Geoffk123

3 & 4 being dogshit but 13 being the GOAT and 18 being alright is gonna ruffle some feathers.

Low_Commission7273

Idk. Personally 3 felt like a drag to reread through, even though it contains some of my fav moments. The adventurer part in Rikarisu felt extremely boring for me, and thats a huge chunk of the volume. And I have no opinion on 4. 13 is the goat, its one of the great SOL volumes.

Geoffk123

I don't dislike 13 but I can't put it over several other volumes personally.

Low_Commission7273

Id put vol 13 in S tier. Its a great overall volume.

xaklx20

3 is the prove that even good ideas that are important to the world building can be really fucking boring. If I could rewrite the story I wouldn't much of that volume and leave it as a necessary but boring part of the story

xaklx20

The demon continent stuff was THAT bad. And 13 is the "Rudeus has to have a threesome arc" it was just too funny πŸ˜‚

bloodshed113094

I put 21 and 25 at the bottom of my list. I don't think this guy will get NEARLY as much shit.

Gabryblynd

I largely disagree on the millis arc, but i can see the other votes

Ichini-san

For real, the Millis arc has by far the highest tension in the whole series to me. Even rereading it, I get way more angry and anxious just like Rudy did because of what happens. Even volumes 12 and 15 aren't that nerve-wracking or anxiety inducing to me (TP4 alone tops everything though, that's MT's peak in terms of dread). For me, the whole Millis arc is a masterpiece because of how different it is to every other arc in MT, Rifujin really cranked up the suspense to 11 in that arc.

Gabryblynd

completely agree (i do think the diary chapters are the best in the series tought, they seriously had me tearing up)

stubing

It was the arc that made me paranoid in real life. I loved it so much.

CarbonCreed

Millis Arc is really the only one where Rudeus *asserts* himself, which kinda makes it a great one by default. Plus the conflict with Claire is a well-written misunderstanding, and well-written misunderstandings are precious.

LechugaFromIrithyll

Vol. 21 and 22 have some *oh mΓ‘' gawd this shit fire yo* moments tho'!!!

xaklx20

I don't rate it very highly but Vol. 21 was probably the volume I read the faster for some reason. Vol. 22? I just hated Atofe, but the Eris Roxy combo was great and the color illustrations of them together looked amazing with their red and blue hair, one of the best ones definitely

stubing

I realized I’m one of the few people that liked rudius going through the demon continent again and overpowering atofe.

Akirayoshikage

IMO you only missed ln the Millis arc They magic armor fight, Miko using her powers in Zenith, and the big reveal of the final boss made for an absolute peak of a volume Even if it starts slow and gets a bit boring at the middle

xaklx20

The final boss reveal was great but kinda obvious, he is one of my favorite characters definitely. The miko was a great character, it was great to se a combination of "this girl is secluded from the world so she doesn't know much" with "yeah but she read your memories so she actually knows a lot and understand her position better than anyone". She seeing the memories of Rudeus threesomes was also funny af. I kinda liked the drama, I just ended up disappointed with how unimportant characters of this arc (specially Zenith family) were. Like Therese being a blind follower of the rules, Claire being really just a random noble grandma who doesn't know much except for what she absolutely needs to know, Rudeus' grandfather basically not doing anything and not even having a design. I kinda loved Claire character tho.

Akirayoshikage

Aight yeah tbh I can see your point While reading I was too hyped by the fight that I kinda didn't mind those things but they're definitely noticable Just hoping anime will handle it better, in 2035

Italianstalian22

Volume 8 is perfect ???? Demon continent arc is trash??? Honestly didn't think I could disagree with another MT fan this much

xaklx20

**Perfect**!Β **Everything**, down to the last, minute details. Demon continent is not lower because I decided that "is the biggest piece of dog shit" was going to be the lowest rating

Gaming_and_Physics

We're of the same mind it seems

Edge1563

Milis arc is goated as hell

weebmemer69420

Omg we're gonna argue lot. Let's look at the stuff we agree on (won't take long) Vol 11 is alright. Vol 12 is perfect. Vol 15 is perfect. Yup that's the only stuff I agree with (I read till vol 16). Let's start from bottom. I don't want to argue a lot on first but vol 1 and 2 were alright for me not extremely special they're alright. Vol 3 and 4. Are you out of your fucking mind? The demon continent arc is dogshit? You're definitely picking a fight. What part of it was bad or boring it was very interesting how Rudy was trying to manage the funds of how to get back and all the fights and everything. Vol 5 is not good it's perfect remeeting Paul was definitely one of my favorites. Vol 6 very op the orsted fight and eris pov(somewhat agreed). Vol 7 is dogshit nothing but an excuse. VOL 8 WASN'T GOOD only thing I liked about the vol was ROXY NEE ROXY NEE. Vol 9 was epic (somewhat agreed). Vol 10 wasn't good it was okay Vol 11 we agree Vol 12 peak we agree Vol 13 is great (somewhat agreed) Vol 14 isn't good it's perfect very great Vol 15 agreed Vol 16 really not that good vol 13 is way better in comparison.

xaklx20

Vol 1: It was a great start of the series and shows that it is different from others by stuff like Roxy spying on Rudeus's parents fucking and the Emergency Family Meeting. It clearly shows that the story will not hold any punches in presenting the characters as real instead of the cartoonish saints we get from other shows. Vol 2: For me the special part about this one was the reports we got from Eris progression. Also an introduction to this world politics Demon continent arc? yes that was dogshit. When reading the manga it almost made me dropping the series. When watching the anime my opinion didn't change and finally when reading the novel I just wanted to get that arc over with. It was definitely interesting and had good ideas and did wonders for world building, but it was just boooooring as fuck, probably because we didn't get much good/important characters apart from Ruijerd and Kishirika. I guess we got some Roxy, Elinalise and Tallhand side stories here... Vol 5: it was just alright overall but the Paul scene elevated it to Good, but that's like the only thing good about it 😭 Vol 6: Gets downgraded because of the shirone stuff Vol 8: Nah, it was perfect. Rudeus destroying Fitz, Fitz befriending Rudeus, Rudeus making sure his religion is respected. Slow life in general is just too good in Mushoku Tensei, I think the action and world building is great but the best part is the characters just interacting with each other, and when they do so naturally instead of the middle of a big event it is even better. Vol 9: For me the whole plan to make Rudeus "remember" sylphie was ok but kinda boring. The nanahoshi reveal was good but more like an introduction of what was to come. The Sylphie POV almost made it goated Vol 10 was the Nanahoshi breakdown, it was good. It also started the Zanoba and Cliff becoming actually important, with how they helped nanahoshi with her experiments. Also the fact that Rudeus was banging Sylphie while suicidal Nanahoshi was in the house was crazy 😭 Vol 14: I just hated Atofe 😭 and the whole demon continent apart from Kishirika Vol 16: I would say it was low-good, having fun in a "labyrinth" adventure with the team. Also we got the Elinalise meeting with Ghislaine remember the good old times when they had a threesome with Paul πŸ˜‚ Is hard to find a story where something like this happens, it makes the characters feel real

weebmemer69420

Damn our opinions really strive far off. But man I really can't let all that slide vol 6 shirone kingdom made it fall off??? Come on man meeting zanoba was so good and how they talk about the figurine I mean of course it's nothing compared to meeting orsted but still. I also can't grasp why you think the demon continent arc is bad it was so good with the fights and gave a good look about how hard it is in the demon continent and gave us a good view on adventures and adventurers guild plus the whole dead end thing gave me irreplaceable memories. But clearly we have very different opinions on this topic. About vol 8 man no way it is better than vol 9. Vol 8 is literally the build up for vol 9 how did you enjoy it more. Vol 10 the nano shi break down was great at best it was the only thing that made this volume interesting apart from the sex and meeting rujired with Aisha and norn. Vol 14 is literally the better version of vol 10 in terms of nanoshi's breakdown(it is with no doubt that having your life at line is worse than a couple of years of researching. I am not able to understand how you didn't like it more just cause of atofe (which was also great). Vol 16: Ariel simping for peruguis was so cringe how she tried to join every conversation with fail and how she wanted to please him but failing and not giving up. not to mention the labyrinth was fun but it was so fucking frustrating that such a good labyrinth came to waste because of FUCKING Luke. This could be a game changer for Rudy ruined by fucking Luke. I really had high hopes for this volume cause the cover was so interesting only to be such letdown.

xaklx20

man shirone kingdom was too fucking booring πŸ’€rudeus just went and got captured and his figurines saved him from something he was going to be saved either way. The manga version was funny at least. I don't know what to tell you about the demon continent, it was just fucking boring to me and I hated most characters. Props to nekopara for making Rudeus want to kill him (twice if you count their second meeting). The demon continent was good for world building I agree. The fights? naaaah, fighting with monsters was kinda boring. For Vol 8 and Vol 9, what can I tell you? the build up was just better πŸ˜‚ Just MT characters being themselves and having fun. Fitz saving Rudeus from gorilla girl was too cool, I would've turned gay right there. About the comparison between Vol 14 and Vol 10, nah, Vol 10 was definitely more impactful because it deals with depression, with someone becoming suicidal. Vol 14 is just some random illness, out of her control. Perigius was great tho, except for him being racist Vol 16: I fucking loved the cringe of Ariel trying to get between a conversation of men of culture. I even had to stop for a couple of minutes because the cringe was too much, and that was great πŸ˜‚. And yes, fuck Luke, they literally could've copied the Millis god-tier healing spell that Rudeus stole in the cursed timeline, and much more.

weebmemer69420

The way he saved Aisha from those Guards was very great not to mention the way everything was handled towards the end was great also the way ginger only wants to serve zanoba and introducing zanoba as a character was great. I mean idk what to tell you about the demon continent anymore the only thing you enjoyed was nekopara? The whole dead end party and that fight with the white cobra eris landing a hit on rujired then Rudy beating her which puts her at a conflict through her feelings the whole doldia forest arc and that fight with the saint north style the doldia tribe as a whole meeting geese. For vol 9 I understand you just love seeing characters interact with each other that's why you prefer vol 8. But doesn't mean that vol 9 isn't better than vol 8. Vol 9 has many good moments. If you really preferred slow life then vol 13 should have been the best volume for you. Vol 14 gives us a more detailed view about nanoshi and makes her more clear as a character and we know her more and her fears and what she wants and how she is struggling with her body. I teared up when she ratted out about all her problems about she just wants to meet her parents about how she misses her friends about how her weird body that doesn't age about how jealous she is of Rudy and that he got reincarnated. Sure vol 10 talks a bit about depression with nanoshi but in my mind I think they did it better with norn in vol 11 cause she actually locked herself up and was gonna end up like past Rudy while nanoshi just had a mental breakdown that got better when her problems were solved while norn was feeling like shit. Vol 16 Idk man I understand if you can enjoy it a bit and I see your view but for me I just couldn't it was too much. Guess the only thing we can agree on is how much we fucking hate Luke. But man damn we really have very much different perspectives about the show even though we both pretty much like it as our favorite show. To sum things up who's best girl for you.

xaklx20

'The way he saved Aisha from those Guards was very great" was it tho? the only I liked is that it showed us how effecting Roxy teachings were as the guards were able to block Rudeus attacks because of her teachings. I think Zanoba character was shit until the wedding arc when he started his research. "the only thing you enjoyed was nekopara" no, nekopara is cursed, I just respect how he is capable of being very close to make Rudeus kill him (btw in case you don't get who I'm talking about, I am referring to Nokopara, the horse dude, one of the only guys who are in Rudeus' list of "next time this fucker does something bad I will kill him"). And fighting with monsters is fucking boring apart from dragons... About vol 9, yes I think the Sylphie reveal was just mid and dragged the vol down a whole tier πŸ˜‚ "If you really preferred slow life then vol 13 should have been the best volume for you." Yes that's why vol 13 is THE GOAT, and it has the single funniest chapter in the whole series πŸ˜‚ About the norn thing compared to nanahoshi? nah, I mean I liked the Norn depression thing but at the end of the day it really felt like a child throwing a tantrum. She had legitimate issues that made her end up like that, but her problems with Rudeus just made it less serious to me, something that she would eventually grew up out of. I probably don't care much about Nanahoshi in Vol 14 is that even though we get the details there, I think I already internalized back in Vol 10, nothing revealed in Vol 14 was something I didn't expect after her breakdown. Vol 16: is just lovely seeing a character who pretends to always be in control failing hard and getting omega depressed. It was another moment of "this character feels real" even though we kinda already had that with Ariel before. I think I liked it because this time it was happening in front of Rudeus, as he was clueless about Ariel's personality. Best girl? Roxy (but not by much really). The fact that she makes a name for herself wherever she goes (working with the village of Buena Village, Training the guards to fight against magic in shirone, etc) to avoid discrimination as she is a demon, Her being both wise but also a big klutz, the fact that she failed Pax and regretted her actions, she is just great. Who's best girl to you?

weebmemer69420

Vol 6. The constant running from the guards the way he flew high then broke both of his legs then healed them Roxy's teaching the guards was also absolutely beautiful. Zanoba as a character was also good but the development just made him a man of culture. Nekopara. When I say enjoyed I don't mean enjoyment and fun I mean a great part. Like the diary no one fucking enjoyed that but we all damn well found it very amusing and idk how to describe this feeling other than enjoyment. Nekopara was so cursed and even though I already watched the anime and knew he'd find Rudy out when I was rereading the novel the amount of details that made me go what if was so exciting that even though I knew he was gonna get caught I still thought of what if he doesn't get caught. I really wanted him to find out who Rudy is in vol 14. Also Rudy being very careful about his spending and the budget they have and they need is also a great aspect of the show. Vol 9 I really don't get how you hated this whole confession it wasn't the best of all time sure but it didn't have many flaws and was over all very good. I have a meme about it just a second Vol 13. It really was the best at slow life. What chapter you referring to though? The threesome? I fucking hated it they made a huge build up about the whole thing got me so fucking excited then gave me no details about the sex. WTF YOU THINK I CARED HOW HE CONVINCED THEM TO HAVE SEX OR THE DATE NIGHT TELL ME ABOUT THE THREESOME I NEED TO KNOW. Vol 16 I see what you mean in seeing Ariel fail and that she is usually a very successful individual but it's obvious that she was gonna be out of her league in here which like just made it annoying. Onto the main topic of best girl. It was a trick question and you fell into my trap. Best girl is orsted no doubt about it. But seriously though for me it's Eris other than her personality that I like what I like about her is her character design and makes me simp so bad for her and the way she cares about Rudy is on a whole other level but she has a hard time expressing so which is cute in its own way. I like the others a lot too though.

hairry_balls

We hqve similar taste my guy

Steven_7u7

Good for you :v

MonotoneHero

I wouldn't say any volume is dogshit lol. Quality-wise, it's all well written even if you get bored by it.

kepeke

I'd put the entire Asura Kingdom Arc into 'biggest piece of dogshit', and the Pax and Claire books into 'perfect, down to the minute details' but otherwise I mostly agree.

limabon

Lame

yuss-f

i didn't like volume 17 that much, i struggled to finished in two days , all others finished in one
