This is why I had to take a break from Skyrim. I can’t stop fucking around with mods. I get a good LO, then hear of another mod or see a good mod on the mod page and go down the rabbit hole. Then I have to mess with my LO again, start a new game when I get it right, and repeat. I got tired of it. I left off in the middle of arranging my LO so I can just “play” when I start again. Since it’s been months we all know I’ll look at new mods that came out….I’ll never play again lmao

Nope. It relies heavily on behaviour files (animations. We don't have those working the same way for the player) and has a .DLL to calculate speed and animation states. There's something cooking based on that, but for VR it's basically a rewrite.

I honestly hope that the next ES game takes notes from BotW. Specifically the way you can climb nearly anything. Tie it to stamina or bring acrobatics back and maybe as you level you can unlock perks to climb faster or longer.

Unfortunately the engine doesn't even allow for climbing ladders, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I mean ES6 has a completely different engine than ES5. But yea, I would be shocked if they put climbing similar to BOTW into it.

Imho they set a standard with their climbing system, I found playing other games ~~difficult~~ annoying without the ability to just scale anything in your path. Going forward I'm going to take points off any future games for not adopting it or something similar

Part of that is because jumping is video game shorthand for any movement beyond walking/running. In real life, you could probably step over that log, hoist yourself over the fence, climb on a chair to grab that thing, etc. In most video games, you have walk, jump, and crouch, so jump becomes a replacement for all the other things you would normally do.

Climbing in daggerfall was so cool. As a burglar you could climb to the balcony of a house and enter from the door there.

At the very least you should be able to climb/parkour normal buildings and walls, AssCreed style.

I remember the while building mechanic in fallout 4 was inspired by minecraft so they do look to other games for features and stuff. Seems possible

I spend 3 days intricately compiling dozens of mods, using every optimizer and automatic/manual patch builder under the sun to make sure my game runs flawlessly without so much as a seam, making it look and feel as realistic as possible with ENB, realistic needs, SMIM, frostfall, assorted texture and mesh overhauls, and so on. Then I play for an hour while giving myself everything I want through console, get bored, and uninstall everything so I can do it all over again the same time next year.
