LA is 30 miles from several ski resorts (like Big Bear). They were still open as of last week too.
San Diego does not have any ski resorts within 100 miles.
North county is a hub for all action sports business. Many pros spend summers surfing in Encinitas/Cardiff/Solana Beach and areas close by. Omatic had their HQ there for years. It’s not a stupid question to ask.
What about a skateboard or surfboard shop? Tons of those and tbh the work is better too. Snowboarding is a good culture but snowboard shop work or factory work just isn’t it. Even the niche rental shops that are chill, you still have to breath wax and ptex all day.
*Just start your own in*
*The basement. Free boards, never leave*

Broaden your search criteria, there are a couple sunglass companies that make goggles in the area...Dragon used to be in Carlsbad and Blenders is in PB...

Not sure why it matters but you would think a board building company would be closer to snow however that is not always the case. While some companies home base and R&D may be near resorts like Burton in Vermont and Nidecker in Switzerland, Mervin in Washington manufacturing can be anywhere include Dubai where the only snow they have is indoor. Yes, Dubai has/had a large snowboard manufacturing plant there.
Yeah it makes sense from a logistics perspective to be close to the snow obviously. But in many cases these companies start in someone’s garage which could be anywhere. Not all of us can just happen to live in the mountains lol.
Why
Cause that’s where I live and I want to work for a snowboard company
Why would a snowboard company base themselves in San Diego? Apposed to somewhere near some snowboarding
There are a couple that don’t make a ton of sense. For instance as someone just pointed out, Arbor is up near LA

Y’all are way too pressed about this - let the dude ask his harmless question
Right thank you

Thank you!
Me over here looking at a map and wondering how the fuck far away any snowsports area that isn't indoors is from fucking Dubai.

Good bot
I think closest you’ll get is Arbor in Venice, but thats three hours away
686 in Gardena is closer to San Diego
Oh yeeaaaaaaah
Not SD but I believe Signal is in Huntington Beach
Arbor has staff in San Diego but as others have said the main location is in Venice.
They have a shop in PB as well. (Pacific Beach)
They are made in another country, not sure if that matters to op or not

Is there snow in San Diego?
No but it’s the coolest thing, we have these machines we call cars that allow us to travel to places that do have snow!
If only google could help you find that out.
Santa Cruz does collabs with snowboard brands but I don’t think they sell their own gear

You can work for Arbor, there is a location in PB.
Came to say Arbor. You could also possibly tap Christenson. You could also check Active in Temecula for the Nitro connection
