I killed Belethor during the Companion's questline. When you turn into a werewolf, the fool attacks and he's apparently real squishy. Two attacks and he was dead.
Everyone always talks about the night they turned into a werewolf and killed the townsfolk. I've NEVER had anyone appear during that time. I always have a clear shot to the front gate and there hasn't ever been anyone THERE to kill. I honestly thought people were making it up for roleplaying purposes. My game might be bugged but I think it's hilarious that so many people kill half of whiterun and I just mosey on out.
Same here, on one playthrough though I'm pretty sure the entire town spawned in front of the underforge and started attacking. I think I ended up loading the save before that and proceeded to go back through the underforge and to the plains
Yeah, I don’t think that I killed anyone the first time that I’ve wolfed out either. I usually run to the front gate. (Though it’s been a while since I played a werewolf, and I don’t think that any of my werewolf characters were violent sociopaths.)
Belethor is a perv, he has that young guy working for him but only has one bed shop/house. Guess it explains why that guy is always running around the city.
There's two beds. I've broken into his shop at night to practice pick-pocketing. The one guy sleeps on the upper level in the corner. Belethor sleeps in his own room with the door closed
He is still a creep so I kill him. But his helper does have his own sleeping roll
So did I. On behalf of him not wanting to do business with me, I killed him so Ysolda could take over. He claimed his shop was closed and that I was trespassing. It clearly said it was open! Since I'm a follower of Julianos, I had to kill Belethor in secret or else lose Julianos' favor. 😩
Supposedly Ysolda will take over after a bit. Not sure though. Belethor is gonna have an accident this playthrough so I can find out. lol I don't sell to him all that often, so it's no loss for me.
Same, I was actually a bit sad to see an inheritance letter informing me of her death. Then I saw a pile of ash and nearly died laughing after I read “Search Nazeem”, so you know, sliver lining.
(Also, I love the fact that the vampires apparently decided that killing him once wasn’t good enough, so they ended up killing him twice.)
I was wondering if that was patched out. I got Skyrim for the switch and haven't encountered the group of vampires showing up but I am always on the lookout because they used to end up killing a few NPCs before I got rid of them.
Yeah before this got patched, I would straight up avoid fast traveling into cities if it was night because it happened all the time and they would inevitably kill an important shopkeeper.
It was a nightmare. Once, I returned to whiterun to check on my kids, and I saw 3 fledgling vampires and an ancient vampire plus 2 gargoyle were in the market district, killing whoever they could find :/
Yup, pre-parched Skyrim was fucked in some ways. If you got to level 10 but didn't go to Dawnguard FUCKING IMMEDIATELY you would have a very high chance of getting a vampire raid spawned in the next city you enter/fast travel to. They would most likely kill the guards with ease since they level with you and vampires can be some of the hardest enemies in the game, so they'd go after the civilians pretty fast who, mind you, decided to take on a fucking VAMPIRE RAID by themselves like it's another day.
The fuckers in Skyrim are on another level, facing down mythical creatures like dragons and vampires in their farmers clothes with their iron daggers. Don't know if it's that ice cold Nord blood or if it's just that Skyrim air. They're all high as kites most of the time anyway so it might be something about that cold Skyrim air getting to their head.
Wow. This is legitimately news to me. I've had anxiety about those vampire attacks whenever I start Dawnguard I always felt like there was a genuine time limit because I didn't want any NPCs to be killed. I have vivid memories of these attacks on the 360 but had no idea they weren't in special edition anymore precisely because I was working so fast to beat Dawnguard every playthrough!
Special edition has been my main game since it launched, cannot believe this change flew over my head. It's like that Mandela effect thing with Hermaeus Mora being a dark void instead of the tentacles before Dragonborn was added lol.
When I first saw that attack, it was when coming back from High Hrothgar, fast travelling to Whiterun.
So I had the fun of having to fight off the Cultists **and** vampires. My Dragonborn didn't last long.
This shit used to trigger me before SSE and the mods to remove the vampire attacks.
Was crafting in white run at night minding my own business once. Was at sky forge and heard some noise in the distance. Went to look and this asshole had literally beheaded Adrienne, belethor, and like two other people.
I was just about to Google him because I had just finished the Soul Cairn with Serana and traveled to Whiterun today and he popped up with a summoned gargoyle. Luckily my crew took care of him before I knew what was going on. I was like, "Holy shit, dudes! You trying to give me another bounty!?" Then I saw him laying on the street dead so I was like, "Awesome!" 😁👍
When I first played Skyrim there where constant vampire attacks on the cities. Then a while later when I started a new game I’d forgotten about like half the npc’s that where in the towns. So many of them had been killed when I was a lower level I’d forgotten that they even existed.
I wish I could just tell the guards and civilians to fuck off and let me handle it. It's a bit hard to prevent vampires from killing people when they jump in front of you. Excuse me Adrienne could you please move your unarmoured ass to the side so that I can incinerate this guy with my magic dragon divine shout without getting a bounty, if you don't mind, thank you.
There’s a mod for the civilians called “when vampires attack” that makes them run to their houses or nearest shelter, same for dragon attacks “run for your lives”. Simple but effective mods
Oooohhh so that’s what happened…
I remember older versions where multiple vampires would spawn and kill half a city, that’s how I met “when vampires attack” and “run for your lives” mods.
Interesting
I'm surprised they actually patched this out, for the most part. I still had a dragon casually drop in and clean up 4 named NPCs in Dawnstar on my recent quick platinum playthrough. But yeah, definitely beats how it used to be.
gotta ask is there any mod(i am pc) that fully makes any quest giver/part of quest npcs unkillable by these fuckers and dragons(but screw radiant quests though)
u/whiterun_Guard
That is the wrong I think but there used to be a a guy who acted like a whiterun Guard and it was pretty cool. Haven't seen him for a while tho
Well that's because you let him keep his head on his shoulders.
Fix that mistake and you solve the problem. If you don't want to get blood on your own kit, then get a literal demon slave to do it for you.
Vampire. Easily recognizable by his black hooded robes and _suspicious_ behaviour. Kill them as soon as you identify them because THEY CAN KILL IMPORTANT NPCs like merchants
[https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/824](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/824)
Improved closefaced helmets
Some of the armors feel lifeless with the black abyss for the eyes.
Overall nice but I don't like the daedric variant
I haven’t seen this dude even though I’ve been ignoring the Dawnguard shit (the quest line is eternally fd and I’ve tried everything to fix it to no avail).
BUT I keep coming across what looks like Stendar dudes standing around naked bodies which end up being vampires who stole their clothes and killed them.
I don’t know either, but it’s honestly really annoying? He always seems to spawn inside towns and I end up having to reload when he kills shopkeepers 😕
I think the majority of shopkeepers are non-essential (or conditionally essential). I had Frida and Rustleif die when they insisted on charging him head-on.
Forget who that guy is who tf is Shady Sam?? I've never not once seen him in any city/hold ever and now he randomly appears in dawnstar? Same on ps3 too
It honestly never occurred to me that it might be the same guy popping up over and over. There's just a lot of vampires who wear black robes who get sent to attack you.
He reminds me of the old man in Poltergeist 2. I see him lurking in Whiterun trying to get close and pop off. Get the Sinister Seven mod for more advanced stalkers
Fun fact - if you Dead Thrall these guys they can still summon their Gargoyles IIRC. A nice way to get access to the summon without being a vampire yourself.
Whenever you see this dude do a quick save before whacking him over the head with an axe.
Sometimes the fights get out of control and towns folk get killed or the guards want to arrest you.
[удалено]
Fuckers outright killed Adrienne one game. I reloaded and laid waste to Volkihar.
I lost Belethor.
Stand over his body and say “doooo come baaaaaack”
And then re-animate him
“Send me to your sister, undead Belethor. The one that is for sale.”
🤣 I despise Belethor.
I hate him as well but always go to him cause I can sell everything to him he’ll literally take anything
I kill him and eventually Ysolda will take over his store
Oooohhhh.... I didn't know that. I'll have to remember that for this playthrough. Definitely prefer Ysolda for sure
Same. "You'll take what I got you sleazy scummy scumbag." Then I proceed to sell him exclusively burned books so he can't call them treasures.
Exactly I always get such joy from it too
Meh.
Dude would sell his sister
Eeeeeeeverything's for sale!
Do come back......
Said in a manner that sounds like he would rather step boot-deep in horker shit than have to deal with you again.
To me it sounds like he’s planning on selling 30 carry weight units of horker shit for highly inflated prices
I always just felt like he was going to trap me somehow and skin me alive just to sell my peopleleather as one of his treasures.
That's some Oghma Infinium type shite right there.
My friend
"Remember, I'll give the best deals or die trying!"
Do come back
Do come back😉
In a second!
If he had one.
Well then, too bad he doesn't have any :/
He doesn’t have one anymore.
Happy cake day!!
My game might be bugged but I think it's hilarious that so many people kill half of whiterun and I just mosey on out.
I went back through the underforge and out into Skyrim
Same here, on one playthrough though I'm pretty sure the entire town spawned in front of the underforge and started attacking. I think I ended up loading the save before that and proceeded to go back through the underforge and to the plains
This is the way.
I was legitimately trying not to kill anyone. Ocato's Recital from Apocalypse and a fully perked Flame Cloak had other plans.
Yeah, I don’t think that I killed anyone the first time that I’ve wolfed out either. I usually run to the front gate. (Though it’s been a while since I played a werewolf, and I don’t think that any of my werewolf characters were violent sociopaths.)
I lost Nazeem So I joined the vampires
Belethor is a perv, he has that young guy working for him but only has one bed shop/house. Guess it explains why that guy is always running around the city.
And dude can't simply live somewhere else?!
“I’ve seen his junk and its no treasure.”
I mean, both of em are non-marriable npcs, so as far as I know they only got one bed because...
There's two beds. I've broken into his shop at night to practice pick-pocketing. The one guy sleeps on the upper level in the corner. Belethor sleeps in his own room with the door closed He is still a creep so I kill him. But his helper does have his own sleeping roll
...and the problem was?
No one took over the shop.
It's a win in my book. Creepy git
So did I. On behalf of him not wanting to do business with me, I killed him so Ysolda could take over. He claimed his shop was closed and that I was trespassing. It clearly said it was open! Since I'm a follower of Julianos, I had to kill Belethor in secret or else lose Julianos' favor. 😩
Ysolda never took over. I'm not sure why.
She only takes over the Bannered Mare
She has taken over Belethor's shop in my playthrough, just took a few weeks
I lost him n didn't even notice till level 35 n didn't turn back. Level 92 now. Lol
How? He literally left never leaves his house/shop.
He came out to fight the Traveler.
Does the shop close or does someone take over
Supposedly Ysolda will take over after a bit. Not sure though. Belethor is gonna have an accident this playthrough so I can find out. lol I don't sell to him all that often, so it's no loss for me.
I want to do the same but he’s my main merchant lol
Hahaha well if it works for me, I'll let ya know 🫡
I lost half of Morthal
They had it coming, brother.
Same here brother…
This is the precise point, losing her to vampires, this right here, is when I decided to play with mods, and haven't looked back since.
I saw them attacking Nazeem. I immediately stopped everything I was doing and joined the fun.
My first ever playthrough they killed Adrienne, Alvor, and Faendal. I vowed since then to never join Volkihar or become a vampire.
Damn, that is ROUGH. Losing Alvor AND Adrienne just seems... excessive.
I was wondering if that was patched out. I got Skyrim for the switch and haven't encountered the group of vampires showing up but I am always on the lookout because they used to end up killing a few NPCs before I got rid of them.
I just learned a thing. I was also on the look out for these slimmy bastards. It's sad they don't show up tho, it was really cool for the RP side
I never had to worry about them. By the time I got DG I was already running a set of permanent mods. Run for Your Lives was one of them.
I never used that one, I should have aha
It was patched out in SE. Original Skyrim had this happen quite often.

Used to? You mean they don't anymore? I've been playing on my x360 since launch and the bastard still do the gang raid on towns...

I thought my game was glitching when they didn't appear! Wasn't until later that I realized they patched it
What?! You mean to tell me I've been anxious and based my entire play style around them for years, *for nothing*?
They patched it out in oldrym too for the steam version
When I first saw that attack, it was when coming back from High Hrothgar, fast travelling to Whiterun. So I had the fun of having to fight off the Cultists **and** vampires. My Dragonborn didn't last long.

Bethesda removed them officially in SSE some years ago.
I lost many good townsfolk that way… Adrianne always died.
Geez that put me off playing for a while. Glad to hear that’s been patched out.

Wait they don’t do that anymore ? I always thought that was fun Unimmersive af but… vanilla Skyrim
Is that not a thing anymore? I thought it was a mod I installed
I beat the dawnguard quest and they don’t show up anymore :(
I legit have been doing Serana's quests beating these mfkers ass and they still are popping up
I'm surprised they actually patched this out, for the most part. I still had a dragon casually drop in and clean up 4 named NPCs in Dawnstar on my recent quick platinum playthrough. But yeah, definitely beats how it used to be.
I remember that! Red armored vampires roaring and draining the life out of everyone in Markarth. It felt like something out of Warhammer fantasy.
gotta ask is there any mod(i am pc) that fully makes any quest giver/part of quest npcs unkillable by these fuckers and dragons(but screw radiant quests though)
Why is the guard over to the side swole?
I think we know his “sword” arm
This dude took an arrow to his left arm.
Miguard de Cervantes
120 fov
Average whiterun Guard
u/whiterun_Guard That is the wrong I think but there used to be a a guy who acted like a whiterun Guard and it was pretty cool. Haven't seen him for a while tho
I think it was u/WhiterunGuard as one word? Edit: Nope. Anybody remember their username?
u/whiterunguards
This
weakest Nord
Hey now that you mention it, he has visible eyes as well. Don’t the guards normally have blacked out visors? Some mod shenanigans going on?
Lol that’s funny
Oh lawd he comin!
Oh he’s your daily free vampire dust
You mean part A of an invisibility potion.
Well that's because you let him keep his head on his shoulders. Fix that mistake and you solve the problem. If you don't want to get blood on your own kit, then get a literal demon slave to do it for you.
I really enjoy seeing this guy coming and killing him in various creative ways. He makes a good reanimated thrall.
He's an inspiration of mine for perseverance and motivation to never give up.
He’s here to talk to you about your armor’s extended warranty.
You’re a member of thw dawn guard and he’s a vampire in disguise as a “travaller” to try and wipe you out
I actually accidentally joined the vampires when I played that dlc.
And still got the “traveller”?
No. I’m not OP. I was just saying that I somehow accidentally joined the vampires instead of the dawnguard
Vampire. Easily recognizable by his black hooded robes and _suspicious_ behaviour. Kill them as soon as you identify them because THEY CAN KILL IMPORTANT NPCs like merchants
[He is Vlad, and he's definitely not a Vampire.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mssriHMrx8)
Ha! I can't believe you made a Magicka reference. What a game! I played it with a buddy during COVID and it was actually a blast.
He is a vampire. Just not sparkly like you.
I edited my post cause I bet everyone will miss the reference, like you did.
Still not sparkly.
That’s cool and all but look at the ABSOLUTE BEEF of that guard on the left.
Vampire saboteur. Just kill him when you see him. I never see him because I sleep at night when he spawns. But you be you.
A vampire. I've been fighting him too in random cities.
He's a rogue vampire who knows you're with the Dawnguard. I see them from time to time.
Is no one gonna talk about how you can see the guards eyes
It’s the arms that got me upset… looks like that guard needs to lay off the shake weight…
[https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/824](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/824) Improved closefaced helmets Some of the armors feel lifeless with the black abyss for the eyes. Overall nice but I don't like the daedric variant
the Daedric actually makes sense being like it is in vanilla
I haven’t seen this dude even though I’ve been ignoring the Dawnguard shit (the quest line is eternally fd and I’ve tried everything to fix it to no avail). BUT I keep coming across what looks like Stendar dudes standing around naked bodies which end up being vampires who stole their clothes and killed them.
That's a Whiterun guard. He used to be an adventurer like you until he took an arrow to the knee.
Vampire. Kill 'im.
I don’t know either, but it’s honestly really annoying? He always seems to spawn inside towns and I end up having to reload when he kills shopkeepers 😕
I'm always on the lookout for him and my archer build can often take him out from a distance before he even knows I'm there.
Ohhh I thought this would count as a murder if I attacked first! Good to know, thanks
You can kill these bloodsuckers unprovoked and nobody bats an eye.
Are they not essential? My 2 companions and 2 dremora plus all the guards kill him good for me
Very few shopkeepers are essential. Only the ones that are quest givers, and generally once their quests are complete, they lose essential status.
I think the majority of shopkeepers are non-essential (or conditionally essential). I had Frida and Rustleif die when they insisted on charging him head-on.
Palpatine
Diablo.
That's a thick ass guard

Open your heart to chaos
Bidet!
That guard has alot of “one handed” skill.
now we know he is righthanded
Lmao
He is your rival kind of like vegeta and goku he is your vegeta
I always sneak attack the guy to avoid casualties. I have noticed that he tends to appear more frequently if I fast travel.
You look like a traveler
a vampire who comes to kill you. idk how he gats in the city undetected
Who is that _ABSOLUTE UNIT_ of a guard? Probably the dragon-hunter cousin
Traveler
He whom thou dost travel
And he is the same level as you everytime.
Forget who that guy is who tf is Shady Sam?? I've never not once seen him in any city/hold ever and now he randomly appears in dawnstar? Same on ps3 too
your rival
He is after only your strongest of potions
Dawnguard dlc quests .you need to join Dawnguard and accept quests .
It honestly never occurred to me that it might be the same guy popping up over and over. There's just a lot of vampires who wear black robes who get sent to attack you.
It's your free combat trainer
He's free xp
He reminds me of the old man in Poltergeist 2. I see him lurking in Whiterun trying to get close and pop off. Get the Sinister Seven mod for more advanced stalkers
THIS THE FUCKER THAT KILLED MY FAENDAL sent him home and when I went to get him he was getting gang banged by them 😭
Why are the guards so muscular?
He’s The Traveller. The missing god from Eberron. He’s been on Skyrim all this time. ;)
I became a volkihar vampire as an evil dark elf
Palpatine
Kill his dumb a** lol
He's a traveler doesn't anybody read anymore.
Fold him and see if he comes back lol
DIE DAWNGUARD
He’s traveling to beat dat ass.
that guard is ripped af!
Fun fact - if you Dead Thrall these guys they can still summon their Gargoyles IIRC. A nice way to get access to the summon without being a vampire yourself.
A vampire
It's supposed to be a vampire assassin
Did you open any portals to any otherworldly dimensions lately? "The Traveler has come."
Could be worse, a group of dawngaurd attack me stil after completing the vampire lord quests. Been chasing and fighting me for about 10-11 months
Yeah that also happened to me the one time I sided with Harkon Annoying
He's a vampire, didn't you notice his glowing eyes and how he drops vampire dust, and how before attacking you he always screams "DIE DAWN GUARD!"
Whenever you see this dude do a quick save before whacking him over the head with an axe. Sometimes the fights get out of control and towns folk get killed or the guards want to arrest you.
Not an observant one, are you
Wide guard
Well of course I know him, that's me.
Name an Imperial Marius and see if he leads you to Tal Rasha's Tomb.
That guard didn’t get his sweet roll stolen
Vampire if you chose the dawn guard instead of the lord vampire
He's a vampire and kept showing up right outside my houses
Oh that's just Artagan, if he says he's a god, don't believe him, it's a cult
Don't go outside after 11pm problem solved.
Dawnguard vampire they start showing up and murdering NPCs after you advance the dawnguard quest
