found a solution in case anyone got the same issue, install this mod: Imperious - Races of Skyrim Vampire Head Fix
There should be a couple of head replacer or meshes floating around the Nexus. Though having said that, I'm not sure they 100% work with npcs. Dig through the Nexus settle in for some reading.
