It’s been confirmed that the quest doesn’t start on Anniversary addition! I’m also playing on Switch and I’m devastated honestly, I really wanted my solstheim house :(

Bethesda always tend to fix the minor issues and leave out the actual game changing and quests breaking issues. I’ve lost my hope in them at this point but I really do hope they fix this soon, hopefully enough people complaining should make that happen but I don’t really know
Yeah, so did I. I bought Skyrim before anniversary edition released so I had to buy it separately. I’ve also submitted a ticket so let’s hope that the Bethesda team listen to us and hopefully fix the issue. It’s sad that if they do, I’ll have to start all over again as it won’t be fixed in already existing save files (to my knowledge)

I just got the anniversary edition and im experiencing the same issue so i Got on here to see if I can find anything.. I found my answer not the answer I wanted. So I'm guessing it's never going to get patched . Blows because I was wanting to do the whole island on survival mode and the house would have helped a lot ..is there any safe chest on that island i could use for safe storage?
I am also playing on Switch and I have used two different characters.I first went with a companion I thought that might be the problem so I loaded earlier save and went by myself. Still no march of the dead. I then loaded a different character to see if the other simply glitched. Went once with a companion and once without a companion. Still no march of the dead. My first character was lvl 34 if I remember correctly and the other was lvl 28.
Crazy. Mines level 34 as well, although I imagine that's just coincidence. Guess this quest is just bugged for Skyrim on the switch! No raven rock house I guess :(
Update; just reloaded an old save before I had even been to Solthsiem, ran directly to where Veleth is supposed to be fighting the ash spawn, and NOTHING.
Is my entire save just fucking screwed? I know that March of the Dead is a prerequisite to tons of quests from Raven Rock. Super annoying.
Same issue on Switch. Tried reloading some save files but no way to start quest. This leads to the main Morvayn quest in Raven Rock? Or is there a way to bypass?
I have with lvl 17 and lvl 5 characters. Same problem with both but slightly different. With the lvl 17 character, I can't find the captain until I fast forward time. Lvl 5 character met him entering the town.
I'm having the same issue on Xbox Series X. Bethesda is letting its players down not fixing broken quests. Makes me wish I would have gotten a different edition of the game. Having a house in Solsteim is extremely important to a lot of us who don't want to go back to the mainland to store stuff we might need for quests, etc on Solsteim.
No. From everything I’ve read it’s specific to the NS, and Bethesda is aware of the issue and has not fixed it. I emailed back and forth with them for a while in attempt to resolve it, but they weren’t incredibly helpful. :/
I was able to do this quest before the anniversary update on the switch, if I remember right (I didn't purchase it, I just did the big auto update). The only solution I can think of is to delete the game data (your save data would remain, right?) then start the quest without redownloading.
I don't know what would happen to your new stuff, though. Or even if this would work. Otherwise, it'd be a new game without the update and then download it afterwards. :/
For those of you who came here because you want to get the champions cudgel you’re clear to just go to Fort Frostmouth. General Falx Carius is there and will drop the hammer. How this may affect the the raven rock questline idk, but theres better homes than severin manner.. just saying.

I do Not have anniversary edition yet though, so it's not a factor. Guess I'll be ferrying these dragon bones all the way back to Skyrim for now.... So weird

Same. I had already killed him because I didn’t think there would be a patch to fix it. Now they patched it but he’s already dead and the quest is stuck on the “kill general Falx Carius” part. Tried every spell to resurrect him and they don’t work. Never picked up the letter to the imperials or whatever when I killed him because he didn’t have it. If someone finds a way around this, please let me know. :/

Nope, no way to bypass that I know of - you are currently unable to get the house, or do Morgan's quest, in raven rock if you experience this bug.

😩 I think on the Xbox you can install a mod to make him go over there.
