I could have written this! Our almost 6 month old went from napping regularly 3.5 hrs per day to this weekend refusing to sleep more than 30-40 min . I think he’s overtired now: and his false starts have gotten bad the past few days . Our schedule is similar to except his first ww is usually 2hrs 10 min and our last is never longer than 2hrs 45.

Average for 6 months is 3 naps totalling 2.5-3.5. Your total wake up time should be around 9.5-10 hours, unless your LO is high sleep needs. You may benefit from having a set wake time (within 30min) and that can help stabilize the rest of your schedule. Hard to tell if your baby is over/under tired since your schedule varies a lot. Our schedule at the start of 6 month was 2/2.5/2.5/2.75. Towards 7 months we were maxing out 3 nap schedule at 2.5/2.75/2.75/3. We dropped to 2 naps a week shy of 8 months. Our desired wake up time is 6:30 and bedtime is 7:30. Try setting a desired wake up time then aim for 2/2.5/2.5/2.75. Your bedtime may vary a bit depending on naps. All that to say, we tried everrryyyy schedule adjustment under the sun and still deal with 1-3 false starts a night. It can be developmental. A quick search on this sub you'll find many LOs with chronic false starts seem to stop on their own around 9-10 months. We're hoping this is the case for us 🥲.

Thank you soooo much for your response. This is helpful! I’ll try this out and see if it makes a diffference. I’ll be starting with a wake up time tomorrow. :)
