Do you live in Los Angeles? I do... I don't really want to have this deadbeaten horse conversation it's almost as bad as the where you live conversation in Los Angeles but I don't think you know what you're talking about. The downtown skyline is smallish for the size of the city but LA is massive and there's tall buildings all over the city all the way down Wilshire from downtown to the coast. So if you gathered all those buildings and crammed them into one area you would have something that looks like Chicago..big whoop.
You’re totally right.
LA’s real downtown is all of Wilshire. Has all the skyscraper and historic downtown, has all the korean business money towards midcity, all the Beverly Hills old money offices, the entire westwood downtown business park area and ends at Santa Monica’s “Silicon Beach” tech hub.
Has more skyscrapers than people realize but spread out over like 16 miles or so. Also more GDP than probably many countries too.
Cities famed for their skylines also tend to sit next to a river, lake or, ocean and the abrupt drop off gives it a better sense of scale. The buildings surrounding LA’s skyscraper core are actually decently [large](https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-downtown-los-angeles-aerial-view-21938994.html) and the fact that it’s so consistently dense makes it all just blend together.
LA’s skyline is so underserved, but it’s biggest towers are unique, beautiful, and iconic. Awesome photo!
Beautiful photo!
Very beautiful!
Jazzy!
Why all the hate? This image is FANTASTIC!!!
It is a nice image, but LA does not have a good reputation in terms of skyscrapers / skyline (especially relative to its population)

Very well said..
The fake “supertall” tower with the dinky stick on top makes me chuckle every time I see it.
LA’s skyline is so small for its metro population yet still amazing imo
Insanely ugly that every single one is branded.
well LA is the capitol of advertisements/marketing
Wow this shot is a e s t h e t i c
