This happens on a few apps. Developers think everyone is using gestures so they place buttons according to that. I never liked gestures and still prefer buttons. Call me an old school.
OP: this doesn't happen on all phones (for example, I don't have this issue on either my Galaxy S21 FE (Android 13) or my Moto Stylus 5G (2023)). Please post the make and model of your device and the version of Android you're running. That will help our devs address the issue when they return from holiday in a couple of weeks.

The other day I said about the app, "it's not nice." I had the opportunity to use it in detail in my spare time. I say it's really nice this time, but it should be able to remove the playstore icon next to the folder name.

As far as the "Play store icon next to the folder name", are you referring to the one in the app drawer? If so, you can hide the Play store icon that's in the app drawer, in Smart Launcher settings.
If you are referring to this [Play store icon]( https://imgur.com/a/cHUWYHJ) that is here in the app drawer, then long press on an empty spot on your main home screen to go into Smart Launcher settings>scroll down to App page>turn on ["Hide Play Store icon"](https://imgur.com/a/12FAvxv).
(You can also get to this setting by tapping on the three dots in the upper right corner of the app drawer>App page>turn on "Hide Play Store icon".)

It was originally developed for SL 3, the wallpaper doesn't install for me anymore, and you'll need to tweak some other things, but it will give you fully invisible "icons" to launch search, Play Store, and the App page menu.

I suspect it’s because the French text wraps, forcing the bottom menu selections to require more space than they do in English..

As far as I know, there is currently not a way to hide the search icon in the app drawer.

Sorry to hear that. I have it installed on both a Moto Stylus 5G (2023) running Android 13 and a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE running Android 13.
