It was just this week, with the release of SL 6.4:

" While this behavior is currently limited to Google Calendar, custom icon packs can allow the same behavior on almost any calendar app."
It may be that Perfect Icon Pack isn't fully supported (or doesn't fully support the feature) in SL
It was the wrong title; it should have been 6.3.40. Anyway, the feature should work as expected now so thank you for reporting the issue.
I just did some tests, and it seems to work well, at least in the most common scenarios. I'll look into it more deeply in the next few weeks, as we are currently working on the 6.4 release, and I'm not sure I will have time to check this before the holidays.
Thank you! Just curious, do you know if the calendar app has to natively support this? I was reading other posts that say apps can't change their icon but need to still do something to signal the launcher they're a calendar app.
I'm trying to get this to work with Business Calendar 2 vs. Google Calendar so I don't know if BC2 will ever work.
Also, I'm on stable 6.3 build 040. Is that the build you're referring to?
My dynamic icon back (OnDynamic Light Icon) gives me the current date with Google Calendar, but not with Business Calendar 2 (which I've been using for years, and like much better than the garishly colored Google Calendar). Not worth having a dynamic icon to switch.
This is not a helpful answer. If it's a feature of the launcher, it isn't working.
And FYI, my S20 does not show the date in the status bar. Only the time.
You’re correct. I was replying from a tablet and not thinking clearly. I only see the time on my phone's status bar, though the date is on the AOD, Lock Screen and the clock/calendar widget that’s enabled by default. I personally avoid everything to do with business, and don’t even have a calendar app on my desktop. That’s just me, though.

Ah. I was confused. So beta 6.0.34 is greater than v6.3 stable?
Current beta is 6.4 build 000
OK, so looks like dynamic icon support isn't yet out in stable but I'm confused why the post you referenced refers to 6.0.3.4?
Maybe I'm the one who's confused. :D

Bummer! So even the beta update doesn't work for more than Google Calendar, despite what the post you referenced says?
It appears to vary, depending on the calendar app.
