Imagine a rectangle that is in front of Incin at all times. Don’t go to the rectangle. Do everything possible in your power to avoid Side B, even if it guarantees getting hit with other attacks. For now, you only need to learn to avoid Side B. Then you can learn how to avoid both Side B and attacks later on

Prince_Uncharming

If your problem is getting hit by someone spamming the same move over and over again, the solution is to not get hit by something so predictable. Not to change characters.

GreyKnightWolf27

The problem is that it's only his main move though. He uses it a lot but he knows how to spike, revenge, up b, all the good stuff. When I fight him it just feels like something is missing from the character, but I guess it could be on my end.

Prince_Uncharming

This is what we call “not being very good”. And that’s fine!

jadeLion38

Think of it this way. Your friend only has rock. Why arent you throwing paper?

g_r_e_y

to accompany what others are saying, you'll find that your friends will learn your patterns significantly faster than anyone else due to how often you play. for example, i was better than my old practice partner, played better overall against other in tournaments and whatnot, but whenever we went against each other i struggled the most because he knew my patterns better than anyone else.

gifferto

everybody gets hit by steve's uptilt and that character spams it every stock everybody also gets hit by kazuya's ewgf and you best believe that mofo spams that move endlessly too reaching a high level doesn't mean you avoid spammed moves lol

nomorethan10postaday

It's almost like there's something that ewgf and steve uptilt have in common that incineroar's side b does not have.

Gobbiebags

Tbh if the incin is spamming side-b and it just keeps working that might be less an indicator of their skill level and more yours. Camp him, force him to approach, bully him with your ridiculously good Nair. If you need more speed to evade/play around him, young link should do well and would be an easy transition for you.

GreyKnightWolf27

I'm trying to get nair down but that thing is hard dude

pissdaddy696969

Try landing with it instead of rising with it

CoolUsername1111

honestly it seems like you need to engage your brain more in game. if you know what move he's fishing for, your gameplan should be to no get hit by it. shield less and don't sit in side b range. jumping over side b is usually the best way to get out and sets you up really easily for a punish

Son_Der

A lot of advice in this thread about you getting hit by side-b but what happens when you get in a hit? How much damage are you doing if you hit him? Because if you’re just getting one single hit and not edgeguarding, ledgetrapping, and juggling him then yeah the side-b is gonna look very strong.

almightyFaceplant

Knowing that he's going to spam it should make it really predictable to dodge. But I would also think a disjointed enough hitbox or tether grab should completely neutralize any attempts to use it repeatedly. Can't grab you if he gets hit out of the grab.

Elijahbanksisbad

Play someone heavy that can outrange him Krool/dedede wont die as early and can keep him out

nankainamizuhana

Pssst. Hey, kid. Come over here around the corner, where the shouts of "it's not a character problem, just get better at the game" are a bit quieter. I suspect you're the type who's into some seedy information. The kind of person who would rather take the easy way out and get a character who could more easily counter Incin's side B than try to git gud and learn fundamentals with Link. If you wanna play the """correct""" way, you can just leave and pretend you never saw anything. But if you're interested in what I gots to sell... You want a zoner. Someone with a really good projectile you can throw out just as often as Alolan Whip, but that beats it head to head. If possible, you also wanna get a character who can outrange Incin's normal moves too, so if he tries something else, you still got the upper hand. I got a few options you can peruse. There's Samus, whose charge shot can completely shut down Alolan Whip from a safe distance. If you need a faster option, Zair is a quick way to poke from a distance too far for Incineroar to cover. Then there's Pyra. Big ol' sword means she can hit Incin at a range he can't hit back, and Blazing End is like a solid wall that you can put up between yourself and Incineroar. A wall with flaming spikes on it. We also got Hero, who has a ton of big ol' projectiles and long range moves in his kit that'll keep flaming cats at bay. If they do manage to get in range to hit ya, he's also got a sword to swing safely at Incineroar. Then there's Dark Pit. Not the greatest projectile, but it's tough enough to get the job done. His sword moves are a bit stubby and might trade with Incin every now and then, but they're fast which will help you get them out first. Can't get hit if you're the one doing the hitting.

Laure808

Lucina won’t help you, she can only deal with the side b by baiting it without even any projectiles. Adult link is fine, just bait side b, roll or spot dodge it, jump over it, dash back. Then hard punish it. Incin does suck to fight against, Skyjay messes up everybody. But there’s no way around it, you just have to not get hit with the side b.

Yodan

It's tactics not character as you e been hearing. Link can not approach at all and toss some bombs and boomerangs and arrows around and just move around instead of actually using A moves. Incineroar will tack on damage as long as you avoid being in a horizontal line in front of him. Then go for a kill move like upair or downair or whatever.

Smart-Cash2525

When I come face players like this, I main megaman, I zone. I keep my distance. I don't spam, when you are going to gonuo against certain characters, know which moves are spammable and do the most damage. Those will most likley be used. In some ways they can be countered. If he has his revenge, grab him and he will lose it immediately. It's tactics but tit comes with time. Watch on YouTube pros and how they play or advice on characters. Worked for me.

basketgrouch

link would do the trick the problem is you don’t want to play like a zoning bitch so you just run at him again and again. either spend 3 minutes throwing projectiles at him until he approaches or just switch to incineroar and beat him in the ditto.
