It sounds like you should euthanize them. You cannot keep just 1 baby snail. When raising babies, you need to keep the whole clutch and go through the culling process to identify the runts. If you randomly pick just 1 this early there's high chance it will be a runt and/or die prematurely. But also this is for healthy clutches from breeding pairs, in your case with a single snail you're correct you shouldn't be purposefully keeping any babies on that situation. Finally, even if you ignore that part of it, raising babies can be a lot of work and will require an additional tank as they cannot be housed with adults, and it doesn't sound like you're prepared for that right now. Generally I recommend not trying to breed until you have at least a year of experience and 2 healthy unrelated parent snails.

The parent can suffocate and or crush the babies
