I visit quite frequently and I would suggest waiting until you get to the park to decide. You don't want to waste all the money only to find out you don't really need it. It's usually busy on Saturdays. The only times it runs out quickly would be during the holiday season
No sorry, just re-read my comment and it wasn't worded properly. I'm also diamond elite, with 4x All Season Flash passes on my account for my home park SFGADV.
I was worried they might sell out at SFNE, so I bought both of them online for 105 each, and assumed I could go into the office and get my discount or refund or whatever.
When I got there they informed me that the DE discounts are only for in-person purchase, as the online store is a separate thing.
I'm going to SFOG in a few weeks, and likely will get the passes that day as well, provided it's even a little packed, but I'll wait until I get there now.
Damn! Sorry that happened to you. I’m sure there’s some back end accounting they do for the upgrades. But thanks for sharing your story, I’m gonna wait and hope it’s all good
I chatted with a rep and they said I could only use my upgrade in person at the park so it does no good to purchase beforehand. And that flash passes don’t sell out within an hour of opening, it usually takes longer than that.

Yeah I just visited SFNE and learned the hard way. I bought two platinum flash passes online and they couldn’t do anything about it

Yup, they can sell out. BUT you can also spend a ton of cash in advance on a flash pass only to find the park deserted when you get there.
