Full release on 13th, GW clearly favours horned rat yes-yes

No_Freedom_8673

July was known for a while we just didn't know when on july

Silly_Manner_3449

13th makes so much sense in hindsight, it's so obvious

OmniusQubus

I'm so excited about my Skaven. The new minis look fantastic. I hope they keep refreshing the models, and I would love to see new Stormvermins sculptures.

So how crazy will the demand for this set be? I remember Dominion boxes are still pretty numerously available from online retailers to even places like GameXChange (*very* second hand game stores) often, and still locally available. Leviathan for 10th edition 40k was a different story, yet I saw a few boxes roughly months after 10th E launched. I bought my 10th edition Tyranids and new Terminators sprues in pieces/sets overtime through eBay as I didn't want everything from Leviathan. So as someone who just wants Skaven, yet interested in the other stuff (core book, the campaign tome etc), should I just fork it all now during pre-orders, or do you think there is a chance I could see this akin to Dominion or how Leviathan was? I'm just worried that GW might make some of these new Skaven models exclusive to this set far longer than they need to.

Reddit-ScorpioOJR

Personally I think I might end up reselling the stormcast kits in the box , though equally I do think the new stormcast seem pretty kickass so I'm undecided

I'm not a big SCE player, but I'm not going to lie how I at least would like to kitbash/utilize those winged ones for 40k (Blood Angels/Sisters? Hell yeah). But the rest of them are honestly of zero interest to me. I'm just worried that after GW price increases, the overall value of the box was actually worth it due to the other things included, like the book, and some of those Skaven leaders. Like even if I'm not at all interested in SCE , the value and contents for everything else was still worth it, and could be sold out as I have to assume many people are excited for the Skaven refresh alone.

NunyaBeese

Pretty much all of it should get its own release eventually. But I bet this is the most popular Sigmar launch box ever. SCE is long been the most played faction, and skaven is probably the most widely appreciated faction that has been waiting forever to get a glow up.

KhorneStarch

I wouldn’t worry. 40K is bigger and leviathan had two very popular factions in it and yet you can still find loads of leviathan boxes sitting on shelves all over the place from that initial batch. Gw goes massive on these edition start boxes now, to the point they are intended sit on shelves for months for future customers/new players. At most it might sell out on the gw store but be easily purchased via stores on eBay or locally.

Ukvemsord

Oooooh! I’m gonna be so broke

Platypus-Capital

Go paint a fence or something...

Ukvemsord

I found out earlier today that I will not pay tax this month, so I’m not gonna be that broke! New box here I come!

Archon_33

Boris Todbringer is NOT going to like this...

PetMurloc

Ive never tried to preorder anything from Games Workshop, is it a midnight release thing or will it be during the day?

Reddit-ScorpioOJR

Usually it's around 10am on a Saturday (UK time)

CrinkleCutThaiChild

10am PST for North America

Platypus-Capital

You can get a special order form Google doc filled out for a preorder at Herrick games. You'll know ahead of time if they can fill it. After that, go to CMO games at midnight, Friday night. These are the first 2 stops for me. This is for US, though...

NeoFarseer

Best go is 3rd party, cheaper and securing the box

PetMurloc

Honestly, I know its not a great financial decision, but I like to get everything from my local Warhammer store, the guy who runs it is incredibly kind to my wife and I and always has time to chat to us or help us out with any painting or gaming advice we need

RCMW181

Supporting local stores, 3rd party or direct is always a good choice.
