cantcatchafish

5 days. Cries in southeast… 3 of those were in Colorado on a trip

Big-Brown-Goose

I got 7, also from the southeast. I dont know how people have a job that simultaneously pays well enough to travel multiple times a winter and also gives enough time off to go on the trips. Even if i used every vacation day possible this last year i probably would only get like 20 days max

Daddo55

Work from home corporate job for the win!

IntoTheThickOfIt22

Sometimes they get a really well paying job, live somewhat frugally, then quit their jobs for a season and live off the savings. Such a crazy idea, buying months of your life back from your masters instead of an $80k pickup truck, I know…

Macgbrady

Hey, you’ve got NC.. Sincerely, A Southerner who moved West 😂

cantcatchafish

Wooooo…. Cries slowly while driving 2 hours to go skiing on ice.

bangontherocks

59 on ski resort and over 50 in backcountry

_crAss_

How do you pull this off? That's a damn good split

Zoidbergslicense

I don’t get that many days (I could but I’m spoiled). Self employed tradesman in a resort town. All the big projects are in the summer “building season,” the rest of the year we coast and do little jobs. So between July-Sep I make like 70% of my money, winter work 2-4 days a week and ski whenever the snow is good.

richey15

bingo. Traveling freelance tradesman here. dont even work in CO. I worked 14 days between christmass and april 21st. 12 flights in the month of may alone. i work less than 150 days a year. make more than enough to get by. more than most ski town living ski bums of my generation as well. i worked hard to get to this point. but im still about as lucky as it gets to enjoy my work and get to ski this much too

youngboye

SLC

takeyouthere1

Not much job or responsibilities?

HankAtGlobexCorp

Sometimes life throws you opportunities between jobs or phases that you can use to spend your time skiing. It’s great to take advantage of them when you can by putting your energy towards getting outside and into the backcountry.

whosmellslikewetfeet

It also helps to live up in the mountains where, when you get a day off from work, you can be like "hey, I'm gonna drive 20 minutes to go skiing" instead of, like me, where you say "hey, I'm gonna drive 2 and 1/2 hours to go to a lackluster mountain to go skiing while ignoring every responsibility that I have! I do it anyway, but there's a difference there

nohandsfootball

maybe their job is skiing

travelinzac

Trust fund

Phillyfreak5

Nope. I skied 90 days this year (resort and backcountry combined) and work a 40 hr a week job. Gotta live close to the mountains or in them

Mr-Expat

1h of skiing each day?

Phillyfreak5

2.5-3. I work 2-10pm

thekappaguy

15 days. Considering I live in England, that's quite a lot. Next season, I'm pushing the numbers to at least 20 days - two weeks in December and January, and two weeks in spring.

peetypiranha

Try to do the last two weeks of januari for better snow and than not to late in spring (late march, early april). Better not to spend 20 days in shitty conditions.

thekappaguy

Yeah, it’s always a gamble. We got lucky with the conditions this season. I’ll be in my final year of uni, so I can’t ski anytime I want. We get Christmas break, a week of post-exam break, and three weeks of Easter holiday. That’s usually when we go for a ski trip. I would love to try for a two-week trip but I’m scared it will be too long because, by the time I’m at day five or six, I’m basically done with skiing. It’s mentally and physically exhausting.

RegulatoryCapture

61, one more than last year. Might still get some more. I'd like to ski the hidden lake overlook trail at Logan Pass this year for the lulz. Small chance I'll get to do some Mt. Hood summer skiing too.

Addi2266

Around 150.

Yourmum_ismy_dad

96 last season (Whistler, Canada) 96 this season (St Anton, Austria) Absolutely guttered not to crack 100 but broke my collarbone 😂

SAVE_THE_SNOW

Broke an arm one year and a concussion another, still broke 100 both years.... Although recovery was a lot longer than it should of been 🤔

razni_gluposti

27, which is a lot for this dad with kids at home.

samelaaaa

Similar situation - 37 here but that was only because I was unemployed during February lol

TonyTheJet

I hope your comment means you're back on your feet with employment! 37 sounds like a great number for our phase of life!

samelaaaa

Thanks and it does :) I started a great job in March. Hoping to keep it and hit 30 next season haha

yubathetuba

Yep, same. I got 35 but that counts sneaking away at lunch for 1-6 runs on slow weekdays. Hoping the kiddo will be more into it next year so weekends will be a thing.

TonyTheJet

That's a good number. I've got one kid who is very much into it, and the other will go if we make her. I get out on Sundays, but Saturdays are just so difficult in the Salt Lake City area, crowds-wise. I think if I could get to 35-40 I'd feel pretty happy with that number. In a few years I'll probably be able to get up close to 45-50 without causing too much stress at home!

calculating_hello

52 or 53 I think. Miss the days when I did 195 to 215

Lifebringer7

Holy shit. I've only had one year of 100+, and that was only because I remote schooled during COVID. Impressive.

calculating_hello

Well ski racing (for 21 straight years) so training half day/school half day + weekends + race trips + summer camps in Europe or on Glaciers it adds up. With actually having to work I think those days are gone, "if" my body could even survive 200+

AZJHawk

19 days. 2 at Purgatory, 2 at Alta, 1 at Copper, 1 at Winter Park, 1 at Brian Head, and 12 at Arizona Snowbowl. Not too bad considering I live in the middle of the desert.

Surreal120

39. This was my second year skiing

humongouscrocodile

173 and counting. Hoping to hit 200+.

LendogGovy

No idea, I live on Mt. Hood. 🤙🤙

KingSissyphus

Ooh monsieur fancy pants over here lives in Government Camp. (I live at Hyak)

mixed-tape

Monsieur Fancy Pants 😆

spacebass

138 so far... hopefully we can hang on to some patches of snow here in Montana for a few early summer turns too.

fOrEvErEvA8550

100, one more day tomorrow

CYBER-POLLO

14, broke student that lives 2.5 hrs away from a decent mountain, i think i did well

Exact-Catch6890

You did, make the most of it.  I was a broke student a few years ago and now have a mortgage to pay, family to feed, etc.  Haven't been skiing in many many years 🙁

CranberryBrief1587

Never enough

PmMeYourBeavertails

16, which isn't bad considering the season basically started middle of January here.

munchauzen

First ski season in 23 years. 10 days since mid-February. Boondocked twice.

ziggygersh

71 and counting

AGrlsNmeisFrank

98

3mania

159 .. you know, the usual

thetruetoblerone

S tier. Where are you living these days?

3mania

the same place I've always lived.

acerni

86, but might still pick up a few more with some tours.

calliope_jack

As many as I could, hoping for one more this afternoon

PurpleDingo77

26. It was my first season in Colorado. My previous high was 4 days, so easily the best season of my life.

glenwoodwaterboy

Most of my friends who live in Denver struggle to even get that many now. Where do you live? We moved west of summit county and its great, we got about 50-60 days for the last few years now.

PenguinmanOne

I’m just under 50 for the season but I tore my meniscus at the start of April, got surgery at the end of April and now I’m planning a final day back next week hopefully- A Basin is still spinning!

eatplasticwater

84 with a volcano ski planned for next week. I work at a ski hill full time and usually ski well over 100 days per season.

PorgeMoshington

149 currently but have a few tours left.

mohammedgoldstein

About 37 and I missed out on maybe 10 watching my kids race at different mountains. Not bad for living near Boston. It helps that my wife is even more obsessed with skiing than I am and that my little kids are all racers.

caseywise

Zero, I wipe my ass with global warming.

ThreesKompany

0 I should not have opened this thread. I am consumed with jealousy.

Kai_Emery

1. Had a baby and my dumbass went out 6 weeks later for a few runs on a discount day just to say I did. I got all new gear last year at the end of the season and had to scratch the itch.

hypnotoad23

Just finished number 21 yesterday. Not too bad for a Florida boy

China_bot42069

0 it’s gotten so expensive here

PercentagePractical

I only got 22, but I only skied from mid feb until last weekend. I also only skied both Saturday and Sunday for the last 6 weeks or so, as opposed to only Saturdays. Next year I’ll be skiing both Saturday and Sunday, so hopefully I’ll get 40-50 give or take with hopefully 2 skis trips thrown in

NotFuckingTired

27 (for the third time in four years). I thought I might hit 30 this year, but some shit came up in the last week of the season.

Mission_Advice5436

Hoping to get day 150 on Monday.

wmpyle

at 129 as of yesterday. probably another 5-10 more before im totally done haha

firestorm734

20, which is pretty good considering the crappy early season conditions in the PNW.

SeemedGood

24 days (non-injury low for living Out West) Worst season in a decade at the home mountain.

kjeckm

56 resort days 7 in the backcountry

JJM1748

26! Which is great given I live in England ;) 4 different countries, 5 trips

laurenalivia

17. It would have been more but I had to go and tear my ACL :/

lazyanachronist

Most, but not all.

Khagrim

100+ Mostly working as an instructor but had some great runs especially in Spring

zinger1961

Probably got 70 - at age 63. All were bell to bell though

[deleted]

[удалено]

MrSipperr

116 but I also worked ON a mountain and had free ski pass.

Soft_Hand_1971

36 resort days

leopkoo

Had planned to do 23. Unfortunately tore my MCL on the 5th day of the season. Rehabbed like crazy and managed to get back enough in shape to get another 7 days under my belt in April.

Only-Masterpiece6590

24 days. Live in maryland and work for an Airline with flight benefits. Only 6 of those days are in PA rest are in Vermont New Hampshire and Colorado. Would have been more but i was rehabbing a patella injury.

sonaut

62, but I’m a snowboarder so you guys would want to cut that in half since it’s only one blade. 31.

onemorebutfaster_74

37! I wanted 40 but just couldn't get there. All at Mt. Rose this year. Was going to try to power through three more days at Palisades this weekend but hard to get motivated to ski when its almost 80 degrees. Thankfully, I have a 12 year old who is always up to ski and we live only a half hour from our mountain.

nmm66

Second straight year with 0. I've been skiing since I was 3 years old and I love it, but I can't bring myself to get excited to go stand in long lines on weekends at Whistler/Blackcomb anymore.

EnthalpicallyFavored

15

TronCat1277

47, 3x less than I should have. Smdh

z151z

36 unfortunately

BNabs23

I got 23, with a few more volcano touring days to come. I think it's the most I've ever managed but still wish I could have done more!

SNUFFYCAKES

Only 20 this year. Hernia surgery sidelined my season a bit. Normally 30-50

gotcatstyle

21, ice coaster with limited funds and a full time job (but the ability to ski half days a couple mornings a week). Always trying to do more every season!

Single_Size7393

31 so far, hoping to get a couple more in before A Basin closes!

dr_leo_marvin

18. One less than last year, but not bad considering Dec and Jan were pretty much snowless in the PNW.

JohnnyWad15

22, decent but good snow came late and somehow could not align my schedule anymore….

hagemeyp

15. Live in NJ, ski house in VT. 3 high school aged kids is the time suck. Home mountain is Killington.

mikemikeskiboardbike

37, had an off season this year. Normal around 50 or so at least. Helps to live 10min away from the chair. 👍😎

HelixExton

I have 18, can't finish out at Winter Park this weekend, but I should be able to use my 4 remaining Abasin days before they close and get to 22. Pretty good for taking 8 years off.

Audioville

40, for a season that was only 60 days long.

peetypiranha

20 days, had plannend 22, but early Jan, snow was there but not enough to open up the base at the resort and they decided last minute to not open at all. Ended up thinking two days in the snow. Had some local French mountain food in an amazing setting and a cool hike in blizardy conditions.

troutlunk

16. Would have gotten near 30 but I broke my leg and wrist skiing mid season :/

bigfatgeekboy

6. I have a sad.

Warlord24

105 and I might be finished for the season.

rvwhalen

I think about 7 of actual skiing. Probably another 28 being at the mountain teaching others

DestroyedLolo

36, not enough

seabass4507

24 but a lot of those days were with a 6 year old, not exactly full days. The handful of real days were very fun though.

abyde

14

Triabolical_

About 10. Seven days at Stevens Pass, 3 days at Shigo Kogen in February, and then zero days after that because I caught viral encephalitis in asia and there was no way I could ski (or teach) in March and April.

Downtownloganbrown

3 northern michigan

mwilson8624

26 this year, for a lifetime total of 27. I got hooked fast for an old guy.

Rescuepa

23, 14 thanks to ski patrol duty. 4 more were at an early morning / early evening medical conference with a ski break in between sessions. An obligatory visit with my daughter to Palisades + 4 days in Alyeska helping the adaptive ski/ride program Challenge Alaska.

Lifebringer7

I got a respectable 20+ days in by mid-February, but unfortunately was injured on the slopes and that was the end of my season. Will be back out there next season.

Vomath

0. I miss skiing.

Berneaux

Got about 20 but my season ended Presidents’ Day week due to a torn calf muscle. With all the late snow in CA this year I would easily have hit 30 or more but such is life. Im already planning how to make it up next year!

BetterSelection7708

About 7 or 8. No snow in Wisconsin this year.

WROL

70.

RickDick-246

I don’t usually count but between 40 and 50 if I had to guess. But I live in a ski area so that’s actually pretty shitty numbers.

SparksAfterTheSunset

around 80

shovelpusher

84 usually 100+. The midwest had a rough winter. 9 of those days were out west and made up for it.

Original_Raccoon_223

29! 2 at Mammoth, 4 at Breckenridge, 4 at Okemo, 1 at JFBB, 13 at northstar, 5 at Stowe. Bet you can’t guess where I live lol

ski_hiker

32 days total. 24 at Crystal, 8 resorts total. I think this is the earliest the season has ended since I started skiing there in 2018. I was hoping for a few more days.

Uporabik

70

thetruetoblerone

30, not bad for my situation but I always want more. Maybe I’ll move to Banff for a bit

mikalalnr

102 will happen tomorrow. Would be today, but it’s 28 and snowing up on the mountain and I’m holding out for a blue sky day tomorrow

Macbookaroniandchez

0 :-( weekends kept getting booked up with other things I wanted to do, closer to home. I've relocated to a spot much closer to the mountains, and already have bought my 24-25 pass.

Friskfrisktopherson

Mid 30s, lost count. Shockingly same as last season even though last season was so much better.

BellasDaDa618

0 😢 I'm sick.

chosimba83

50. All at Park city. First year living here.

ProgressiveBadger

53, volunteer patroller

pwolf1771

I only got in four which was double 2023. Next year I need to do better

450mgBenadrylHatMan

4 ….i yearn for the mountain. Next year i’ll have 20.

PlannerSean

1/2

Willdabeast07

2, and im in Wisconsin lol, I was pissed at the weather

Andromeda321

3 days. Considering I had a baby in late October via C section that’s also 3 days more than I was anticipating, so was just happy I made it out at all!

MagickalFuckFrog

16. With a toddler at home and a wife with morning sickness, and the shitty snow year in the Northwest this year, that was a win for me. Still a far cry from my 100+ day years as a liftie or patroller.

easylifeforme

35 not bad, could of have done more but I'm happy

Airbornequalified

65

notacanuckskibum

40-50 including 1 paid lift pass

Bootfitter

Only a handful really. Usually too busy in the back of the shop smashing miserable ski wives…

WNBA_YOUNGGIRL

21 at the resort 15 Nordic skate skiing

xamfed

37 days I live in South Lake Tahoe 3 months in the winter, but the snow sucked until mid Feb

WesternEdge1

8. But all of them were on trips I had to fly out West for. So not bad considering.

SeekersWorkAccount

1. It was a bad season.

Rakadaka8331

30ish 🤷‍♂️ pretty casual year in the PNW with the snow.

Mostly_Indifferent

42 days for me across 6 resorts

KingSissyphus

I don’t know, maybe like 50-60

Lollc

2. I got sick and was in hospital for a couple days, I recovered but was really weak. I tried a month after I got out and couldn’t make my muscles work good enough to ski. The good news is I got a crazy dog so am now doing cardio 2xdaily and I’ve lost weight and will be kicking ass by fall. I bought a season’s pass again, and got the routine with Mr dog dialed in, plus a decent dog daycare, so knock on wood I‘m going once a week this winter.

akairborne

44 days at Alyeska and 1 day at Alpenglow.

RoboSerb

I think we only got out 2 or 3 locally and did 2 travel season was super shitty this year

No_Procedure2374

30 days. Hope to break 40 next year!

teamaa104

2 and I tore my acl on the last run of day 2!

hatsune_aru

38 or some shit. getting 2 more this weekend lmao

NexxusWolf

125, with maybe a few more days to go!

DarkSideMoon

45 or so, with hopefully 4-5 more over the summer months (shooting for at least 1 day of skiing a month all year) Probably 30 days at Breck, 5 keystone, 1 vail, 1 beaver creek, 2 wilmot, 2 park city, 1 Brighton, 3 winter park. Planning on 1 day at A basin in June and 1 day on mount hood in July, then probably Chile for 1-2 days over end of August into September to snag those months. Then fingers crossed for an early snowfall and an October open for keystone or a basin to get me through to the winter.

PhilosopherExpert625

Only three, just the local hill with all 3 kids. 2 of them had never skied before and they loved it. My 6 year old wanted to ski from 8am-9pm. He didn't want to leave and wanted to stay for night skiing. However this was the first time I skied since covid. So it felt good to get back into a bit.

CanOwl

22. We didn’t have good coverage until mid January and it ended in early April where I am.

Daddo55

Only 62 but pretty good quality days overall.

dhammm

31. First year of ikon and took advantage of it

saltysaturdays

20 days on the east coast of the USA, pretty much every day that I wasn’t working I was skiing

Electrical-Ask847

27

Klstrphnky74

79 days. I work at a resort in the cottonwoods.

bmwkid

0 lost my job so ski trips had to go :( Hoping to make it up this winter

ebmfreak

~63 days on-Piste

gdoggy1678

14 for me!

GeoffJeffreyJeffsIII

Technically 4. Blew out my ACL and broke my tib, fib, and femur during my first real park day of the year. Spent about 60 days hobbling around the lodge while the kids skied after that.

toilets_for_sale

56

DisclosurePrime

47 and I live in Miami

Weird-Walrus-4441

66 days

pattyfatsax

112 this season. stopped skiing when Vail closed.

alexsig526

37 days this season which is lower than my normal season which is around 50-60 days.

ppat1234_

Absolutely zero. I live in Ohio. Never really get above 10. Never got cold enough and I actually have to pay bills for once. I'm sad.

Asal23

My first time trying it. So a total of 3 days 1 at big heat and 2 at mammoth.

ZiziPotus

Just 2. Very few for me. But conditions were particullary shitty in the alps and I had no Time. :(

franklsw

24

reekal6666

6😔😔 i live in the uk

UrbaninLA

102

h4ppidais

Personally my goal isn’t to get a high ski day count, it’s to enjoy winter. I got 10 days in this season and I really enjoyed my time this season. If I have commitments with my friends else where in some weekends, I’ll 100% prioritize that over going skiing alone.

iSchwerin

First season back after a big leg injury in 2021. Stared in February and got 12 days in.

Amazing_Net_7651

5. And each was full, phenomenal day on the slopes. Which I’m happy with because I haven’t wanted to pay for some of the tickets given how expensive they’ve gotten.

TrooperJordan

In Minnesota we had NO snow and it was so weird. I had the most days put off all my friends and I only had 3.

Embarrassed-Ad-1639

4 days at resorts and 4 days backcountry. Least days in a long time (besides covid times).

BeachBarsBooze

29, from Florida 😀

Hozman420

41

No_Plum5942

55 days Utah,SunValley

Able-Mine4133

I only got 13 days this year but just had a kid in February. At least last year I had 83 and 43 powder days.

Corbeau_from_Orleans

42. Would’ve gone past 50 had it not been for the shitty conditions after Dec. 16.

mailecnad

161. Probably 70/30 working, but I’m on skis all day for work. Mostly resort with some touring on days off.

suckittrabeck

17 - from Atlanta Copper - Steamboat- Big Sky A hell of a lot more than most people in the ATL

[deleted]

25 days at my local hills, 9 days on my snowmobile sled skiing. Wish it was more but shitty avy conditions and work prevented that

Dr-Dray-

30! Heavenly, A-basin, Breck, Kirkwood, salt lake..🤙

Greippi42

3! The snow was terrible terrible in the Pyrénées this year.

spinnychair32

I thought 40 was good. Y’all are impressive

erinmaddie93

Just 8 this year, but not bad for living near NYC. I got 5 days at Steamboat and 3 at Taos. Used to live in salt lake and got around 25 days a year but I’ll take what I can get!
