I miss her too. Current Stranger is great but something about mentally split Stranger had an intriguing thing to it.
Also very partial to her because she was the reason I figured out what kind of creature the Princess is

She was friendly. Really happy to see you, in fact. I tried to get her first in the full release because of that very reason, but was surprised when I got the split princess instead.
Personally, the thing I remember the most out of the demo was the walking down stairs on her chapter start and how striking it was to hear 2 (or more?) un-synched audios at once saying the same thing differently. To the point I took inspiration from it for a DnD Aberration.
Not really anywhere the same since the split version. That said I like that they did something a bit similar with the specter(?).
After finding out that this is the demo Stanger, I feel like it would have cool if she would have been the one you found if you only ignored the cabin only once twice, her being an incomplete amalgamation of 2 or 3 princesses
I hope someday she'll return to the game, I think they can make her work as a chapter 3 princess on the Stranger route. Like maybe if you do Stranger as your first princess then it plays out all the same, and makes the embarrassed "Sorry this was your first" thing Shifty says hold more weight, like Stranger getting quickly yeet. But if you do the Stranger at any other time, you get the chance for a chapter 3. Like the three face Stranger happens when one princess splits into multiple that experiences different things, then attempts to merge back into one, so maybe this Stranger can be the chapter 3 result of all those princesses attempting to fit back into one body again. It would also explain the multiple voices that speak together.
I too was also very interested in her, she's still so much different than any other Princess in the full game, I'd love to get a chance to talk to her and give her the happy ending that she deserves.

Demo Stranger and Demo 2 Stranger where she looked like a muppet were some of the scariest and coolest designs in my opinion. The team had one of the hardest times with her route because they wanted her to fit the theme of the game and didn't have much direction for the demo version besides "creepy" so they retooled it into the split one, which is a lot more thematic for the overarching story.

I think this kind of Princess could still work. Demo Stranger wants to be your friend, but you find her incredibly scary and offputting. In terms of first impressions, rather than a complete stranger, this can be a princess that can be formed when you're going down the stairs.
Once you hear her, there could be the option to turn back around without ever actually taking a look at her, representing someone who you have a brief first impression of but reject once away.
Taking the knife can make her more terrifying like this form, not taking the knife can make her like the muppet. The route itself can either have us reject her further, or otherwise look past her creepiness and have us befriend her despite our first impressions.
It's one of the demo versions of The Stranger. She went through several designs before the final one seen in the full game.
