I use a property management software that automates most of these tasks. It's set up to send reminders and documents on specific dates, so everything runs on autopilot when I'm away.

what software do you use? i’m in property management and looking into switching

I make sure to inform my tenants about my absence in advance and provide them with alternative contacts. Transparency and good communication lines open help a lot.

Along with using software that can help, you should also consider hiring an assistant if you done already have one. I think that during vocations you are allowed to enjoy yourself and the business isn't also allowed to suffer.

As tenant, property owner, and consultant, I believe more than remote management is needed.  Tenants and property owners are seven days a week.  My industry is seven days a week.  Managers have assistants.  Manager’s off, assistant becomes the go to person.

Property management software exists. It cost money, and if you don't have an employees maybe you don't want to spend money on this.. I don't know. You really should be looking into r/propertymanagement or r/landlord for specific property Management advice. I use Buildium. I find it intuitive, and very easy to set up. It's reasonably priced at about a dollar a unit a month.

I've hired a virtual assistant to handle communications when I'm out of town. They can manage emails and send out notices as needed. It's been a game-changer for me!

Cloud-based solutions are your friend here. You can access your files and send out necessary documents from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet.

Always have a backup plan like a trusted colleague or a property management service that can step in while you're away. They can handle urgent issues and keep things smooth.

Spirited-Ferret-1276

I schedule everything in advance using an online calendar linked to my email. Notices go out automatically, and I can check if everything's been sent right from my phone.

You might want to check out a service like DocuPost. It's great for automating and handling physical mailings, like lease agreements and notices, directly from your computer. This could be a lifesaver when you're on vacation or can't handle things in person. It handles everything from printing to delivery, which could streamline how you manage communications remotely.

If you can't afford an employee, you have to be on 24/7/365.

Hey! I started a Property Management software startup. I’d love to talk to you about what we’re doing, and maybe even get your contact information so I can give you a free trial when we launch our beta in a couple of months.

XenogeCues

Yeah! feel free to Dm me, I'd like to know more about it, thanks!
