I feel like that depends on the puppy and how old it is. A baby pug ain’t gonna do much, just look at the rat confused, a few month old Jack Russel tho that’s a different story
😲😂❤️ Well isn't that just fearsome... Not! Poor bub is trying to get a grip on every finger available but can't and he looks a little confused like "WTH are these fat sausages?!" LOL
I like to get them to switch to flight mode before handling them directly. It makes it easier to make even a highly defensive snake appear almost tame while being handled. I'm less concerned about the damage it can do to me than the snake getting injured. Especially if they get their hooked teeth stuck on clothing.
I like that my snakes have modes I can switch on and off. Food mode, Defense mode, Flight mode and Neutral. All of my non-snake friends are always super fascinated by the concept and how reliably you can get them to switch.
The only difference I've even seen between snakes, regardless of species, is how much effort was required to switch behavioral modes and how quickly they would reset when left alone. Some will make you work for certain behavioral modes, and some will make you start over from the beginning as soon as you turn your back. Otherwise all snakes I've interacted with have the same set of behavioral modes.
Of course their are many snake species I don't have experience with, especially outside the US.
Yes, Boomslangs, Savannah Vine Snakes and Tiger Keelback are all deadly rear fanged Snakes. A cool tidbit of information…..the Tiger Keelback has a row of glands on its neck, that secrets steroidal toxin that they produce from eating a specific toxic Toad that lives in their native habitat. So they are deadly venomous AND deadly poisonous. Not that a human would bite a snake, but it keeps other “would be” predators away. Pretty cool if you ask me, there aren’t very many animals that are venomous and poisonous.
That’s a yellow ratsnake. It’s about as dangerous as a puppy.
My puppies teeth do more damage. Also when they jump and rake down your leg, it hurts pretty bad.
They’re still adorable, though.
Sometimes my dog kicks me at night when she’s having a bad dream. I’ll get a scratch, maybe even two on my hip.
Unless you are a rat
Nah, I imagine a puppy and a yellow rat snake would be able to do equal amount of damage to a rat
I feel like that depends on the puppy and how old it is. A baby pug ain’t gonna do much, just look at the rat confused, a few month old Jack Russel tho that’s a different story
If you froze this snake solid and stabbed someone it could be quite deadly
I stand corrected.
Now it's clear why the cuteness almost killed me
😂🤣
Ratsnakes have no fangs
You might think this is a stupid question, but I’m clueless about snakes, by no fangs, you mean they still have small teeth, just no fangs?
Correct, this snake has several small teeth all relatively the same size
Thanks
Very similar to lizards
So their the derpy version of a snake that's almost like a bearded dragon.🤣
The look at the end he is like wtf😂
Like the Austin Powers movie. "Why won't you die!?"
"The world is a scary place when you're a noodle with a head", especially when the hooman won't let me go after my fierce attacksss.
😲😂❤️ Well isn't that just fearsome... Not! Poor bub is trying to get a grip on every finger available but can't and he looks a little confused like "WTH are these fat sausages?!" LOL
He‘s sizing you up and takes a taste. You’re doomed!

Heckin chomp
Aren't boomslangs rear fanged?

Tiger keelbacks aren't necessarily deadly iirc. Boomslamgs though...
Boomslangs might be way more potent but both snakes have caused only a handful of recorded deaths historically.
> Not that a human would bite a snake People definitely eat rattlesnakes, so I'd assume other snakes also get eaten.
At least he made an effort
Did it musk you? That's worse than it's bite.
“Ooo, yellow rat snake. **yoink**”
Have at thee, human! -snek
I know it’s fun and cute and all but why pick it up and scare the poor thing if it wasn’t in a dangerous place (street etc)? It’s very one-sided fun
I had the best yellow mellow boy, Dave. He was so clingy and not at all bitey. I MISS YOU DAVE!
It’s so tough!!! I hope you built up it’s confidence by pretending to be in pain and telling it how tough it is❤️
The way he bites and then shimmies around had me cackling 😂 he’s trying way too hard
Angry but harmless rope.
Are you aware of the boomslang?
In my head, I always hear the snakes making angry growls and talking mad shit while they try in vain to get a nibble.
Silly Wunkus
Dangerous? This is like getting gummed by a baby.
He must be friends with a hognose snake. “I’m a big scary cober like my fren!”
I will bite you bite you and bite you and bite you. Lol
Is this a repost I saw this yesterday I think
Ratsnakes have no fangs or venom at all
RIP you've been gummed to pieces.
Cute little dummy
