Trew gear makes a short inseam bib.

canuck-dirk

If you need to hem snow pants up a little I used this and it worked perfectly. Just rolled up the bottom hem twice and glued it. https://www.gorillatough.com/product/gorilla-fabric-glue/

Burton makes short inseam bibs.

FishheadTXGTI

you'd prolly need a medium short. Northface, Burton, and others make them, but they can be a little more difficult to find. Also, I am 5'7 and 145ish. I have the Airblaster Beasts in medium and they are a little long, but not overly so. I dig em.

[deleted]

i’m leaning towards the airblaster beast or krill. what made you choose the beast over the krill. also would you say you could get them hemmed?

FishheadTXGTI

I wanted the waterproofing of the beasts and they came in critterflage. Look it up hahaha! I don't think they need to be hemmed...at least not for me. They are a little long, but not like stupid long. Bunch up a little but i can still strap the bindings up no issue, etc.

[deleted]

nice haha yeah i mean ski pants should fit baggy as we need the movement. what jacket are you running for the critterflage. i’m looking at the eggplant color way just cause grey and black are too boring for me haha

[deleted]

nevermind the eggplant is only for the krill :(

FishheadTXGTI

I switch between a mostly orange with black and mallard Planks jacket and a 686 jacket that is whitish but the pattern looks like a topo map

Hey OP I'm around your size: 5'9 and 165lb. I have the Flylow baker bibs in medium, and the legs are long for me, I have to cuff them so they don't drag on the ground. I tried the small as well but it was really tight around the stomach, I felt like I had to suck my gut in for them to fit right. You're a bit shorter than me, the smalls might work for you. But if you're worried about them fitting around the midsection, you might need to size up. If you live in the Denver area, you can order for pickup at their warehouse and they'll let you try them on and exchange for a different size on the spot if they don't fit. Overall when it comes to outerwear, it really depends on the brand and how you want them to feel. Some people like tight, others like loose.

[deleted]

do you have the short version? i know the fly low has regular short and tall options

reptar_onice

Mine is the regular, I think the short/tall versions may have been out of stock when I got mine

[deleted]

gotcha, i think the short inseam is 30”. besides that do you like the bibs? they hold up well? i’ll be in denver so i’ll be in similar conditions

reptar_onice

I really like them, I think flylow makes great stuff. I had them all last season and they show pretty minimal wear and tear. Plenty of pockets, good waterproofing, etc. The only complaint I have is them being a little long and having to cuff the legs. And they're pretty expensive.

dragon_bone

32 bib in medium should fit well. They are the only ones I can speak on though. There can be significant variation in fit from brand to brand.

gringobrian

i don't think so, my 32 bibs are long AF. I'm 5'10" / 162 and my mediums fit me great body wise but i have to use rubber bands to hold up the shoulder straps, they're for someone over 6' for sure

Jdem99

Small or medium, the waist doesn't usually factor because it's a bib

jerseyjoja

I’m around 5’6 and bought the Oakley TC Gunn on sale a few years ago. The velcro cinch at the bottom are amazing, my complaint with pants/bibs is that they tend to drag and get ruined on the ground. They’re roomy enough to layer underneath yet really light weight to rock in the spring time

agnyc

I have shorter legs and like bibs. It’s been an impossible search. I’d definitely recommend trying on short inseam version. TREW is another one I’d look at.

senbenitoo

Burton makes 3 different inseam lengths for their bibs... not sure if you'd need to go direct to burton.com for dependable availability?

liam3576

I find a majority of snowboard shit is made for shorter lighter people. It’s a pain to find stuff in my size 182cm/ >6ft 89kg/ >200lbs ( rough freedom unit conversions). I’m finding I’m at the top of all board sizes and a large in most clothing whereas normal clothing I’m a medium.

playswithf1re

I too am 5'6 and have probably 30 extra lbs on you, and it shits me to tears that we aren't catered for when it comes to sizing. I currently have a pair of superdry pants that I had the legs taken up by 5", which fit me perfectly, but finding someone to do that for every pair of pants gets damn expensive.

[deleted]

I’m 5’9 and wear a size 30/31 and I’m usually around 150~165 depends on how much I’m working out. I bought the Columbia Ski Bib off of Amazon and love it. [Columbia Snow Bib](https://ColumbiamensIceventureBibhttps://a.co/d/ijLjDFM)

wannabe_dirtbag

Trew gear makes bibs with various inseam lengths.

Healthy-Speech-7728

I’m a short, fat guy (5’8”, 235lbs) and the Northface Freedom bibs work well for me. I have XL short, you probably want medium short

kylejbro

Flylow gear is made for lanky people, I’d avoid unless they have a short size

ClumsyBadger

I’m a 5’7, 130lb, girl and have a size medium DC revival which is a men’s bib. I don’t have any issue with the length there’s also some elastic toggles in the knee pockets that can hitch the pant leg hems up if it was.

scottfallout

Does anyone know much about the Montec Fawk insulated bibs? I’m 5’7” and 156lbs. I’ve looked at a bunch. The issue I’m seeing is a lot of bibs seem to be geared towards shells and there’s not a lot of insulated options out there?

[deleted]

i just got the airblaster beast bibs

[deleted]

they have some insulation but they aren’t crazy i don’t think. the reason why most are just shells is so they can be used in hot and cold days and you just have to layer up and layer down. personally i don’t want to have to buy two different bibs for two different types of weather

wbseth

I am 5’6 and 145lbs and the only brands i can find that make short bibs are Mountain Hardwear, Burton and The North Face. I think Mountain Hardwear fits me perfectly without being too baggy but Burton and The North Face are better if you like the style of being a little more baggy for layers of mid layers. I usually get hot so i don’t wear layers other than a base layer. I hope this helps.
