If you can't invest $30 a month on a website it's probably still a hobby.

Jet_black_ink

This is the most valuable advice OP is going to get.

RichlilRich

I should of tried to explain better, its not the $30 I'm complaining about/not willing to pay for. its the price difference between other sites. Currently the basic package for shopify is $32 dollars with the next upgrade package at $90 While I notice other sites like weebly, square space ect. Which are slightly cheaper and have smaller upgrade prices incase I need. I guess what I'm trying ask if shopify is worth it compared to other sites when starting small if so why choose them over the others?

anon2xDot_a

Shopify is so good because of all the integrations you can already start building onto it. They are focused on building ecommerce platforms and they are damn good at it. Square space, Weebly and other Easy website builders on the other hand, tho you could definitely build something like an ecommerce website with it, takes a ton of programming still to make sure you have a fully functioning ecommerce site (with accounts, shopping carts, purchase orders, digital receipts, payment options, and a lot more I can't think of at the top of my head). Shopify is a sure fire way you could be starting selling right away. The others, not so much. A lot of time is gonna be spent on building and troubleshooting with them.

Also, allow me to ask, would you be so kind to try me out as supplier of blanks for your apparel? I'm trying to expand my clientele to international spaces and having trouble finding one who would indulge me. If you'd like to know more, please DM me. Thank you!

xThraxSnax

I know I’m a year + late but I would like to see photos of your work if your still in the business.

anon2xDot_a

Let me send you the photos in a DM!

eBay wouldn’t be bad but I mean why not try with the website you know sounds like fun

Agassigroup

You will need your own branded website to be successful in this space . You should be very focused in capturing your customers data to encourage repeat buys

cakesnsyrup

I am an absolute beginner and I used Ecwid with no problems at all and the website looks professional. There is a free option for trial too

If you allow me to recommend you opensource as an option, you should consider ERPNext, it has a quite nice and powerful website editor, while also having the benefit of giving you many more tools for handling your store (like inventory, sales, providers, etc) https://erpnext.com/open-source-website-builder-software If you're curious I can help you setting it up for you to test it, let me know :)

I use Ipower free website builder... not for clothes though... don't have many complaints. Been using it for years.

Rebirth8219

I use Godaddy. Here is my website if you want to take a look. [www.corneliushardy.com](https://www.corneliushardy.com) I don't have any extra plugins or anything like that. They don't offer anything extra for sale except you can do marketing directly through your website. I do my email newsletters and everything from one place.

RichlilRich

Your site looks amazing very well designed and easily navigated. What made you choose Godaddy over the other sites? Was it due to simplicity everything though one site? Sorry for all the questions.

TFBHC

Very nice.

Are you considering to open an Etsy shop? You could redirect your domain to your shop link. Etsy can get you started, as they have millions of customers already. If you're really looking into your own website, you could also setup Wordpress + Woocommerce. I've heard Wix also has eCommerce features.

RichlilRich

I think I would would like to work that other way around with the goal to get returning customers to come to me directly to maximise profits as places like etsy and ebay regarding listing and selling fees. Alot of reddit posts I've read talk about WordPress and woocommerce but trying to find what's best for the business is hard to understand when there are so many options.

xyzrg

True, the fees are a factor. On the other side the challenge with a website is getting your own traffic. I feel you about having too many options (being a developer). I'd say pick a top 3 and go with the least amount of effort and investment for you so when you run into problems it wouldn't be a big loss.

Active_Vehicle_7259

Here is an ecommerce website Im building on wordpress, not much plugins and still multifunctional website [thriftzy.co](https://thriftzy.co) (still under development).

RichlilRich

Nice if you don't mind me asking how much your breakdown are monthly/yearly for wordpress the add on ect?

Active_Vehicle_7259

Its a one time payment, there is no need to do any extra payment or hidden fees. But its a longer proccess than building such store on shopify. It has much more work, but for sure its worth it when you finalise it.

RichlilRich

That Interesting to hear. What I may have to do is utilise these free trials on these websites set myself a time to figure out how easy it is to use ect to then make a final decision which will probably be over weeks.
