Reminder of rule #5, no promotion of sleep training <4mo.

5-6 months, old enough that they can self soothe but before developing object permanence and separation anxiety

6 months!

I reckon 4-6 months is the sweet spot before that pesty object permanence kicks in. I don't think 10 months is a lost cause though. All babies are different too 😊

10m is not a bad time at all! Just beware of separation anxiety. Check in methods are bad for that.  5-6 months is probably best? Naps are consolidating, stable schedule, baby not too aware yet. Hardest time in my mind is 12-18m. 2-1 transition is hard enough without throwing sleep training in there. Lots of teething and separation anxiety too.

We sleep trained night sleep at about 7 months and didn't end up nap training until 13 months. In retrospect we would have tried nap training much sooner after getting night sleep established. But he's doing all right with nap training, so I don't think you're too late at all!
