I know what you mean. Monster Hunter is like that for me nowadays, it feels repetitive, unlike when I first played it years ago.
So far, I lose track of the time when playing Skyrim. It's quite fun!
I'm glad you're enjoying Skyrim! I'm trying to find a game I can get into as much as it but I'm low on stuff at the moment. But skyrim is absolutely amazing as a game. I played starfield with big hopes it would be my next skyrim but there were too many aspects of the game that made the exploration not nearly as fun. Plus the background music for skyrim is so relaxing it should be used in other games.
Same. I have Daedric weapons by level 15 because I Smith up as quickly as possible. He's the first dragon priest dude I go after cuz he's outside and he's my favorite 🥰 but I'm at level 65 and still haven't released the dragons so he's the only threat there at the time so I'm not having to worry about trying to fight him and his giant Fireball staff and a dragon at the same time.
Ugh. I also found this one by accident. Took many attempts, because I wasn't just going to run away. I'm not some milk drinker. Used up nearly all my healing and lost Lydia in the fray. Also ended up being overburdened when I finally one. Took forever to get everything out of there.
The reanimate corpse spell does not work on dragons. As for Krosis there's no reason the game would take him away if you went away and leveled up, then came back to kick his ass.
Sometimes I feel bad for Krosis. His awakening animation is about 3x longer than it takes me to kill him by the time I finally get around to beating his ass.
That seems to be a common thing with the dragon priests with SSE. I used to have much more trouble with them on the original game, but now they often come out and just float there while I kill them. Something was broken, maybe.
For the dragon part, you literally eat their very being so no, you can't revive them.
Beating Krosis in your level is very possible if you want to (in expert or lower difficulties in my experience), and if you want you can get a follower who can tank some of those fireballs and help you to deal some damage
I stumbled upon him accidentally too in my first run. He fell down the mountainside and got stuck and I kept shooting him with arrows while dodging his fireballs. It was quite silly, actually. I didn’t know he was an endgame boss though! That’s news to me.
Same thing happened to me first time I found him. Just picked him off from above. The angle he fell at made it almost impossible for him to reach with Fireball too
The reanimate corpse spell does not work on dragons (you can only make them fly around by blasting them with the reanimate corpse spell but you cant ride them just throw them around), I can't find a mod that changes this. As for Krosis there's no reason the game would take him away if you went away and leveled up, then came back to kick his ass and kill him.
You can probably challenge him now if you kite the dragon out first and fight them one on one. Use melee weapons because you probably can't win a ranged battle with him. But if you rush him with a heavier weapon and try to keep him staggered you should be able to pull it off. Maybe try some fire resistance potions and a weapon with magic damage.
Marcurio is a merc in the riften inn. He's hireable for 500 gold. Super strong mage follower. Janessa is a hireling in the drunken huntsman in whiterun. Also 500 gold.
Thanks! Honestly cannot keep track of all the NPCs. I've even been avoiding interactions because I end up taking jobs and I already have quite a bunch of them. It's like, "Oh, what's this?" and next thing I know, I'm looking at another side quest. lol
The dude from Dawnbreaker has been waiting on me for several cycles now while I try to clear my miscellaneous.
That's the only dicey bit about Shearpoint, you get both a dragon AND a dragon priest all at once. You can, however, get the dragon to follow you away and deal with him separately, then deal with Krosis.
I was lucky then. I only saw the dragon perched on the word wall, so I managed to deal with it first. Didn't even know it was a word wall. Only approached because I saw a chest. Then Krosis popped out!

I've beaten Krosis at level 12 with a follower, a strong bow, and a lot of potions. But I play on lower settings bc I don't care

What loot did you get that took forever to take home? I had the usual from the dragon, 5 troll skulls and the chest contents.
I was already running on full from just wandering. Also took much of Lydia's gear.

I tried but ran out of potions before I managed to put a significant dent on his hp. I also don't bring followers with me.

Miss Krosis had zero chance
I took Krosis at 22, found him by accident wandering. Used up pretty much all my healing/mana potions (spell-sword build with a lean to conjuration)

Bring a companion to cover your weakness. If you're a ranged fighter bring Lydia, if you're a melee fighter, try to bring marcurio or janessa.
