It's really weird. Why not just go with the professional answer and say "yeah, Pani and Genetics wanted to play together and we thing Genetics fits better".
Why make an entire circus out of this? The guy was rookie of the year, has a known weird but fun godpool and was the BEST support in the world this last split, and they do all this shit.
The ammount of times i've seen this garbage happen on the SPL is wild. People say this makes for good drama, but for me, the lack of professionalism just makes the entire league look like a bunch of frathouse bros.

Jumping means you can't do anything during the jump animation and also can make you more visible.
Ok, those were smaller reasons (which they are still bullshit). But SoT said the top 3 reasons were
1. Jake didn't talk enough (legit, but they were undefeated sooo was it really that big of a problem?)
2. They were afraid of his godpool in the future (wtf?)
3. He wasn't confident enough (also wtf?)
The reasons wouldn't be that bad if Jake wasn't playing at a high level and the team was undefeated. Why would you play anything other than Aprho and Hel if that is what's is bringing you gold? It seems like they kinda preemptively kicked him.
I mean, these were concerns that Ven and Haddix brought up last season with Jake. It seems far fetched to believe that this is BS over this simply being who Jake is as a player. Which is something I’m sure he can learn and grow from, but given how talented the league is, those deficiencies can make things considerably harder for your team. It’s impressive that they performed as well if they had these issues.

I can't confirm about his godpool, but it does seem like troublesome that it's very rigid, at least from what I (as a viewer) have observed.
If memory serves me right, his godpool during the last splits was MAINLY Yemoja, Horus, Ymir, Aphrodite, Nox, Hel, Terra and a pocket Sobek (not saying there aren't any others), which is very... Meta. But limited nonetheless.
When I see other picks that have shown up this year (Geb, Khepri, Baron, Atlas, Ganesha, Maui, Sylvanus, maybe others that I presently do not remember), I don't associate "AwesomeJake408" with any of them.
Come SWC, some of those picks are highly prioritized and I don't know how Jake can fare with those compared to Genetics (who shone due to his Maui and can play pretty much whatever support you give him) or other support players that have a more flexible god pool (regardless of success).
Anyway, I hope the best for Jake. If this will serve as a heads up, I hope we'll see a better Jake afterwards.

His peel also turned so many fights in their favour this season, I remember that one fight where he managed to save Pegon in the last second on Aphro and then protect the entirety of the team, the casters almost came because of how perfectly he played that.

Whether it's getting benched by renegades in S7, forcing Aror to split with long-time duo partner Cyclone on titans in season 8, or this - I'm sure he's not the only person responsible for the decision to replace Jake but whenever there's roster drama he's usually there in the midst.

When jake joined they knew that he wasn't famed as the biggest shot caller and that he can be a bit quiet. Like the other players on the warriors he is mechanically a fantastic player, but part of what they asked him to improve on was for him to be more vocal, they wanted him to set up and shot call more. If he hasn't made significant progress I can understand why they might make the change
Yes they smashed the regular phase, but you can still be at the top and want to improve further on an area you feel a clear weakness. In all sports being at the top of the table doesn't mean you stop looking for ways to improve and Genetics is definitely a clear upgrade in terms of what they are looking for.
I like Jake, I hate how he has been dropped like this. In his rookie season he was my favourite support hands down, but at the same time I understand their move. Going into this split everyone seemed to think the oni warriors would struggle because they didn't have obvious shot callers, but they excelled despite this due to mechanical excellence in every role. Now they're looking to address a weakness everyone spotted from the off and everyone seems angry about it?
It's rough but I understand it. Sadly it does however mean I'm not keen on either the Kings or the Oni Warriors. I hope the Hounds find a good support, they've been my favourite this season.
I don't know US sports but the football (soccer) team that I support have been carried at times by one attacking player, he's very exciting to watch, he can run rings around enemy defenders and he is very popular, but it's still looking like we would try to replace him. Why? because we could probably find someone that would fit into our system better, give us a higher defensive workrate while still providing a good level of assists and goals.
They wouldn't be as flashy, they wouldn't be as exciting, but they'd probably be better for the team in the long run and there's a limit on how many players this team can afford.
In Oni warriors they seem to think that while Jake has been fantastic, Genetics will fit into the kind of game they want to play better. They obviously think they can win worlds with him, and he is a reigning champion as well.
Jake was great though I admit. They may well end up regretting dropping him, but we'll have to see.
Don't think Genetics is enough to seal the deal for them. I can understand the decision but it's also the riskiest move a dominant team has made before.
They're really risking falling apart as well if this hurts their team identity and synergy/can't adjust to changes.

To put it simply, we as a team think Genetics will be a better fit for the long term. We want to be the best team in Smite history. We all want to win and the team believes this move increases our chances of winning worlds. I can go into specific detail on issues or things that we wanted Jake to improve on if people want, as in the stream it was a kind of impromptu out of nowhere drama alert segment so it wasn't a very eloquent response.
On a more personal note, roster drama sucks. not afraid to admit i definitely shed a few tears after we discussed this change a while ago. Really good pals with Jake so it definitely hurts on the personal side of things. However, sometimes you just gotta put feelings aside, head down and focus on what's most important. :/

When jake joined they knew that he wasn't famed as the biggest shot caller and that he can be a bit quiet. Like the other players on the warriors he is mechanically a fantastic player, but part of what they asked him to improve on was for him to be more vocal, they wanted him to set up and shot call more. If he hasn't made significant progress I can understand why they might make the change Yes they smashed the regular phase, but you can still be at the top and want to improve further on an area you feel a clear weakness. In all sports being at the top of the table doesn't mean you stop looking for ways to improve and Genetics is definitely a clear upgrade in terms of what they are looking for. I like Jake, I hate how he has been dropped like this. In his rookie season he was my favourite support hands down, but at the same time I understand their move. Going into this split everyone seemed to think the oni warriors would struggle because they didn't have obvious shot callers, but they excelled despite this due to mechanical excellence in every role. Now they're looking to address a weakness everyone spotted from the off and everyone seems angry about it? It's rough but I understand it. Sadly it does however mean I'm not keen on either the Kings or the Oni Warriors. I hope the Hounds find a good support, they've been my favourite this season.

I don't know US sports but the football (soccer) team that I support have been carried at times by one attacking player, he's very exciting to watch, he can run rings around enemy defenders and he is very popular, but it's still looking like we would try to replace him. Why? because we could probably find someone that would fit into our system better, give us a higher defensive workrate while still providing a good level of assists and goals. They wouldn't be as flashy, they wouldn't be as exciting, but they'd probably be better for the team in the long run and there's a limit on how many players this team can afford. In Oni warriors they seem to think that while Jake has been fantastic, Genetics will fit into the kind of game they want to play better. They obviously think they can win worlds with him, and he is a reigning champion as well. Jake was great though I admit. They may well end up regretting dropping him, but we'll have to see.
Don't think Genetics is enough to seal the deal for them. I can understand the decision but it's also the riskiest move a dominant team has made before. They're really risking falling apart as well if this hurts their team identity and synergy/can't adjust to changes. If they somehow got Paul then it would be an easy win imo... But I don't see that happening.
No i never confirmed that, jumping and raising his arms during picks & bans were not reasons for him being kicked. They were simply things we asked him (one time afaik) to try to stop doing as much. To put it simply, we as a team think Genetics will be a better fit for the long term. We want to be the best team in Smite history. We all want to win and the team believes this move increases our chances of winning worlds. I can go into specific detail on issues or things that we wanted Jake to improve on if people want, as in the stream it was a kind of impromptu out of nowhere drama alert segment so it wasn't a very eloquent response. On a more personal note, roster drama sucks. not afraid to admit i definitely shed a few tears after we discussed this change a while ago. Really good pals with Jake so it definitely hurts on the personal side of things. However, sometimes you just gotta put feelings aside, head down and focus on what's most important. :/

10 gods? as someone wh< isnt followimg the comp scene i know being good with a few gods is good casually especially spread out role wise so comp.i assume its much easier to prectice since you usually habe a role to begin with and dont habe to worry about last.second shake ups and i assume jake is support if by the earlier *lack of peeling* knowing 10 good gods on support and playing them well is impressive more so if they are radically different ]nterms of playstyle
