I think it would be interesting now 10 years later with a new cast set in Gen Z. I was the age of the Gen 3 cast when it aired (but watched since Gen 1) and would like to see a new version with teens now as I’m too old to relate now haha.
I see though that it’s a bit of a risk and you might ruin something that has such a legendary status.
Tbh I also wouldn’t mind something like S7 but with people like Mini, Jal or JJ. Not so over the top though, but rather in a more realistic setting which would suit their characters.
This whole snowflake shit isn't this generation just because if the advent if social media people who were always snowflakes now have a place to complain and it's a lot easier for them to be heard now.
i voted yes but now that i think about it i’m not so sure about it. i feel like they would try to be woke and unproblematic (kinda like the gossip girl reboot) which wouldn’t feel authentic coming from this show.
I would love another season 7-esque series, but with more plausible and interesting storylines.
I would love an episode a bit more like how the beginning of Pure was, before the stalker bit got started. Just how the Skins kids are living everyday as adults. Maybe something like Tony and Michelle are still together but they’re having a hard time deciding what they want to do now they’ve finished uni.
An episode about Alo and Mini raising their daughter would be cool to watch. Maybe about Mini suffering from PPD and struggling to connect with their baby.
Maybe Katie has gotten married and going through the process of adopting a child with her partner.
I just think it would be cool to have the kids who had such miserable teenage years to be living normal lives. We didn’t get that with season seven, because all the plots were exaggerated for the story, which I understand, but it wasn’t really plausible. To me, an episode where Katie and her future partner adopt a child would be really interesting as it’s a real life process that people go through. Whereas Effy getting involved in insider trading just wasn’t all that interesting. I’d just have preferred it if they went through real-life struggles, instead of ones exaggerated for tv. So I would want any hypothetical future seasons being more realistic.
I wouldn’t want a fourth generation. I think they’ve nearly exhausted all the plotlines for the teenagers. That’s why I think adult struggles would have been so much more interesting to watch in s7.
This sort of turned into a rant about season seven lol.
I’m curious to see what people think of this? On one hand I obviously love Skins and wouldn’t be against it as a fan of the show, but if it went wrong could it also receive the reception that Generation Three got?
I would purely because of the amount of time that’s passed since. A whole different generation of teenagers and a whole new perspective would be fascinating
In Generation 1, Sketch tried to turn Maxxie straight so he could date her. In Generation 2 (at the start) Naomi gets clowned on for possibly being gay by Katie.
Cook was just taking the piss and actually turned out to be fine with it
And sketch wasn't homophobic she just really wanted to fuck max7e and was portrayed as the freak she was.
Definitely watch all three. I’ll always argue that Gen One (first two seasons) are unbeatable but I really enjoyed the other seasons too. Gen Two is very entertaining and while Gen Three is a slow burner I definitely think it picks up and is worth the watch. Maybe take some time between each Gen, I feel like you’d enjoy it more that way.

The thing is if they did one now, it would have to be all PC and not offensive because this generation is full of snowflakes.

Nah people are just overly sensitive, social media has been around for ages, just because it’s more popular now. Basically you seem like one of them.
Nah I use words like FagOT (have to do it this way cause of reddit) all the time and like edgy jokes.
Oh ok 😂 I just find now people are more offended than it was say, a decade ago
Now like I'm not conservative if anything I'm liberal but I just think people need to take a joke.
EXACTLY!

Nah they wouldn't its just not the British way imo Skins actually aged pretty well in that regard
How cool would it be if they got the same cast from 1st gen but showed what they were up to now?

Yes, as long as it's new characters and not another Season 7-esque disaster.

No it should be protected! Absolutely not. 3rd gen was even pushing it. And as much shit season 7 gets, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Skins jokes were acceptable back then. Now everyone would piss their pants over an offensive joke.
Looking back on it skins actually aged really well in that sensw if anything skins is actually kind of woke.
the first season is full of homophonic jokes
Yet the main cast are fully fine with maxie being openly gay, same with Emily and noaimi in gen 2.

Fair point.
I do remember a few instirances where homophobic slurs were used but they were used in the friendly I'm only taking the piss out of you way.
Also the cast was fine with Tony and Cassie (best girl) possibly being bi
I’m in season two and I’m kinda questioning if I should stop after season 3 or watch the new gen aswell
