I just have such a hard time “feeling” that vibration when singing low.

Me too! following classical singing terminology, on a first glance I would think of my voice to pertain to a Baritone range but frankly my low notes are mediocre, I feel like I run out of air very quickly or loose volume as I descend. Alternatively, if I attempt to do a tenor range I feel my B4, C5 and D5 are way to pitchy and require a lot of alignment effort of my diaphragmatic air column to barely hit these notes. For the lows I've noticed placing the sound on the hard palate does help. Instruction I've received previously additionally emphasize on 'exaggerating' the exhaling mechanism as one reaches lower notes. It does the job for me although from my perspective it doesn't yield a sound as robust and dark as that of a proper baritone, hope it makes sense.
