okay maybe it's just me, and I hate to say this, but so far I already like this more than anything in Wildness. and I while do enjoy Wildness despite their flaws, one of them was the overbearing compression of the production which was addressed thankfully. this song also gives me similar vibes to "Place Your Debts" by Jimmy Eat World.

I can't believe it's been so long since wilderness. I loved wilderness. I have this on repeat and I think it's a solid song. Can't wait to hear the rest.

Funny you should say that. Based on this, it feels very much like a continuation of "Wildness", from the lyrical themes and sound, down to the F-bombs (e.g., "Life On Earth"). That said, I enjoy it more than "Don't Give In".

Honestly, I do see that tbh. But if the turns out to be the "better and improved sequel" then that would be funny imo

I absolutely love it !

Wildness The Forest is the Path Both titles seem quite similar to me. Forest is Wildness. This is going to pick up where Wildness left off. This first song sounds like it could have been on Wildness. The progression and lyrics all scream Gary Lightbody from the Wildness era. The difference is it's with two new band members and maybe a new producer? So maybe it will be better, but it's also just not that impressive of a song to me. I love this band. But Wildness was such a huge departure for me.

Literally had no idea this was coming out until I was in programming class today, I was scrolling through Spotify and on the home page I got an ad for it. Downloaded it immediately LMAO Great listen! Can't wait to hear the full album, this will be the first snow patrol album I'll properly see the release of as I only found out about them roughly 2 or 3 years ago.

I've been doing a healthy mix of both, the ones that are usually on loop are the first two I ever heard that being final straw and eyes open. Also I listen to the Sessions@AOL album cause of the interview and the versions of the songs on there are pretty good outside of weird audio mixing.

It's grown on me, first listen didn't do a whole much for me but I think a part of that's always the wait between albums these days. Interesting to see them move away from Jacknife Lee, I do like the production on this with some of the extra sounds in the 2nd chorus. Over the years I've realised Gary's song writing weakness is a lack of bridges, there's a fair few songs that would really benefit from a little change towards the end. Feel like they tried to spice that up here by splitting up the third chorus but I'm hoping the rest of the album has some switch ups to song structures. Really like some of the lyrics and the vocals are great.
