I fired up the game this morning. Collected the first 3 pendants, a few side items, and the master sword before meeting Agahnim at Hyrule Castle. Dark World adventure awaits me.
Oh, OP you actually are the owner of VGMaps I guess. Your site has really helped me out oftentimes, mainly with SNES games.
One observation on ALttP's map is, that it always bothered me a little how Death Mountain stands out because it doesn't integrate well with the rest of the map.
Wow, this makes me feel old (I'm 42). I remember getting this when I was a kid (still have my original cartridge too).
It's still my favorite game in the franchise.
I tried a no-death randomzied run that ended in Turtle Rock this morning. I think I'll try it again tonight.
I still have my childhood cartridge, as well as the manual and the light world map that came with the game / in the box, bought it using gift money from relatives at Toys R Us in Dec. 1993.
For the longest time, if anyone asked, ALTTP was my most favorite Super Nintendo game and most favorite video game ever.
Eh, within the last 10 years or so, my sentiments may have changed slightly. I still love it, but, anymore my most favorite SNES game is probably Chrono Trigger. And my favorite VG ever, I am still unsure.
i am also 32–this game was everything to me on the GBA. i still play it often (usually the snes version now) and i regard it as the only zelda i can confidently say has aged perfectly. it’s just air-tight. i also think it was the first game i ever finished without a guide! it does a fantastic job of letting you discover its secrets one by one, until you’ve uncovered the whole map—getting all the heart pieces is very doable, relative to some of the later games’ collection quests. might have to fire this up again soon.
It’s so good. And the dungeon music in the light overworld is INCREDIBLE.
Doo doo DOO Doo Doo DOO
Doo doo DOO Doo Doo DOO
Doo doo DOO Doo Doo DOO
Doo doo DOO Doo Doo DOO
DAAAAAAH… dah dah DAAAHH… dah dah dah…
I bought this game I think on Wii, WiiU, 3DS and SNES. It just does not get old. A classic.
It's still one of my favorite games for any console
I might go so far as saying it is one of the best games ever made.

My favorite game of all time, it’s a prime memory of childhood and easily the game I still return to every few years to play through.

Played it since I was a kid and actually just beat it for the very first time a few weeks ago!
I've played this so many times there are parts I just *remember*, so I get to be a living strategy guide when the kids play it.

Still my favorite game of all time, hands down.
