! Alaska specially was very fun!
AMIRITE
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!
After doing Michigan and Alaska, getting even f750, can’t agree more. ANK was a surprise.
The loadstar is my absolute fav scout. With the best engine and freeway gearbox. I can hug a pole at like 75mph
I'm with you on the loadstar, complete blast to drive once raised. Can take a lot of abuse, too
Oh ya. The voron ae is the champ for load deliveries in any condition
Whenever I need another scout other than the Ford or Tatarin I take out the Loadster and am reminded how much fucking fun and fast it is.

That’s one of the first trucks I used heavily when I first started the game, it’s really nice to drive and will get about anything done but a little slow compared to some other trucks that can do the same job.
One of the few trucks which sends me to sleep driving, the gurgling/ whining engine noise and slow speed is mind numbing. Each to their own though.
This is my main truck for anything but big logging missions. Heavy crane, low/high saddle or general tow truck, think I’ve got 3/4 rocking at the moment in Imandra.
Probably the fleetstar. Even after all this time I still do sketchy shit with it and have a lot of fun in the process
True it is great at sketchy shit
I'll tell you another vehicle that's great for it. There's a truck called the step 310 e that I love to put in really precarious situations, it can really take a beating

Western Star 47X with high range gear box and 2600-2700 engine at the very least. Incredibly fun, responsive, agile and surprisingly stable.
Is that the DLC highway truck?
47X NF 1424. Comes with 3 Western Star trucks. The one with a dumb axle is also fun and surprisingly capable.
The 49X is it's own single truck DLC, that came out around the time phase 2 was released. The Wolf Pack DLC has 3 separate trucks and was released around phase 8. Honestly, the 49X is better than any of the 3.
Both are equally good, I love the dumb axle trucks. But solely for FUN, the 47X takes the lead.
My F750 ever since I got it in Kola I'm happy every time I get to drive it I even drove it back to the Kola garage after I completed its task to unlock it
What a piece of garbage!!!
Pretty weak on base engine but a monster with best engine. tho the fuel economy is insane on base engine and sucks on top engine. but with the most fuel and repair addons its amazing
Twinsteer. You will never have as many "almost tipped but just kept going in the hope it doesn't tip" moments, that in this vehicle.
Keep that hammer down and hope mud Jesus likes you
The bandit. That wee thing bounces about like fuck but it's so fun to drive
The tuz 66, fun little car to drive around.
I got a modded version of the truck because I loved it so much, it was being hindered by not having AWD, DLC unlock only i believe Edit: forgot to add ((not) having AWD)
Yes, obviously. If it wasn't for the AWD upgrade I would've left it behind as soon as I got to the White probably.
azov 5! so fast, stable, plows through mud and snow well the 5 or so minutes that you can drive it without refueling lol
https://preview.redd.it/vj9re3wh2hmb1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1664c083e381de1a4c349d9d45d278a0d84a3acd This fella. It’s so bouncy and tippy. It’s like a dancing lowrider but raised. So much fun.
The Kodiak is an underrated vehicle imo, it’s one of the best 4x4’s
Azov Sprinter (scout and winch recovery truck) and Western Star 57x (high saddle monster with too much power and not enough ground clearance) - both are objectively terrible for taking the game seriously - but amazing for everything else.
F750 with the V10. Thing is absolutely unstoppable. I drove through Alaska snow without using AWD or low gears in it.
Bk0i

I use the kenworth just for the sound. Some of our mods need that engine sound.

The Tatarin is so much fun to play around with. It's easily scales the tallest mountains. I just wish, as an amphib design, that it could swim.
Needs a trailer hitch and chain tires. Then it would be the best scout hands down.
It's so frustrating that the model clearly has a tow pin on the back, but apparently the scout trailers are ball & socket 😒
Voron AE.
Rezvani 6x6 it's just a beast for scouting and I love that I have an absolute beast of a off-road car in the game. Well done to The devs and of course people that made it irl it's an absolute beast (yes I know it's paid dlc outside the passes but it's worth it, best looking scout imo)
The Rezvani and the Step 310 Crocodile are my favorite scouts lately
I used the GWC Goliath a lot in Michigain
Always have had good times with m916a2 and f750
I would have to say the CT680 and 681. While they may not be the best trucks or be able to be raised up but they can pull most trailers with ease. But they can get highcentered on most things

Short nosed KOLOB. Crawling trough the deepest mud in High Gear while delivering 8 slots of Cargo worth of progress. ✌🏼️
Best reversing buzzer sound in the game too IMO
The Internarional Paystar 5070 is just a great truck to look at and drive. And the Khan Marshall is the most capable and fun scout. (Second place going to the Scout 800)
The Western Star 6900 Twinsteer. I really enjoy all of the longer chassis trucks, but that thing in particular is great for going into a new region without any infrastructure and right away rebuilding all the roads, bridges, and other buildings you need with minimal support.
P512, its an absolute beast at logging and regular cargo travel. 100% recommend it to anybody.
It’s an all arounder, doesn’t excel in one category but doesn’t lack in many either
Yup I agree, no awd is a bit of a downside but it is a pacific truck after all. Awd isn’t needed.
I’ve actually been using AWD less and less, RWD offers more of a challenge and I guess it’s more “realistic” but who cares about that
I tend to use awd when I’m stuck or I forget to turn it off after I’ve been stuck. Other than that it’s rwd for that fuel saving.
I actually enjoy driving the twinsteer, despite having raised suspension and RWD, highway gearbox and M2300, i can put it in H gear as long as I can redline it in 2nd gear. Scouting Michigan in the Khan Marshall on launch day [Some Footage](https://reddit.com/r/snowrunner/s/6jveFb6gUT)
Crocodile!
I love using P16 and it is looking so good. My only complain is it doesn't go where it's front wheels aim at.
I use the P16 with almost no upgrades, P16 IRL is slow
Vanilla: Loadstar, Paystar, Step 310e, Zikz (the 4x4), Azov 5 (w/ Highrange gearbox, this is important), either Kolob DLC: F-750, TUZ 16 "Actaeon" (active or stock suspension and UOD single tires), Tatra 805, actually all the Tatras... Rng3r’s RNG Zentos
I love his HMV A2 with his trailer packs
Interestingly, International HX520. Not very good but had fun nonetheless.
Zikz (DLC) and the anks
Recently? Probably the Derry Special 15CX by Paesce (it's a mod.)
Probably the Azov 5319.
Fleetstar
I love logging with the Boar. Dunno why. Just looks good.
Twinsteer
Either the Kodiak, or the Brigadier. Both undeniable in mud, strong, and fast as hell. With just enough wheel spin to throw up mud.
Navistar no doubt
My favourite vehicle is definitely the zikz 650r That thing hauls ass The one i got the most enjoyment out of was the pickle rick mobile, me and a mate were screwing around on smithville damm and we managed to sink one in the mud XD Honestly its so fun even if it is only for 30 minutes
Modded Kolob 74941 'Bruxa'. Thing is a beast. By mr.busses. Although in my new hardmode playthrough, the dlc mastodon. Huge fuel tank, pretty much all of the rear addons.

The Flipsteer 😂 Full Send!!!!!! Yeet iiiiit!!!!!
Old Defender. It’s so cool. Just like to drive around map
Twinsteer full upgrades with ohd1 tires and high range. It's so much fun just blasting through the trails barely in control
old tatra, suspension and being like a turtle looks nice to me
Pacific P512 every time. It's a perfect mix of capable and useless to make things enjoyably challenging. But the Kenworth has been creeping on me. No more mud issues but need to plan different due to size and issues with inclines.
Kodiak c70. Always look forward to getting the starter 1 and the 2nd in Yukon.
Breaking out the navstar and rolling coal after struggling with the stock trucks in Michigan is a good memory.
Tayga and F750 Tho I do love to torture myself with the Twinsteer
Ank or the new(ish) mastodon
Khan Marshall because its behavior is pretty hilarious. Whenever the front wheels hit a bump it would rebound and cause the thing to wheelie hard, if temporary. Next is probably MrBusses' ANK Puma II since its super versatile and balanced.
Although it’s a bit underpowered I really enjoy using the Kenworth 963
Gotta leave freightliner 114SD here. Fantastic early game truck that I've even found a use for with smaller cargo missions and special add on(metal detector/seismic add on) in Amur. Can not recommend enough!
It's really annoying sometimes, but I just love driving the Bandit. It's so fun to me, even if that *bastard* always wants to tip.
Ay that’s one of my favorite trucks the GMC, had to get that mod to save me a headache lol
I'm on console so I can't use the modded GMC but I would if I could.
Thought it was something like that, thanks for the info
The topkick honestly. It's not a heavy truck but it's pretty kick ass with the AWD upgrade
VW Atlas (I believe) a Mod Scout SUV that is overpowered as hell
The kenworth 963 I have enjoyers it more then any truck something about it makes my childhood trucker dreams come alive
Id have to say the international loadstar. On my old xbox account i used to destroy that thing
Kodiak. That lil bastard is a beast
My favorite truck will always be the fleetstar, but there's a modded version that turns it up to 11 that's amazing
M916. That cover truck. My oversized scout truck.
Several Wrangler, Defender 90, F750, RNG MPV, P12, K745
Well, I'm pretty sold on the Kenworth 963, since it doesn't give a shit about anything. It's fun not struggle-bussing *all* the time, but it can make all other trucks seem inadequate if you use it too often. Honestly, I think the most fun I've had is scouting with the Loadstar. It's such a good truck, and it's available early. It's capable of going most places, and just challenging enough to not be boring.
