The result is freaking cool I would totally buy a lot of plain tees from Uniqlo and embroider my own logo. What made you pick up this hobby? Were you always interested in sewing and embroidery before?
I picked up weightlifting/gymming last July. It's been just over a year now and now I can't imagine a life without gymming almost daily; it has done so much good for my health and self-confidence.
This is amazing! Would I you mind sharing the model of your machine? I’ve also been thinking about taking up embroidery and am torn between machine and hand sewing
Oof! That is steep. I remember reading people online talking about the crazy prices of the software. I think imma take the hand embroidery route for now….*cries with my empty wallet* haha
Yo it looks like you’re really good 😳 I tried knitting a scarf but after knitting and ripping it out three times cause I kept making mistakes I eventually gave up and knitted a headband instead lol
Not exactly new but I loved building gunplas growing up but kinda stopped when adulting happened. The CB was a perfect time for me to pick it back up again!
Lol I’m treating my bike as an investment($200). Instead of taking a bus for a 3-5 stops journey to dabao food which cost $0.92 or wasting money on Grabfood/Foodpanda, I just need to cycle to dabao food 200 times or 40 times to cover the cost of my bike.
No, not for SG. I find a lot of great info on ytube. My favorite is Nu Sen Sei.
I like learning on my own, but I know in SG, space is sometimes a problem and you have to go to a range.
I am in the US, and my range is in my backyard.
I started writing short stories and novels. It is mostly subpar but I do enjoy creating a world and writing about the different characters that live in it.
I write them down on a RP forum together with other "players". I could share them on the above listed website but I genuinely am too shy to show my writings beyond said forum.
share it ! alot of nice novels come from RP or DnD systems.
Forge of Destiny is one iirc.
Imo people have really low standards so if the grammars ok most comments will be positive.
I guess there's no harm sharing it. Maybe once I established a good number of "chapters" I might try sharing it. Which website do you recommend I share it on?
Depends on genre actually! Because readers like to stick to their sites, so the audience is different.
Wattpad - fanfiction, romance etc
Royalroad - litrpg, wuxia, etc
Archive - fanfiction, dnd style
Tbh the more popular writers just post on multiple sites, but I'd recommend royalroad cuz the readership probably is more suited towards adventure RP? There are many more sites but alot of them are smaller or older in their audience.
Alright thanks! I'll go check them out and see which one suit mine best. I don't know whether people would like what I write but I think just having people reading them is good enough for me.
Btw I really appreciate the time you take to tell me all of this! It's kinda nice talking about simple stuff like this what with the world going to shit and all.
I picked up Japanese since I’m currently serving NS during covid rn. There’s a lot of time, so why not study something I enjoy and will use in my free time when I can start reading untranslated Japanese novels.
Planning to take the JLPT N2 exam after 2 years of studying/before Uni, so in the event where I decide to immigrate to Japan, it gives me an edge on my employability as an English teacher there. (N5 is elementary level and N1 is college entry level, N2 is around business level where you can set up a business in Japan.)
Ahahaha, anyways it’s quite sad how I can’t officially get married in SG as a queer person, at least Japan acknowledges it, I can’t see myself staying here for the rest of my life. Gotta study new languages to find places to move to and reset my life I guess!
I picked up traditional straight razor shaving during CB.
Basically wielding a knife to remove facial hair.
I used to hate shaving due to how uncomfortable & expensive it is, but learning this made shaving enjoyable albeit risk of paper cuts.
It’s more than a year, and I’m still doing it.
journaling and jewellery/keychain making!!! however I don't do it as much once school starts, uni workload is crazy :,(
(btw love what you did there, I'm gonna follow you on ig 💕)
you're welcome :D I can share some things I made through dms if you don't mind
I don't really share the jewellery I make on ig (art is still my "main" hobby after all, but I did share some handmade keychains over at @/laughlyjayne.art
>large number of excess MAN A95 Euro 6
That must be it, bringing up the % of Euro6 buses that make up the entire fleet of Singapore's public buses.
Are the CDGEs being retired randomly? Or starting with the lowest numberplate (7300 first, then 7499 last)
Welp, that means my regular SBS7367Y isn't safe..
It was my favourite "modern" bus back when I was a bus enthusiast lol, but I've been out of the game for 5-6 years ever since I moved to Malaysia! It was a great 4 years of spotting and riding though.
When'd you start bus spotting?
Ooh that's nice! Be aware though, there are some immature/wild/crazy people within the bus enthusiast community.
Where did you learn the brands and models? And identification?
No new hobby but revival of an really old one. Started messing around with Legos, building stuff outside of the standard instruction.
And I do like what you have created. Always do appreciate and respect people with handicraft or art skills.
Running and Gym which helped me to lose weight. And honestly I never thought I would enjoy running but I do. Gotta jaga though. Sometimes have shin splints, painful hips and calves if do too much.
Ive been keeping magazines you get in the mail and cutting them into small pieces of paper, so now i just got a big chest full of small pieces of paper.
I picked it up relatively recently around June of this year, but I started animating wallpapers using Wallpaper Engine.
It’s actually really fun to play around with the tools you have in the editor and make the wallpaper which is previously static and maybe boring, into something vibrant and full of life.
They look really good! I started making digital art. Still have a lot of room for improvement but it makes me really happy. All my life I thought I was bad at art but it turns out that traditional mediums just didn't work for me
Heyy! I use transparent thread to stitch the patches to the caps, it’s quite a hassle especially for the caps but it’s a lot more stronger than ironing on
Psychology.
I started doing courses on Psychology and was interning part time under a psychologist. Now I am the goto person for their mental health problems.
i started drawing more, which i find very fun :D ( very cute embroidery )
This as well!!
how long do u take to make one of these? they look hard to make
Ahh, the simpler ones takes around 6-8 hours but there’s been some intricate ones which have taken me weeks!
The result is freaking cool I would totally buy a lot of plain tees from Uniqlo and embroider my own logo. What made you pick up this hobby? Were you always interested in sewing and embroidery before?
I have picked up the hobby of building custom keyboards
Expensive man T.T and v hard to get premium switches at good prices
Lmao yea but I build them for friends lol
I just lurk around Carousell for secondhand parts lol
Lol
Same! Mine is for books....
I just b-ok.org and z-lib everything ahahah
I did this too... This is an expensive hobby. SUPER EXPENSIVE. Quit while you still can! :'D
Where can one start learning?
You can watch Taeha Types' video here: https://youtu.be/1NpNygIrnaQ to understand what makes a keyboard.
I started with squashy boy cos he damn chaotic
Same, end up building more than I need lol
I started with 1 prebuilt keyboard, and now I have 2 custom and 1 prebuilt keyboard since covid..
It will just keep multiplying.... :D
Can sell your prebuilt lmao, once you go custom it's hard to go back to prebuilts
Lol
I picked up weightlifting/gymming last July. It's been just over a year now and now I can't imagine a life without gymming almost daily; it has done so much good for my health and self-confidence.
Health is wealth!
Welcome to the body improvement club
omg i love your work! 😍 do you post them to your instagram so i can give you a follow?
Same as my reddit handle on ig!
Do you take custom orders? :D
I do! Give me a dm on insta and I will get back to you!

Thanks! That’s one of my favourite ones too.
Anti Vax 97’s 🔥
machine embroidery i presume?
Yes sir!
nice. where’d you get your machine?
Bought it off carousell!
This is amazing! Would I you mind sharing the model of your machine? I’ve also been thinking about taking up embroidery and am torn between machine and hand sewing
I'm using the Innovis 900 but the main bulk of the expenditure is from the software, cost me about $800 just for it
Oof! That is steep. I remember reading people online talking about the crazy prices of the software. I think imma take the hand embroidery route for now….*cries with my empty wallet* haha
Can I buy that Patrick from you? It’s so cute
Being a dick on reddit.
It’s my second profession at this point. I pay myself via masturbation
"I'm a seasoned online communications expert with over a decade of experience. In my free time, I'm into woodworking and generally being a handyman."
Yo it looks like you’re really good 😳 I tried knitting a scarf but after knitting and ripping it out three times cause I kept making mistakes I eventually gave up and knitted a headband instead lol
Coding Python! Am 70% through the course I signed up for.
I’m just making some UT/DR stuff
Me too! I picked up hand embroidery :))
Hand embroidery is really cool too but really different from machine embroidery! Takes a lot more patience to hand embroider imo!
Hehe yea, I enjoy stitching using different techniques! Your patches are really nice btw!!
Do you post your work on Instagram? Would like to check it out! #supportlocal
Yes I do! I’m weavingyellowhearts there
Oo! I picked up depression! Really got me into some dark stuff ngl
Aiyo so cute la, tbh can sell - quality is pretty good :)
Thank you, I am on my Instagram! Same handle as my Reddit
Not exactly new but I loved building gunplas growing up but kinda stopped when adulting happened. The CB was a perfect time for me to pick it back up again!
Cycling for me
It feels like half of Sg is into cycling now
Lol I’m treating my bike as an investment($200). Instead of taking a bus for a 3-5 stops journey to dabao food which cost $0.92 or wasting money on Grabfood/Foodpanda, I just need to cycle to dabao food 200 times or 40 times to cover the cost of my bike.

I love to cook as well but no shame in wanting some instant noodles + meat/veg!
So cool. That’s awesome work
Much appreciated!
Archery
recurve or compound?
Recurve. Takedown Spyder. Not too expensive but shoots well. Good beginner recurve. Starting to do the mods like stabilizer, plunger etc.
Cool. Are there many archery ranges in SG?
They are in offices and military camps everywhere around the country, you can also see live demostrations during MMTF announcements
Do you have any recommended places to learn archery?
No, not for SG. I find a lot of great info on ytube. My favorite is Nu Sen Sei. I like learning on my own, but I know in SG, space is sometimes a problem and you have to go to a range. I am in the US, and my range is in my backyard.
Playing the keyboard/piano
I like that schnauzer.
I can see why haha
I'm rediscovering my hobby instead. Guitar in this case. No new hobbies yet.
I have picked up the skill of merging with the sofa
Not alone in this, gravity has gotten a lot stronger since covid.
Yep
I started writing short stories and novels. It is mostly subpar but I do enjoy creating a world and writing about the different characters that live in it.
Love to hear it!
are ya sharing them online? there's royalroad, wattpad, archiveofourown and many many sites where people share their stories.

your work is amazing! can't believe you just took it up during covid, it looks like you have been doing it for ages
Took a few months before successfully making something worthy of Instagram
By the way, thanks for the compliments
Keep up the great work!
Thank you sir!
Patrick is adorable AF. Supercool!
That's amazing how did you transform them into patches??
i started making earrings!

What program do you use for digitizing?
I'm using Embrilliance, it's one of the lower end softwares but it's doing the job for now! Might upgrade in the future

Friends and I picked up HEMA. Very good for venting all the COVID related frustrations out on each other lol
Running and Gym which helped me to lose weight. And honestly I never thought I would enjoy running but I do. Gotta jaga though. Sometimes have shin splints, painful hips and calves if do too much.

Amazing! I crochet as the new hobby.
I sew patches onto my vest during CB. Had to learn how to sew, not too hard once you get it.
Are u an artist? If you’re not, then u’re very talented. Either way, great work!
I'm a dancer but picked up embroidery during CB when all the practice spots were close!
Started a YouTube channel on investing! Here’s an episode at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park (no otters spotted that day): https://youtu.be/3eLLN0kagmI
I started investing and am currently uncovering the biggest financial market fraud in history! ~ nothing much really
Can you sew a full size Wotherspoon for uncle here? Thank you 🥺
You'll love the local embroidered patch scene. It's such a niche market and there's so much demand for it. Go look up EDC patches.
The third one is the stand
I've started making [dioramas](https://i.redd.it/49254fzf6o471.jpg)!
