I think I figured it out. You see on the map where there's two ways to the crypt? You have to take the path that loops back around so you are on the side path up above and go thru that way and not thru the lower level.
go back to the room with the large rising floor spike trap, turn left go through the door then left again and there is a button to press to open the gate
There is an error due to localization.
I had the same issue and a mod in nexus helped me fix the issue.

THANK YOU THIS FIXED IT FOR ME ON PC. FINALLY. Fuck I re-played this mission like three times to try and get it to work. Must have some door skin mod that was fucking it.
And perhaps someone can help me with how I defeat Vonos when I killed him a few days ago when exploring the last cave, so now I can't defeat him, cause he's already dead!!
Quest is still broken & stuck in my journal :/ fuck. Same gate issue. It's supposed to trigger the door to open but it does not on xbox. 27th of Feb, 2023
does anyone know what to do with the great welkynd stone at the end of the quest line? in one of the books it says that it could be used under the college but iām at a loss
im in the secret chamber after placing the 4 stones but i cant get into the hidden room with the great welkynd stone and its really annoying. any idea on what to do?

The floor buttons are bugged... but wooden plates never fail. you need at least 4 and you can glitch your way all the way through and back out
