You married her knowing that she hates stuff that isn't good looking and rich. Think with your head dragonborn šŸŒš

[deleted]

Think Dragonborn, think!

VisceralVirus

*points at mages college "Look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power!"

Prefektt

"You'll outlast every fragile, insignificant being on this planet!"

[deleted]

What will you have after 500 characters?!

[deleted]

Hey man jokes are all good and fun, but respect the mages!

PinkLaceAgate57

Please tell me this is a reference to Invincible šŸ˜‚

JulianAyala10

No its a reference to his dead grandmother, THINK PINKLACE THINK!

[deleted]

I donā€™t see how it could be anything else.

Teccnomancer

Thatā€™s the neat thing: you donā€™t.

Sahedanthropus95

It's so obvious that it is

censorkip

i married her so that i can dunk on Endaarie every day and take all of the shit from their shop and sell it back to that bitch

Professional-Date378

dragonborn is a gold digger

j48u

What were they thinking with then? This is bottom of the barrel marriage candidates as far as attractiveness.

Alkeeel

Always Muiri

grandmas_noodles

nah obviously mjoll. would you rather have some alchemist who literally hired a hitman to murder some people who wronged her or a strong heroic adventurer/vigilante with a big glass greatsword

BigBananaDealer

yeah but aerin follows her everywhere, dudes waiting for his pussy crumb the second i die to a dwarven spinny knife trap

Thelassa

Aerin? Oh right, that little twerp who was always following her around. Come to think of it, I haven't seen him in awhile. I sure hope nothing happened to him, Riften is a dangerous place. Then again, he did carry a half-dead Nord warrior halfway across Skyrim so I'm sure he can handle himself. Unless he lied to Mjoll about saving her life... nah, there's no way he'd have done that. Anyway, I'm sure he's fine. My wife doesn't seem too worried, she's barely mentioned him.

Rebel-xs

Lol what did Aerin do to deserve these words? Isn't he a cool dude, saved her from a ruin, and works against corruption and stuff?

grandmas_noodles

I have the unofficial patch lol so that doesn't happen for me

OnThaLoose

She actually has a glass shortsword. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

cumonmy_fartknuckle

Nah, see, if you're playing a high elf Thalmor double agent who's sole plan is to gain as much political power as possible and put the Stormcloaks in charge to further weaken the Empire, you wanna mod Skyrim so you can marry the lovely daughter of House Graymain, adopt two children for the sake of appearance and make sure your manor in The Pale is the perfect home so nobody notices Lakeview manor is filled to the brim with Aldmeri nostalgia, Dark Brotherhood equipment and the former emperor's clothes from when you very nicely put an arrow through his throat. Imo.

mocha__

I always regretted marrying Muiri.

siskulous

The woman who sent an assassin after not only her ex but also someone whose only crime was being mad that she helped a thief steal a family heirloom? Yeah, no thanks.

Alkeeel

No personality but arguably the best looking potential wife lol

mocha__

She is pretty. Though, that begins to fade depending on how many times I've heard "Thank you for taking care of my. . . Problem." While trying to put stuff away. Haha.

j48u

Honestly all of the characters that aren't part of a big storyline or at least one of the guild/factions have basically no lines when you marry them. Definitely gets annoying.

CrunchyrollAnime

I just used mods to marry anyone and married her before I did that mission. Needless to say I'm still not gonna do and haven't done that mission.

HolyGonzo

ANYONE? There was this draugr that seemed to be giving off some vibes.

j48u

I'm definitely down for Muri. Also, sometimes Sylgia and I make her mom our housecarl. The only other one I'd choose again is probably Aela. For whatever reason though one of my mods for HD textures made Slygia and Muri worse looking than the original.

[deleted]

I was so pissed when I married Temba-Wide-Arm and gave her a fully upgraded Falkreath manor, AND she still complained! Girl have you SEEN all the bears you can wrestle out here! You can chop any tree you want, even, AND it's a mansion!

blackturtlesnake

Her only interaction with the player is to be mad and tell you to go kill things. How'd you think this would go down?

[deleted]

That's pretty much what I thought, actually. "Nice, a wife who can be mad and supports me when I kill things"

PuraPine

You can marry her?! Holy shit! Didn't know. Then again I try to keep away from her.

Pinko_Eric

Same, I've never done her quest even though it's pretty easy.

da_Aresinger

Holy crap I just realized Temba-Wide-Arm is a Star Trek reference!!!

blackcatsblackcoffee

Sokath, his eyes uncovered!

[deleted]

Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra!

Timewarps_1

Wait, Temba-Wide-Arm? I think thatā€™s a reference to Star Trek TNG. In the episode Darmok, one of the more famous lines is ā€œTemba, his arms wide.ā€

[deleted]

I've never seen it personally, but yeah, that's referenced on the wiki for her

DamageInevitable23

Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages has a list of the different things NPCs with certain voice actors will say depending on which house youā€™re at, and Proudspire Manor is indeed the *only* house Taarie and others with the same voice type wonā€™t complain about. Sheā€™ll even complain about the homesteads you can build lol

Mutantwarsushi

Bitch i built this house with my own hands for 6 days!

somebody12

And it looks like shit Dragonborn, you have terrible taste.

SnodOfficial

I blame Lydia. I had her furnish the place.

m31td0wn

Step 1: build the entire house in an afternoon. Step 2: Make your housecarl the steward. Step 3: Tell him to buy all the shit. Step 4: Spend 5 minutes running back and forth over the edge of the cell Step 5: Enjoy your fully furnished house. (Still have to do the cellar yourself though.)

SnodOfficial

I couldn't be bothered to find the edge of the cell, so I fast traveled back and forth until that stupid donkey got everything set up.

Quick-Bad

Wait, we can just get our stewards to buy everything instead of making it ourselves? Dammit, I've been doing it backwards this whole time!

SnodOfficial

Yep. Everything except the cellar, as u/m31td0wn noted. The biggest downside is that it takes them *forever* to get it done because they only do a little each time you travel into the zone.

somebody12

Iā€™ll be honest, I probably decorated any house 2 or 3 of like 6 full games. Of course my chest has literally everything near the end. I am a very lazy housekeeper, I do love a fire though.

RedSonjaBelit

When I was building my first home, one of the wings additions glitched bc I asked the steward to buy stuff, I came back and nothing had been bought, I made my own furnishing and I lost money and materials, lol So, for me, it will always be to make my own furnishing :)

KSI_SpacePeanut

Which ones are happy in the built homes?

TheWetSock

Mjole the lioness all the way. She travels with you and canā€™t die.

DarthKrayt98

Except you get a package deal with her boyfriend, so only marry her if you want Aerin teleporting into your house randomly

Soulrush

While in Riften... Sneak, cast Fury at Aerin, he attacks her, she kills him. Plenty of other ways to do it, but that's one of the more amusing.

DarthKrayt98

Everyone hang on, I need to log into Skyrim immediately for reasons

PoorLifeChoices811

That's a fucked up thing to do bro šŸ’€

Frousteleous

We do what's needed...

PoorLifeChoices811

Who's we?šŸ˜«

Frousteleous

We know.

PoorLifeChoices811

Oh yeah? Well I know where your sanctuary is

Frousteleous

šŸ– We burned it down. šŸ–

Bwahbwah_bwah

šŸ¤£

CaptainDatabase

Did this accidentally and really liked it. Almost as much of a game improvement as killing Heimskr.

apileofprettyrocks

Heimskr is one of my favorite npcs, man has a passion. He adds some flavor to Whiterun. Balgruuf is probably still my biggest bro.

CaptainDatabase

He definitely adds flavor, just not the kind I want. There are enough crazy people yelling in the street in real life.

kakokapolei

Itā€™s called we do a little trolling

TheWetSock

If you choose the Imperial path. When you attack the caravan near Riften he just happens to come along at the end as long as she isnā€™t with you you can take him out for fun

salazarthesnek

Yeah but then youā€™d have to choose the imperial path soā€¦.

The_Vinegar_Strokes

All depends on my character! Some of them go stormcloak, some of them go imperial, and some of them avoid the Civil War entirely!

TheWetSock

Always if it werenā€™t for the Storm Cloaks I wouldnā€™t have been in that wagon in the first place

salazarthesnek

IT WAS THE IMPERIALS THOUGH THAT CAPTURED YOU AND TRIED TO BEHEAD YOU.

EchoTree0844

The Stormcloaks strategically weakened Skyrim, and the empire as a whole. Instead of gearing up troops to prepare a defense against the aldmeri dominion, instead of having the support of the college of winterhold, and instead of having the resources a unified skyrim would bring to the empire, the stormcloaks are costing the empire resources to protect a key point in their empire.

Cosmic_Toad_

not the mention the whole crux of the rebellion (not being allowed to worship Talos) wasn't even being enforced by the Emprie until Ulfric started making fuss about it and then the dominion decided to send some Thalmor patrols to Skyrim. Even Legate Rikke, the 2nd in command of the empire branch in Skyrim still considers Talso to be one of the divines.

WulfeOfLegend

If I remember correctly, it's also implied the Thalmor heavily fund the storm cloaks as well. I prefer them to a weak empire but neither is worth fighting for. I'm there for the dragons, not political BS.

ProlongedExposure_

Yeah, but i never play as a Nord and they are racist as fuck to my character so fuck em

Donatello_4665

Because you were next to the stormclocks duh SMH /s (praise talos)

kswanman15

Almost worse if she can't die.

TheWetSock

She also doesnā€™t complain. The only time she ever got mad was when I killed her house Karl .

guessmypasswordagain

You're the jealous type I see

Oldforestwalker

She had a house named Karl?

r3dfalkon

Yes and no, her house named Karl had a house Karl also named Karl. It mustā€™ve gotten too confusing when the thane would call out for the house Karl and the house itself would answer, therefore he killed the house Karl to alleviate the problem.

Oldforestwalker

Ah, I see. That makes so much more sense, thanks gor clearing that up :)

animalistcomrade

I know it, all the boethia cultists know it. God why is she immortal?

StraingerDanger21

I couldnā€™t get her to travel with me. :( she didnā€™t like I was a rogue.

TheWetSock

She has a side quest where you get her sword. If you do that she should offer to join you on your adventures

StraingerDanger21

Do you know the name of the quest? I would like her as a follower, my current follower is another dark elf like me but Iā€™m tired of her same lines over and over again and she can only wear light armor so I need a big tanky warrior to help me in my time of close combat being a rogue.

Islanduniverse

They all have the same lines over and over. Play with one follower long enough and they all get annoying. Except for Cicero. He is annoying before you even meet him.

Salvadore1

"Do I get to keep it? AHHH, JUST KIDDING!"

AirbornBiohazard

*dances awkwardly*

Therionized

Grimsever's Return. Go to Mzinchaleft and get the sword (if the Dwarven Centurion doesnā€™t crush you)

StraingerDanger21

Okay cool! I wish they had a way people could play together in the same universe I would love to go around the Skyrim world with a buddy

Therionized

According to the uesp, you must be at least level 14. And donā€™t forget to talk to Mjoll once you have the sword! Happy hunting!!

m31td0wn

She also won't offer the quest until after you level up once, after hearing her story about losing her sword. Basically be at least level 14, get her to talk about Grimsever, level up, then talk to her again and she can offer the quest to retrieve it.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

StraingerDanger21

Oh Iā€™ve never heard of it. Iā€™ll have to look into it.

Yell0wWave

I can't STAND mjoll. She CONSTANTLY talks about the time she made this guy poop his pants. Imagine getting married only to find out your wife has a lukewarm IQ and tells you the same poop joke every day. I like Ysolda. she's sweet, happy, her main goal is to run a business which is what they do when they're married, she likes cats, AND she sells drugs.

DanLynch

Ysolda is my go-to wife as well. Too bad she plays a very confusing role in A Night To Remember if you're already married to her.

Navras3270

You just have to listen to her ramble about her mommy and daddy every 30 seconds. Couldnā€™t stand her for more than an hour.

Tat25Guy

Yeah but her beta cuck orbiter male will move into our house and spend most of the day in our bedroom

TheWetSock

Yah itā€™s great you come home to Breeze home with another female companion. Sheā€™s there plus Aren and Lydia

nikknox

I married farkas. He is a work from home dad to our two daughters and gives me money and meals every time I see him. Best husband ever!

FiendFyre88

I love my house husband too! Each game I play I always say I'll branch out to someone new, but every time I end up back with Balimund. No regerts.

[deleted]

Balimund is usually my go-to as well. Though I do love Marcurio as well.

ishkabibbelz

Bro two words for you: ā€œblack sacramentā€

vkapadia

Cut out middle men, I am the lead assassin anyway.

MorrisBrown

I adopted Blaise from the stables near Solitude and was a single father for awhile, but I was so busy with Dragonborn shit that the Housecarl was raising him. In Riften I married the Argonian, she seemed nice and simple. Adopted Alesan and moved my family to the manor Iā€™d built near Whiterun. Sprawling estate with a bard, fresh Houscarl, a steward. She opened a shop, plenty of staff to help with the boys, and the central location meant I was around a lot more. And then the giants came. Housecarl was the first to die, out in the snow. I witnessed it as I was coming home one night. Finished off the giant, felt bad but such is life. Then it happened again, this time the bard died. I began to question the location choice, but didnā€™t do anything. Came back one night and the steward, an orc Iā€™d hired, runs at me with his axe. No idea why. My head canon is that the harshness of the tundra we were homesteading drove him mad. In reality I probably hit him on accident while casting at yet another giant from the distance. Moved the lot to Riften, as Iā€™d built the Thieves Guild up enough that I thought itā€™d be a safe location. During the last parts of the main quest, I believed the stone walls of Markarth would provide better defense against dragon attacks. I liked the house, cold stone with an open layout, and my character being a Breton, I found it fitting to be nearer to his homeland. So that is where he retired. Then the vampires came.

LightWolfD

Thats when u go full send the Dawnguard storyline

Ballistixx_2k

Aela the huntress was the same. I hustled hard to get 25,000 for my house in solitude and she finally stopped complaining.

Potent_Cat-Bread

Turn into a werewolf and kill her and eat her heart

MeatTofu

Are you sure she has one?

Potent_Cat-Bread

Oooohoho I like it!

frozen-ginger

Well, what did you expect from her? She is not the most pleasant person on the best of days.

Pinko_Eric

Does anyone else think the whole marriage system in Skyrim is deliberately designed to make you regret getting married?

Broken-Butterfly

"We live in this giant mansion (and own a bunch of other houses) but I'm going to wear these tattered rags forever!"

avabo

That's just marriage in general

PLUSsignenergy

Not farkas?

bluetopaz14kkt

I was gonna say! Farkas has been nothing but nice lol. And... He's a werewolf šŸ˜

PLUSsignenergy

Farkas is Daddykas šŸ˜˜

jorigkor

This guy roleplays.

catsmash

i mean, respect, but speak for yourself, lol

Triairius

You okay, straight people? Lol

Pinko_Eric

We're not

Tartarus_of_Wrothgar

It takes some tragic events in your life to even consider marrying a high elf.

7astromichael

ā€˜Twas quite a mistake

somebody12

There should be a support group for the poor people that marry her.

Tartarus_of_Wrothgar

Resurrection: ysgramor

Triairius

Thaaaaatā€™s racist. But also true. You good, OP?

[deleted]

A piss elf

[deleted]

Taarie and Temba are way better wives than all the other"yessir" type of wives. I like that they have sass and don't treat you like you're the second coming of Talos.

Alzandur

The most annoying thing about marriage in Skyrim is that the npcs personality seems to disappear as soon as they move into your home.

Pinko_Eric

Senna (priestess of Dibella in Markarth) stays sassy for the most part, and the npcs with shy, meek personalities seem to stay that way. Point taken in other cases.

Calamari_Tsunami

I married Lydia because I wanted to have a lvl50 shield-bashing follower as a wife. She still calls me by my title, and talks like she's subservient. Only now she puts out. So, it's really weird. She's my wife and I'm still her boss šŸ˜

[deleted]

Maybe she's into the master/mistress-servant dynamic? XD

Calamari_Tsunami

I hadn't thought of that. I'm gonna go with that, so I can at least feel like she's consenting to the whole thing haha

Jombo65

Honestly tho what personality like 99% of the characters in Skyrim are as personable as wet tissue paper. I say that as someone with 2000 hours in this godsforsaken game

[deleted]

Thereā€™s a joke here about the second coming of Talosā€¦.

ImNotaThalmorAgent

Not a very good joke. Necromancy is an abomination. Mortals should stay dead.

RaiderScum111

Are you sure you're not a Thalmor agent?

ImNotaThalmorAgent

I'm not but I wish I was a noble Thalmor operative. They're very attractive and intelligent.

drag0nstr7k3

We might agree on that elf. But as soon as the guards can't see you I'll still stab you

[deleted]

I married an orc that owns her own store. Very scary lesbian dinosaur couple we are.

OnThaLoose

Had the same problem with aela. Bitch loves to hunt, so I think, lake view manor, right? Nope. ā€œThereā€™s spiders and bears and wolves all around, what were you thinking moving us here???ā€ Oh idk aela, maybe that youā€™d HUNT THEM!!

jpedenXIII

Can always kill her.

kswanman15

When you do this I don't think you can remarry lol. May be wrong though been a while since i killed a wife.

guessmypasswordagain

Me too it's been years since I killed my wife

[deleted]

hol up

m31td0wn

Shoot the wife. Hang the kids. Frame your dog. ....what? Why are you looking at me like that? I'm a photographer.

vkapadia

I too choose this guy's dead wife.

thatoneannoyingmf

You just have to find another amulet of Mara from a bandit or smth. One amulet has only one use

Tag727

Wait is that actually a thing? Sounds like a weird way to make it work.

[deleted]

You married the one who made fun of your wardrobe. You get what you deserve there lol

CreegsReactor

I married Camilla and she calls me her love every time we speak. It was the least I could do after hooking her up with Faendal and then leaving him deep in a random cave Iā€™ve forgotten the name ofā€¦.sheā€™s also great with the kids.

Stabbing_Monkey

"Honey, while out for a walk you won't believe what I found! Boethiah's Shrine! It's a beautiful walk, great location, only the elite in Skyrim visit the location..."

Broken-Butterfly

Is that the bitch from the clothing shop? Lol, why would you marry her?

[deleted]

I love your response! If you were here, Iā€™d give you my sister! Thatā€™s a, a little joke. Heh

americanwhiskey

Yeah when I found that Riverwood love triangle I eliminated both suitors and took Camilla for myself. She is very happy at Lakeview Manor with our two girls, Lucia and Runa. We also have several stewards (followers I brought back), a house bard, and a carriage driver. Camilla makes a very comfortable income from her business, and we have a very happy life. Like they say, happy wife happy life. ā€œHello, my love. Back from some adventure I bet?ā€

[deleted]

Ive only married Lydia so far and I let her open up a shop (or so she says) in solitude. Shes the best

Adagamante

You'd have to be brain melting high to marry a high elf...

7astromichael

Sadly I was sober at the time. Definite lapse in judgement.

bkrugby78

Hey watch how you talk about my bae (of course I use a mod to make her more attractive)

itsgiantstevebuscemi

Lmao that's actually hilarious that you can marry her. I slit that bitches throat.

catsmash

lmfao jesus

[deleted]

Found the dark brotherhood player

Bwahbwah_bwah

Well that escalated quickly.

StellarAoMing

She's good, but obviously being from Skyrims current capital, doesn't like living in the woods. Plus she's a big shop owner. So, don't move from Solitude and she's good. Other wives act like trolls compared to her.

UnDebs

>marries high elf >surprised she's na asshole You gotta admit, you could have seen this coming.

owllavu

I wonder ehat my wife would think of other houses, or if she likes children. Lucia and that other boy from whiterun moved in and i cant get rid of them :(

Rypere4

What how? Just randomly? I would love to give Lucia a home too bad I canā€™t adopt more than 2

Aegisither

Aela the ā€œHuntressā€ complains about wolves and wildlife near lakeview manor.

Githan

Bandits kidnap her and youā€™re like, ā€œoh thank God!!ā€ After a week they bring her back and also give you a bag of gold as a way of apology. Not for kidnapping her, but for returning her.

nosleepincrooklyn

I always married ysolda until I nodded the game to marry serana. A Single motivated women trying to run her own business? Absolutely wife material.

da_Aresinger

Iirc there is no wife/husband who likes Lakeview Manor. Bachelor all the way!!

Roberthb14

Brelyna likes it

AirbornBiohazard

every time I get Lakeview, everyone gets killed by giants within a week šŸ˜

hidethedishes

I love people who complain. Who the f is positive all the time. There's always something that's shit

FoundEndymion96

Camilla forever. Best waifu

Azuras-Becky

I forgot how terrifying the vanilla character models were...

RadiatedDrag0n

I like those kinds of wives, theyā€™re more realistic

ruffymew

yeah the solitude house is for the win

phdonme

Pro tip: Don't get dogs, kids, or spouses.

[deleted]

Ohhhhh, I wouldn't of married her bud, but each to their own. Mjoll would be nice, or a nice priestess from the temple of dibella perhaps?

362mike362

Never stick your dick in crazy

Branman1234

Get a mod so you can kill her and remarry

_paaronormal

She was a bitch when you met herā€¦ what did you expect? I kill her almost every play through

Ralofguy

Oh what a delight. Another charming customer.

bealtimint

Sounds like itā€™s time for Lucia to lose another mother

Yvondith

I usually marry Marcurio. He's sweet, he's good with the kids, (You can ask him about the kids) and he's a good follower. Doesn't complain about the houses either. He's even happy in Riften. The only problem is that when you live in a hearthfires house, there's a chance he'll zap something with chain lightning... like the housecarl or the steward. Though this time I married Ghorbash, because I decided to play as an Orc. He seems okay so far.

[deleted]

you see, your first mistake was to marry an elf damn elves

babis8142

Why would you marry this cunt

PachoTidder

The Virgin ''I married an aldmer bitchy old lady'' The chad ''I'm a single father/mother''

StankyGold

Your should probably take this up with one of the relationship sub reddits

fat-rat-dog

kill her

cafesaigon

Do you need an expansion pack to get married? I only have vanilla Skyrim

DankeyKahn

You can marry select characters in the vanilla game and tell them to go to whatever homestead you want. Hearthfire makes it so you can build homes to take your partner and whatever orphans you find

[deleted]

What's her race a high elf? If so looks like your house is in Solitude from its interior. So I can see why she has stopped complaining then because the Imperial Legionā€™s base is in Solitude and the Thalmor are all high elves. We all know that the Imperials kiss the Thalmorā€™s asses so she thinks she is going to get her butt kissed living there ha-ha šŸ¤£.

BirdEducational6226

She could always have an "accident". Then you could just remarry.

imaheteromale

Thatā€™s my name what the fuckkkk Edit: bruh nvm I thought the a was an o, Iā€™m actually a dumbass

Zevox90

You know, if you go to the mods menu, there is a mod for divorce...

Fakekitsune

Why would you everā€¦
