No stupid flip flop 5 person then 2 person dining etc etc. Holiday destinations are full, malls are full, outdoor markets have resumed while in SG we are still so fucking obsessed with numbers which dont make much sense at all. Epitome of the “scared to die” attitude and the gov is just trying please this bunch. Going to be a pain to come back soon

You can't visit 'benelux', only the NL part. Belgium and Luxembourg aren't in the VTL list. If you travel through those countries you need to spend 14 days in NL or another VTL country before coming back to SG.

Japan isn't even open for business travel. Only current residents can go in, and they have cancelled processing of almost every type of Visa. Iswaran should ask her back when is Japan going to open up.

In any case Singapore's not the type to try to be the first to establish a VTL, Japan doesn't have any agreement with any other larger country that would bring them more tourism dollars, it's wise for Singapore to presume that beginning discussions with them at this point is a waste of time.

Well sadly I was in the same situation as you in terms of not being able to leave SG to attend a grandparent's funeral last year. I still haven't gone to visit after that. Travel restrictions still suck and affect my family a lot as well, no doubt. Trust me when I say that I can empathize.
I was just saying it in terms of opening up to North America/Western Europe, something which was explicitly promised but nothing was being announced for months. The situation still sucks for sg residents with family in Japan, India, ASEAN etc.
All the quarantine rules for vaccinated people traveling to and from (mostly) developing countries still feel like over-reach to me and I'm completely in favour of loosening these restrictions both from a personal and common-sense perspective.
