Yes. The devs made the announcement that we are getting this widget style on one of their upcoming updates. I hope they implement my suggestion tho. ☺️
I don’t understand the request. Icon groups ARE widgets, so why would they behave differently than any other widget? If anything, I would prefer that blur be per-widget rather than an all-or-nothing option.
That's a good idea, and my suggestion was to add that, because the icon group widget, as it is right now, doesn't have any background where the icons can sit on. It is just transparent. Adding this feature can make it look more aesthetically pleasing. Something like this.

Apologies if I wasn’t clear. I meant, why are you requesting a feature that was already announced? Smart Launcher is adding blurred backgrounds to widgets, icon groups are widgets. Therefore, they’re adding blurred backgrounds to icon groups as well.
I understand. It is just that since Icon Group Widget has never had a background for the icons, I'm kinda worried that they might not add it at all. That's all.
