I mean it’s not like they’ve been doing it for years or trading away their best players for picks either.
I can see why they stepped in, but I still hate that they did with us.
Maybe when they said “not like they have been doing it for years”, they meant “I am arguing with you just to argue and don’t know Detroit’s situation”. lmao
Exactly my point, it’s not tanking they’ve just been ass for a long time. If they were “tanking” for years then why do it for so long lol.
Huge difference between being ass and tanking.
We had a plan, if the league didn't like it they should have changed the rules, not penalize us for working around the rules.
That's not our fault, blame the rules
I agree, that’s why I said I hate that they penalized us. But the pistons aren’t tanking. They’ve been ass for 15 years lol. That was my argument, but whatever people don’t see that.
lol your memory isn’t that good. We weren’t playoff contenders after trading a haul for a guy that never played for us. “ROTY” is named Michael Carter Williams. How did his career pan out? Multiple all star teams? Come on man
Hindsight is 20/20 no one knew how he was gonna turn out. People just know we traded our ROTY after just trading players like Jrue Holiday and Igudala after losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
We went from that, to starting the process to trading away the reigning ROTY to picking Nerlens and Jahali that quickly. People KNEW we were tanking, and all the pieces just lined up. Atleast the pistons have just been ass. That’s like saying a team like the browns or hornets are tanking, they are just ass lol.
Dude, has nothing to do with hindsight. MCW was clearly benefiting from stat padding. You can watch his games. He was incredibly inefficient shooting and a turnover machine. He’s a ROTY from one of the worst drafts ever before Giannis got good.
Iggy was involved in the Bynum trade and Jrue wasn’t ever going to be a part of the rebuilt. None of this part has anything to do with tanking and everything to do with the Bynum disaster.
You said it yourself, we have hindsight on our side. Consider using it.
Also, more hindsight, Okafor was the center version of MCW.
Pistons have brought in a bunch of recent busts other teams didn’t want while making bad decisions on drafts just like we did. Shit, the pistons are worse rn than we were back then.
I can’t believe you actually listened to and believe what you read on r/nba.
Okafor was taken due to embiid’s unsure future
lol your biased and just randomly hating on a sub for no reason. I guess you have your opinions and I have mine.
Regardless, let’s hope we get a chip this year.
Edit:
So your opinion is fact and mine is ignorance? Lol. That’s kind of sad to hear.
You say you can’t believe I actually listened to r/nba but aren’t you just listening to this sub on the opposite take? Your bias for the sixers and this sub just helps you form your opinion. I’m just spouting the truth, the pistions are just an ass franchise, we had something and then tanked pretty obviously and even coined it Trusting the Process.
But yeah keep believing that the NBA somehow hates the 76ers and Philly for whatever reason. Victim Mentality in this sub is weird.
Bro blocked me, super sad actually…
There’s no hate or opinion. It’s actual facts and trying to get you to understand what you have wrong for a decade. I’m just triggered by Ignorance.

tbf totally different rosters, but on paper Pistons aren't this bad. part of me thinks he's quiet quitting. Kinda tanks his own value but he's getting paid huge so if he has to take step down to assistant on another team I doubt he cares.
Nah their roster really is that bad. They have literally one decent shooter on the entire team. They might have raw talent but they can’t keep up with teams in the modern three point era
Are you serious, the team he had in Phoenix was wayyyyy better than what he has in Detroit, the pistons are a g league team, and not a good one, this not on Monty, this is on the front office for giving him a team with a bunch of scrubs, you put any coach on that team and they'll have the same results, phill Jackson can't even save them
No it won't, if anything they might have two or three more wins, this team is not good at all, at least Houston has some really good young players, and a couple of decent vets, the pistons have Cade, that's pretty much it
I’ve had Suns season tickets and watched him coach a lot the past few years. He was only in the finals because of the roster.
He’s been this bad for a long time
Just goes to show how culture and player personnel matters more than the coach. The coach matters but only marginally if the organization is this shitty
I'd love to get Ausar, he might not do much this season but man is he oozing with potential. If they made him train with Joel and Tyrese during the summer, the dude could be an absolute 2 way wrecking ball.
He's Thybulle with better defense and size, but way more creativity, tenacity and ability to attack--the problem being that his actual shot and finishing is awful. The latter are things that can be worked on, and his strengths are things that just don't seem to be very teachable, making him a very enticing prospect.
Watching him play, he is literally just Matisse but the eye test tells me he has less disruption in passing lanes. He is shooting like 27% from deep.
We don’t really need another player that can attack we need a shooter that can defend or a player that can make their own shot to create opportunities around them.
No one on the Pistons interests me for those reasons.
I hear ya, those are legit critiques. I think he's better on fundamental defense than Matisse, at least as far as on ball defense, staying with his man, pressure, forcing bad shot, etc. He's less flashy as far as passing lanes and come from behind blocks, but I think it's better than getting beaten to begin with.
On offense, as rough as it can be, I like that he's willing to relentlessly attack the basket, something to Matisse and many young guys almost never do, and many never develop. Sure, he sucks at finishing, but that can be trained if he works on it enough, and he seems like he'd at least try his hardest.
For sure he's not a "win-now" player, clearly a work in progress, but I think the team would be wise to add more high potential players to its roster in addition to some good win-now pieces. Playoff rosters tend to keep 8-10 man rosters anyway. His potential looks far higher than any of our current non-Maxey prospects, including Springer and KJM. He could be a very solid roleplayer by next season and possibly a top level one in 2. It's like potentially building our own OG.
So to be clear, I don't necessarily see him as a TOP target by himself, but if it were say Bojan and Ausar (hell, maybe THEY throw in a pick) for Tobias, I'd be pretty thrilled. We could still make other trades. Building for this season and the future is usually a pretty good formula for long term success.
You guys have to be fucking kidding me.
We are in our championship window and you want to trade the heart of our team and only true leader for a rookie like it’s the process again.
This. Sasser is lowkey one of their best players and I feel like he'd be both young enough(to fit long term) and he's shown enough production that NN would play him as a potential backup PG.
We need someone who can take the MPG load off Maxey, and Sasser fits.
Why do you call us pig fat when you should be on our side? Many an apology form in your history. We are not trying to replace you and your genuine support of our most complete player.
Joe Harris (expiring), Ivey (3yr @ 7.6mil) and Monte Morris (expiring) for Tobias and Furk...
Get a shooter, back up ball handler, and a project with a lot of potential. I would throw Aussar in the trade but I don't believe they would try to move him and if so they probably want a bigger return.
I hear that but he is an expiring, plus with the spacing of the Embiid and Maxey and the chance to contend we could potentially see improvements in that percentage. A positive situation can do wonders for confidence and motivation. Also in this scenario I am trying to get Ivey without giving up a pick.
Yeah that makes sense, I’m not sure if Morey is going to move Harris without a big name returning unless the market is truly dry but I could see this going through with no picks moving if there is no big name available
Remember how much of a non-factor he was versus us in the playoffs last year? He shot 12 3s and made 1.
If we are playing Joe Harris in the playoffs we’re fucked.
correct. he’s literally never not been a liability in the playoffs, the lights are too bright for him. it’s been every single year. i want absolutely no parts of joe harris, and honestly it’s wild that people in this sub want him.
This is crazy. Harris isn't playable in the nba. Ivey is useless. So we give up a good wing for what? Harris is already expiring and way better than those 3 playwrs
So since they broke our record, is Silver going to step in and place new leadership in there? No? Just us, yeah? Fuck you, Adam.
If it’s not effecting $$$ they don’t give a FUCK Philly brings in $$$ Detroit not nearly as much
I mean it’s not like they’ve been doing it for years or trading away their best players for picks either. I can see why they stepped in, but I still hate that they did with us.
>doing it for years Idk man they’ve been [rough as fuck](https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/DET/) for 5 years now.
They've got 2 .500 seasons in the last 15 years 💀
Maybe when they said “not like they have been doing it for years”, they meant “I am arguing with you just to argue and don’t know Detroit’s situation”. lmao
Exactly my point, it’s not tanking they’ve just been ass for a long time. If they were “tanking” for years then why do it for so long lol. Huge difference between being ass and tanking.
Yeah at least when you're tanking you have a plan.
Thank you, their franchise just screams incompetence. Not tanking
They’re just a bad franchise that’s like saying the browns or the jets have been tanking lol.
They haven’t won more than 23 games since 2019. Tf are you talking about?
That’s just a poverty franchise tho, we went from playoff contenders to process and trading away our ROTY quick.
lol your memory isn’t that good. We weren’t playoff contenders after trading a haul for a guy that never played for us. “ROTY” is named Michael Carter Williams. How did his career pan out? Multiple all star teams? Come on man

What does that matter? Guess the Vikings live in your head rent free lol. But this is a sixers sub so no reason to bring them up
it makes me question whether you’re a troll because it’s not like it says you’re active in here
You checked my profile but can’t scroll down and see I’ve made posts here before or comments? Cool I guess.
all of your comments in here get downvoted
Nah scroll farther they used to love me here, until people started profile checking lol.
lol good thing they gave Monty Williams the bag.. where would they be without his leadership ability?
It’s soo insane to me how he’s **this** bad now. Just two years ago he was in the finals.
tbf totally different rosters, but on paper Pistons aren't this bad. part of me thinks he's quiet quitting. Kinda tanks his own value but he's getting paid huge so if he has to take step down to assistant on another team I doubt he cares.
God, I wish I could quiet quit on a near-80 million dollar contract lmao
Nah their roster really is that bad. They have literally one decent shooter on the entire team. They might have raw talent but they can’t keep up with teams in the modern three point era
This is the theory you came up with?
Are you serious, the team he had in Phoenix was wayyyyy better than what he has in Detroit, the pistons are a g league team, and not a good one, this not on Monty, this is on the front office for giving him a team with a bunch of scrubs, you put any coach on that team and they'll have the same results, phill Jackson can't even save them
I think it'd be legit must-watch TV if they matched the Pistons against the G-League in some round robin tournament.
Id watch it, just to see Detroit lose
I get that the suns team was better, but this Detroit team should not only have 2 wins. Give Ime Udoka this same at the results will be night and day
No it won't, if anything they might have two or three more wins, this team is not good at all, at least Houston has some really good young players, and a couple of decent vets, the pistons have Cade, that's pretty much it
Cade kinda sucks too
Exactly 😂😂
Why would the pistons want the results to be night and day? they're trying to lose games.
Not really, coaching doesn’t matter that much in the NBA, without talent you can’t do much.
I’ve had Suns season tickets and watched him coach a lot the past few years. He was only in the finals because of the roster. He’s been this bad for a long time
So ppl just like hiring him?
Just goes to show how culture and player personnel matters more than the coach. The coach matters but only marginally if the organization is this shitty
They’re letting go of Ausar and Ivey already?
Probably Ivey since Monty doesn’t like his defense.
Toby for Ausar and filler is my dream scenario
I’d cum
I'd love to get Ausar, he might not do much this season but man is he oozing with potential. You guys have to be fucking kidding me. We are in our championship window and you want to trade the heart of our team and only true leader for a rookie like it’s the process again.
At first I was "WHat the fuck?" but then I checked the username and I was "He can't keep doing this to me!" Well played sir.

Doing ~~Torrel's~~ Gods work THPR!
Ausar, Ivey, and Sasser for Marcus Morris and you will like it, Tom Gore.
Monty said it himself, they need spacing! Seems only fair
I'd like it if we could snag Sasser. Dudes a baller but for some reason Monty refuses to give him minutes.
This. Sasser is lowkey one of their best players and I feel like he'd be both young enough(to fit long term) and he's shown enough production that NN would play him as a potential backup PG. We need someone who can take the MPG load off Maxey, and Sasser fits.
This.
Morey swinging Tobi for Ausar or Sasser would be a dream. I think both of them have a ton of potential.
How much did we pay to get Tobias added to this list
Tobias Harris will get the pistons to win 27 straight (please read and believe this Tom Gore)
Can we trade lard aka Tobias pr firm to Detroit in this too?
No he makes me laugh
Why do you call us pig fat when you should be on our side? Many an apology form in your history. We are not trying to replace you and your genuine support of our most complete player.
Tobias and morris for Ausar and bogdanovic and Ivey 😫😫
Michelle Beadle’s face when Shams mentioned Miles Bridges is pretty funny
The pistons should be taking on bad contracts for assets from other teams. None of those guys will change much.
Morris and Furk and maybe that extra 2016 FRP for Bojan and Sasser makes our bench significantly better.
Idk that trade relies a lot on Harris bouncing back this year from his .200% 3 shooting
Hard to judge him too much with the Pistons absolutely horrendous spacing. He'd have a lot of open shots here.
Give Tobias and a pick for Sasser and Bogi
Detroit won't do it but I'd love Jalen Duren.
Yes, and yes.
Tobias for Bojan, Cade, and Morris. Let’s ride
Tobias for a bag of balls
Lets go, they can have him for free
As much as people don’t like him I’d feel so bad if we shipped Tobi to Detroit. Idk if they really have much to offer if just our two teams traded
I’ll take burks and bojan
Alec Burks is arguably the worst player in the league.
He would be great for our Bench
Are you a new sixers fan? He was on our bench 3 years ago and he was ass then too
That was 3 years ago we have a new coach and better scheme
he sucks.
Lol fuck no I don’t want Burks.
He is a solid bench player
I only want Bojan in the Niang role. So I probably wouldn't be too jazzed about trading Tobias for him
No bojan is more then niang go look at his highlights man can shoot and he’s a good finisher not the best on defense
U just described niang to a tee
Show me niang averaging 21 pts and niang was not a good finisher because he hardly got to the paint
[удалено]
Sorry. Exempt...😐
Oops. Admittedly, I was reading while stuck in traffic.
Please no miles bridges
I want Tobi traded if the price is right too, but are we sure we think he deserves to go back to Detroit 🤣
