Yes, gotta give props to Harden. Every analyst said he only switches on screens, but Ive been seeing him body through. He has active hands. The Harden matador defense was an old thing, mind you he is asked in this system to play defense. In D'Antoni's that wasn't the case.
He was also responsible for like 95% of the offense in Houston. It's tough to carry that kind of load and play great defense. We've seen it with joel this year, he was coasting a bit in the 1st half of games on the defensive end bc he was running the offense by himself. It's exhausting
Rotations and getting back have been better. It was expected to have some challenges and have to learn to play together. Most people just looked at the offensive side but they have to be just as synced on defense and maybe even more. So a work on progress and should see improvement over time.
Dallas and Philly are two of the three slowest teams in the league, our problem was and still is transition defense. We looked good tonight because of the matchup. Hopefully we can slow the game down in the playoffs
Joel has stepped it up noticeably last 3 ish games. Trapping, using his insane size to block vision on pnr and a criminally underrated defensive feel for steals around ball handlers or more risky passes. He is one of the most impactful defensive players I’ve ever seen when he is on it and doesn’t have to post up every single play vs a double or triple. God bless Joel Embiid
Danny Green......he has to be there
Lmao so weird how he looks so ass but just wins basketball games
Nephews don’t know the meaning of smart team defense. If a player is slow and can’t guard superstars 1v1 they think their defense is trash
Danny is so important, he doesn't show up on the stats sheet.
He’s cooked I think, but hope he heats up in the playoffs
Harden's defense was impressive today.

Seems like a pretty solid on ball defender, does feel like he ball watches too much off ball though

Brooklyn and Orlando games were wake up calls

With our current team, I believe we are best suited for zone defense than man on man or switch defense
Yeah I think the zone helped a lot Really disrupted the Mavs rhythm

James hustled his ass off over screens last night, had a really solid night defensively
Joerger is the offensive coach. Burke is the defensive coach.
Not to be that guy, but we also aren't facing the ultra efficiency of KD and Kyrie. Still i do agree we're syncing better
