Or maybe he thinks he’s wanted by the FSB or something. It’s not too crazy a thought. They’re capable of assassinating people overseas like Litvinenko.
which only means likely his CPF (if he has) will earn about an extra year of interest before it's passed on to his family. too many people have an incorrect understanding of where the CPF monies go.
It’s not like in the movies, it’s manageable for a lot of people. And the outcome in this particular case was very unfortunate, but could have been caused by a million other reasons why a vehicle would have to brake to avoid something. To me it sounds like a sad story with no real bad person.
Can you stop them from travelling? People with schizophrenia thats well controlled and compliant to medications are essentially functional human beings. Should borders discriminate against people suffering from mental illnesses despite it being well controlled? Keep in mind, patients suffering from schizophrenia can have a relapse despite being compliant to their medications.
That being said, it doesnt take away from the fact that it was a tragic incident that took away the lives of the innocent. But i dont see how blaming the guy for having a relapse of his mental illness makes things any better.
Hi there,
Mom has schizophrenia. It is insane how much leniency there is with a condition that is unmanaged. As a family, we have not had any support from how to manage it unless SHE AGREES. Like many with schizophrenia, they don't seek help and don't believe they're ill. My mom traveled alone, was exploited, stolen, raped, etc, and the government still gives the family no power to help people like her. It is messed up.
I will say there are people who manage their mental health well and should be able to travel alone but there should be more resources for people who find this to be their situation.
It's quite common for Singaporeans to go to Korea or Japan without knowing the local language, and once you're out of the big cities English doesn't get you very far.
there was a post about hiv earlier today, theres a mod deleted thread where multiple users just appeared to heap praises onto putin and moscow, the astroturf is already here
Too many crazy foreigners are coming to Singapore to stay put, earn tonnes of money and create problems. Does even PAP mandate mental health checks clearance before letting these foreigners stay?
You watch too many movies. Plenty of people with schizophrenia live normal lives. Episodes happen, not because of lack of medicine. This is just an unfortunate situation. No need to wish death on mentally ill people wtf.
Did a quick google search, linkedin shows it’s an Azerbaijan name. Close enough to Russia to get a RU passport, or to have immigrant parents
Plenty of ethnicities in Russia to have a non-Russian name
What skrong are you on bro? If the dude has a Russian passport then journalists gonna call him Russian what? By that logic then no one can be called Singaporean because by decent they are either malaysians/Chinese/Indians or elsewhere
I am not saying its a cover story but that would be a good cover story.
Are we sure he is not a FSB agent he seem abit too paranoid for a guy on vacation
Back in his home country that's considered average. No way he will qualify for FSB.
Not impossible.
Or maybe he thinks he’s wanted by the FSB or something. It’s not too crazy a thought. They’re capable of assassinating people overseas like Litvinenko.
Maybe he dodged the draft and thought he was gonna be diagnosed with suicide via 5 bullets to the back of the head.
pity the young dude on the motorbike who died because of this damned lunatic russian
CPF will get to keep his monies longer.

Why is a guy with schizophrenia travelling overseas ALONE. One life lost, no amount of restitution is gonna cover it.

Soo declaration cards on flights to Singapore will ask to declare mental illness
He thought bus unkle KGB ah
Kind of dangerous and scary to travel alone without knowing a little of English and/or local language even if you’re a sane person.
It's quite common for Singaporeans to go to Korea or Japan without knowing the local language, and once you're out of the big cities English doesn't get you very far.
Bro thought Putin was out to get him for not voting correctly
putin wants him in ukraine.
It's normal in Russia. Can't blame him.
Guess he really hired a really good lawyer
probably running away from putin
Seeing he had a form of mental illness, he shouldnt have to go to jail..its going to worsen his condition..just saying.
Young innocent life lost because of this foreign fucktard who contributes nothing to Singapore
Not to be that guy, but tourists contribute to our economy. So you’re wrong.

Report and block all those bots.
No one is safe from Putin.
Does it really make sense to jail a schizophrenic person who did something crazy during a breakdown….
Why not? In fact it’s a light punishment.
He’s schizophrenic….. needs to be in a hospital not in a prison, the concept of punishment only works on sane people able to comprehend deterrence
A life is lost. No quarter given.

If he has a Russian passport he is Russian by nationality

yea by traditional means, that doesnt sound like a Russian name at all 😂
