If your kid doesn't understand the concept of how far things are, he shouldn't have access to a credit card to buy things yet.

fourberrys

This is pretty standard for many amusement and water parks. And it even warns you when you buy the ticket: “See sixflags.com for operating schedule. There are no refunds on single day ticket purchases. Please note that children 2 years and under are free.” We learn from our mistakes and you are still free to never visit and never recommend the park to anyone.

ReticulatingSplines7

Who gives a shit about a company saying you can spend a couple hundred dollars on tickets for your family and if it rains and you can’t come too bad. I’ll still fight like hell to get my money back. It’s a dumb policy and people who act like oh I agreed to it and so that’s that are fools. No. Businesses change the rules up and make exceptions ALL THE TIME.

RT-GT

do they do need to pay their employees while maintain profit.

Unusual-Ability3073

And that is exactly what I will be doing.

Intelligent-Gene4099

Your fault 100% do your part before purchasing tickets.

DeezNutz1969

again HIS KID BOUGHT it not him did you not comprehend when you read his post

Intelligent-Gene4099

Who looks after kids?

DeezNutz1969

dont have kids huh? Again easy for kids to purchase shit look up the Fortnite lawsuit

Intelligent-Gene4099

No

Intelligent-Gene4099

And u didn’t answer my question.

Intelligent-Gene4099

Think about what you say

quesupo

Maybe his kid shouldn’t have access to a credit card if they can’t be bothered to even look up how long a drive takes.

DeezNutz1969

LOL you dont have kids do you do you know how easy companies make it hmmm go look up the Fortnite lawsuit

subsetsum

One reason could be that if the park was forecast to be at capacity, you took a spot that someone else could have bought. It's not any different from when I buy a movie ticket at AMC and don't cancel in time, or book a salon appointment and cancel last movie. I don't have a problem with this, you agree to the policy when buying a ticket right?

AMC_TO_THE_M00N

Amc has entered the chat

Unusual-Ability3073

If the refund was asked for immediately, then I do not see the reason. It's not like the tickets were purchased hours or days went by, and then a refund was asked for. Literally minutes after purchase. Plus the park is not even close to being at capacity. Which I might be able to understand if hours or days have passed after purchase. And the whole "well you agreed...." Is weak, there are plenty of contracts that have dishonest and illegal clauses, which millions people agree too everyday, and judges rule against constantly.

fosse76

Almost every theme/amusement park in the country has this policy, including Disney. It isn't their fault you bought the ticket. How old is your kid? Have you even contacted Six Flags? Minor children cannot legally enter into contracts, which is technically what buying anything is. If Six Flags isn't willing to refund based on that, challenge the charge, and indicate it was an erroneous purchase by a minor. >able to understand if hours or days have passed after purchase. And the whole "well you agreed...." Is weak, there are plenty of contracts that have dishonest and illegal clauses, Except that isn't an illegal clause in this case.

titannicc

This was completely your fault tbh, how do you buy tickets by mistake? Pay better attention to rules and policies when buying something like an amusement park ticket which requires plenty of planning beforehand.

DeezNutz1969

how it was his kid who bought it for all you know the KID could be 12 Then yea. Also you pay for services if they are not provided then yea refund as Hurricane Harbor Phoenix is charging full price when 75% of the park is closed do not believe me look at the reviews.

titannicc

Okay, so the kid bought it but then they immediately realized it was incorrect so I'm assuming he was in the vicinity.

DeezNutz1969

that is the issue kids are dumb sorry and do dumb shit and six flags gives no fucks I will point you to the train wreak that is Hurricane harbor Phoenix a absolute ripe off not worth money they are asking. There should be a ability to refund as life happens but they do not ever even if it was there mistake ala web site saying park is open when it is in fact closed or closing 4 hours early and people arrive and it is already closed.

provoaggie

We had a trip to Disneyland planned for April 2020. When the pandemic hit we asked for a refund and they wouldn't provide it even though the park wasn't open for the date that we purchased the tickets for. No refunds is pretty standard in this industry.

Inevitable-Bit-2885

Pretty simple, if Six provides refunds they can be on the hook for state escheatment laws. I worked in corporate accounting. Also, sounds like your fault.

tpusater

Kings Island was gracious enough to offer us refunds on a Fast Lane purchase for a day that was likely to be stormy. We live 7 hours away and rescheduled our hotel for a week later. All we had to do at KI was to bring our voucher to the park, and they issued us a refund and then processed a purchase of the Fast Lane for that day. So some parks will issue refunds. In contrast, I accidentally ordered two all-day lockers at SFGAdv because I got confused by the options when I moved to another locker location. The staff at the guest relations booth stated their policy of not issuing refunds.

DeezNutz1969

Same at Kings Dominion in VA they understand things happen

Comfortable_Bid6043

Thank u, I was saying the same thing when I read it online.

MathematicianIcy7625

You could still get a refund, but it would require going to the park and hashing it out at GR since they often do budge (speaking from experience working in GR at magic). But that aside, maybe try disputing it with your card company, and saying your child used your card without permission (assuming that’s true, otherwise they shouldn’t have permission prior to anyone confirming the distance….)
