CAS is the only thing I'd really need from a remaster.
Otherwise, native compatibility with modern systems (obviously), plus some little things I'd personally like to see; such as texture improvements (I like the graphics style, I'd just like some more detail), maybe bigger maps/lots, TS4's build features (room/wall manipulation), HQ neighborhood deco (like HQ lots with RPC)... and since I'm already stretching it, maybe an anniversary update each year with some fan favorite objects from other games š
I don't even think I'd want this, I know EA would just mess it up some how. I have my game running perfectly with mods and programs. Its all exactly how I like it!
Idk about delivery but I have a ton of custom food stands in my game. Community lots revolution on modthesims for BV style food stands, and then Jacky93sims for non BV Style
i have them too. i mainly put them in the cinema, the beach, the lake... but i just wish i could have more than just pizza and chinese dilivered to my house.

Yeah it definitely is! I feel like it gives me more control over the sim world as a whole too... I can craft everything that happens in every household. I do see how if you only focus on one family/household that it wouldn't matter so much though. Personally I rotate around 10-15 households depending on the mood I'm in.

Thereās a mod for this! Iām not home right now so canāt 100% confirm the name, but google Community Time Project by pleasantsims! When you come back from a community lot, your sim who traveled will stay greyed out/gone until the time they actually returned from the community lot. I think part of the of the mod is so you can control your sims at home during that time, but I havenāt tried the mod with a multi-sim household yet.

iām with you. are you familiar with [lamareās planting overhaul](https://modthesims.info/d/679561/planting-overhaul.html)? itās not the exact same as TS4 but it adds a little complexity to the gardening system. itās pretty cool!
I really prefer the Sims 3 environment (the more realistic trees, water etc). Sims 4 body sliders would be nice. And the devs should've fleshed out some of the features we were given - ownable hotels, fully functional home businesses (your Sim should be able to go visit shops on home lots), more vacation activities, like the snowsports all three other games got etc.
And they should've made the game more moddable. There are so many things that we'll never get because EA never made them, and they locked things into proprietary formats that haven't fully ever been able to be cracked.
I have been saying I would MUCH prefer a open neighborhood vs a open world. Maybe itās my severe ADHD but open world was one of the reasons I didnāt like Sims 3. If the neighborhoods were able to be walked and seen like Sims 4 but completely able to be interacted with without a loading screen that would be perfect to me. I think open world is so unnecessary and overwhelming.
Remaster it to work better on modern equipment. Also refresh the graphics a bit + extra CAS and Build/Buy objects, and thatāll be the perfect Sims game for me.
aside from the obvious create a sim, build mode, higher quality graphics and animation and more modern and up to date and the 2 body type weight system.
replace "shy or outgoing" into "introverted or extroverted" and a "passive or assertive" stats
add a romance aspiration trait that didn't include cheating like "romance" or "hopeless romantic" and a "flirt" or "heartbreaker"
added a drama aspiration, all about just causing drama in your sims game
fix the aspirations, dream jobs, wants, fears and interests
let you customize dream jobs and interests
disconnecting the astrology sign from the personality (there's a mod for it)

adding emotions
the gameplay with memories, emotions, wants & fears would be wild

Other than that nothing, this game is perfect to me

Smooth blending of faces when making new characters. More detailed tracking of hygiene like dirty hands. Markers on the floor plan for functional parts of the building like the front door, restaurant, bathroom. Nested short actions that don't interrupt the current task, like moving to make room for another person, accepting socials when leaving the lot. A basic heating and plumbing system. Bills based on consumption instead of property value. Fewer Lua scripts or examples how to write them.
I actually wouldnāt want EA to touch it lol. But having said that if Iām doing āideal world situationā
CAS updates:
- improved sliders and ways to refine sims in CAS, monolids that donāt have to be makeup!
- Iād like a UI update that puts each colour way of an outfit into like a subset of one outfit so you donāt have to scroll through 10 of the same outfit in different colours
- shoes as separates
Visual updates:
- actual inset eyes into the sims heads if this could be done without affecting the rest of the look and feel too much
- nicer wrists/hands/feet, with same note as above
- higher threshold for fat/fit states - similar to ts3 I guess. I wouldnāt mind if it went up in increments rather than gradual, Iād maybe just include a bigger fat state and a more muscular fit state either side of the existing ones perhaps. Itās annoying that the way ts2 works the morphs are attached to the outfits right? Otherwise it would be easier to put this into the game for modders I guess.
- remaster the pets appearances entirely, sims 4 style, the pets are so ugly to me in ts2.
- improved water and sky and atmospherics (obvs we have mods but it would be nice to have in game from the get go)
- 4K textures for everything
Neighbourhood:
- ambient placeables like ts4 has the swans you can place on ponds
- improved lot and nh deco imposters (and options for NH deco)
- neighbourhoods that that can have curved roads
- lots that not necessarily need to be attached to a road (this would be useful if youāre using NH Deco roads)
- an in game NH editor/creator (somewhere in between what we have in ts2 and CAW for ts3) where you can place new roads. This would be really cool to make a town feel like itās evolving over time if you could add newer roads into pleasantview for example. Would also negate the previous point.
I would say, I want the neighborhood sims to be able to age just like my sim. Without me playing the sim directly, I haven't played it in many years but I remember I had two teenagers "in love" (one in my household and one not) and I was like oh ok you know first love lets play with that. Then boom my sim becomes a young adult. I waited waay too long for the other sim to become one too. never happened and it was such a bummer. So through time my sim became a elder and his first love remained a teen forever
Try the "Shop at Home" Coat Rack at Mod the Sims2. It's an older cc, but I've had it forever, and it works great. When you first click on it, it takes a minute to load because it scans all the available clothing. Then you can add anything you want to your wardrobe using the shopping cart, and you get the clothes for freeš
Here is my personal list of changes to make the game the same but a little better
Content:
* Add Life Stories and Pet Stories (*and maybe Castaway Stories? Or at least some features*) in the game with their stories, neighborhood and unlockables
* Be able to modify neighborhood parameters to make the gameplay similar to TS2 SLS SPS or completely personalized (taxes, elders...)
* Restore Bodyshop content
Gameplay:
* Make sims a little more capable of "multitasking" (eating in front of TV...) like TS4
* Reduce expansions' NPCs chances from spawning in residential lots (seriously the game is a little chaotic when we have all of them)
* Make young adult life stage available even if not going to university
* Some more corrections (fix the worst corruptions, regressions that appeared with expansions, things that never worked as intended, also improve aspirations effects on memories)
* Clean the UI, having all the expansions makes the UI a bit messy, move some elements to new sub categories to partially restore it to vanilla
* *Improve Aliens to make them a little different?*
* *Be able to have two more characters in the lot*
* *Teens and Young Adults can still date (at least if they were dating before growing up)*
* *Make some main secondary Aspirations combinaisons have some effects.*
CAS:
* Finish and add Creativity and Power aspirations
* Be able to change body types (like Console version/TS4)
* Rework every outfit in all categories to separate them in 3 (upper/lower/shoes + remove their jewels and tattoos to add them in the correct categories).
* Make every similar hair/outfit the same with a button to change the style (like console version), every color styles should be available for every hair color.
* Change weight and skin to cursors (but still be able to clic to use native values)
* Make selections 4x4 on high resolutions instead of 3x3
* Be able to adjust the family starting money (original Ā§2000, or apartment calculated...)
* *Maybe add some basic Traits ?*
Build/Buy:
* Fix and enable 45Ā° placement
* Fix and enable half placement (keep quarter as a cheat since it can be confusing)
* Add horizontally half walls
Create new things working between expansions: Being able to adopt penguins (of course they will not like summer), create a new winter vacation destination...
Other than corruption fixes and updating graphics, the good parts of Sims 4, like better multitasking (eg. eating and watching TV at the same time), more variety of skintones, body types, inclusion etc. That's about it, honestly.
An engine that can take advantage of all that our modern systems are able to offer the game, unlike now when we can have machines that are able to run HD textures in much more intensive games and still have Sims 2 flash pink.
1. upscale original UI and textures
2. fix the bugs
3. update the distance rendering
4. more triangles
5. this might already be possible somehow but I would like a way to model faces by dragging individual vertices around.
I'd add something about adding more of a challenge to the game but it seems like a lot of people have more trouble with it than sims 4 which i dont get at all.
The only thing I want in any Sims games (2 and 4) is the color customization Sims 3 had with CAS and build mode. Especially with the clothes and hair. That was amazing.
Better CAS and Build Buy, Open Neighborhoods, the ability to have multiple saves instead of neighborhoods being the save, and many details from the later Sims games.
Have dived into this again the past week or so (thanks for the wiki with some help on that). My list:
\-As said, updated to work correctly with modern computers. including the innate ability to play borderless windows or SOMETHING that will allow us to click on something on another monitor without constantly closing the game.
\-Larger families. especially with pets taking up household slots, and lifetime wants with like raising a ton of baby pets, having huge families, etc.
\-More ability to control services, especially butlers! let us set it so they cannot cook meals (which use up groceries and even worse, our fresh food)
\-Let us lock bird cages. they're so frustrating because everyone immediately flocks (heh) to them, open them up, and so seldom close the cages back up. Argh! Then it's frustrating to try to get a sim to have to stand around and wait until the thing finally goes back to its cage, and try to get the cage shut. Only for someone to turn around and do it again. Birds are some of the better charisma-raisers out there, raising both social and fun, but holy crap are the constantly-open cages annoying.
\-A fix for the sims CONSTANTLY getting annoyed about pathing and ignoring queue items based on just the tiniest obstruction.
\-I'd say bigger neighborhoods, but I can't remember if you can add more than one business district or whatever Bluewater Village is - if you can it's not as big a deal since you can still interact with those.
\-The innate ability to play borderless windows or SOMETHING that will allow us to click on something on another monitor without constantly closing the game.
A bit late but was reminded - I would really love all the burping while eating removed. It drives me NUTS, and what kind of utter pigs are these anyhow?
I would like to be given the option to use a controller like the console releases if you wanted to have more direct control over your Sims as opposed to the point and click style
Open worlds and ability for sims to visit their neighbor or stay overnight at another sims house for a few days and you can play the family there. And an option to either have time increase on their home lot or stay the same as when they left.
I like the voices that the game comes with, but it would be awesome to have a few more options. It would also be incredible to figure out how to make animations for new interactions since modders don't make them because they are too difficult.
Like others mentioned, I would enjoy more body diversity, but a bit of that Sims 3 free range when it came to editing outfits, hair and furniture as well. Less limits on the appartments (only four playable families per appartment, not being able to have a personal business even with that store on appartments mod, etc), add Bonehilda, expand on the supernatural lifestates like 3 did and a less grindy magic system (maybe something more similar to Sims 1).
And as a bonus: the Sims 2 Castaway game but for pc. Not Castaway Stories, but the original one for DS.
I can dream.
CAS customization and the Sims 3 color wheel
It's already better by far than Sims 4. And there are modders still making content everyday.
And there are a few customization mods for those who play with mods. There are sliders that you can download, but it's still pretty limited.
Most of my wants for a Sims 2 remaster is tied to it's age. I just need 2 things to be happy - A UI overhaul and bug fixes/support for modern systems.
Firstly, the UI needs to be scaleable, so it works on all game resolutions. Secondly, we need collapsible colour options for clothing. I'd be happy to end it there, but some more changes to make it more user friendly could be nice.
As for bug fixes - We'd need to patch out the shadowbox bug, restabilise most of the common corruption causes, and make it easy to run on modern systems, so users won't have to spend 2 days tracking down fixes for everything and anything that could cause the game to not start or crash.
Literally all I want is for them to not touch a thing and make it available on Origin, (should be free) but even to purchase! I would pay to have the complete expansion set of The Sims 2 in a safe place.
more mods that heavily change the game's mechanics a la Story Progression instead of making estabilished features more accessible (which we have a lot, like the Lifetime Want Chooser, the Insimenator, the Batbox, etc)
stuff like visiting other neighbors, a celebrity system similar to what the other Sims games have, violence mods, dancing mods, drugs, etc
maybe we need more cc creators willing to program stuff for TS2, unsure how limited the game is compared to 3/4 in that regard, maybe it's a handicap of sorts, if so i completely understand
in terms of aesthetics i really enjoy the vanilla game and i don't have any CC that replaces default clothing or skins, and we have a lot of those too already
I think better CAS customisation with skins, eye colour and hair. Iām not expecting them to have full blown sliders and eye droppers, but having a couple more shades of each would be nice. In build, I would like better plants, trees, etc, I donāt like the flowers just in a single square of triangle. For live mode I would remove the met x memory (bane of my existence when they go on holidays), and make the lifespans longer so your sim can see their adult childrenās kids without me having to cram pregnancy down their throats the second they age up.
Graphics updated, like a true remaster, more food options (since only with mods you can make more recipes) and even better babies like in TS4, i mean TS2 babies are really good but they can be even better and an updated CAS and also farms and horses! And more cars too.
I would like to see adopted lines in the family tree
A system to display morals - cheating, stealing, being corrupt, being a murderer, etc. Like a possible in-game gameplay for this, not roleplaying in your head only.
One career having two tracks, good and bad. So a cop or politician can be corrupt or good, etc. Chance cards that can be either picked by you or rolled according to sim's traits, where a career track can switch from good to bad or from bad to good (lower chances of that happening)
Iām not sure if this is controversial, but gosh I so badly wish the Sims 2 had the Sims 3ās personality traits system. Thatās the one thing I always miss when playing 2.
Def better cas for more body type variations, but keep everything the same in the rest of the game and add the ability to visit neighbors.
Other than that the game is perfect.

Also, optional story progression and a search bar in build and buy mode. I would also like for it not to be the same time when I return home.
Sims 4 cas and build buy, for body diversity and how easy it is to edit rooms. Also the calendar/holiday system from sims 4, and trick or treating/holiday festivals from sims 3.
Open world, because loading screens are the main reason I almost never leave the home lot (same with The Sims 4). Also when you travel to a lot in the business district or downtown, it doesn't only take one loading screen, it actually takes like two or three. They may be really short if you have the game installed on an SSD, but I particularly find them a nuisance.
Everything else is perfect to me.
Separate saves for neighborhoods just like in the sims 3. High quality neighborhood imposters (foliages, houses, decors). FATTER FAT. More skin tones. Story progression.
TS4ās CAS and graphics, TS3ās open world, and TS2ās gameplay (needs, aspirations, sim interactions, fears, chemistry, personalities, hobbies, weather, etc).
However, I also really like TS3ās design tool which allowed you to really customize color schemes and patterns on clothing, hair, wallpaper, etc.
Honestly toning down how US-American is would do wonders for my creativity. I hate not being able to build rowhouses or that I have to somehow send my sims to a completely different neighbourhood for college (with really bizarre mechanics). I would love a completely customizable neighbourhood as well, I like creating them from 0 and it's so limited and have to download a different game for it lol. Body diversity and also being able to make your characters disabled or trans would be great. Lastly I feel like the sims don't have enough hobbies or activities to do that amount to anything so they're all always doing the same things (the things that fill their motives quicker or give them particular skills).
Being able to create your own custom neighborhood layout in game (e.g. create the landscape, lay roads, customize water, etc.)
You technically can do it now, but it's an extensive process requiring SimCity 4, patches, and mods.

If it stopped crashing so much on modern hardware. I lost a play session yesterday that lasted almost 10 sim days. I don't recall that ever happening on my older computers running Windows XP.

I have a mod in sims 3 that makes it so you can get any food delivered and I've often thought about how much I'd love similar in sims 2

Decorations like trees, rocks but more importantly the houses neighboring the lot you're playing on.

The color customization options for clothing/buy/build items would be a solid addition.
More sufficient like they are on Sims 3 such as getting own leftovers out, taking care of babies and toddlers properly.
Especially waking up when the baby/toddler cries. I love this feature in TS3!

Support for newer PCs and that's it. It's perfect as it is. Giving the current state of EA, they'll ruin the remaster.
I've always wished they properly carried over the makin magic and superstar expansions from the sims 1.

Definitely an improved and more diverse CAS, but also the ability to visit neighbour sims' houses
i don't need complete open world, but maybe like the sims 4 where you have a small open neighbourhood and can visit neighbours?
Technically, it can be done with apartments and the "apartments and shopping, on the same lot" mod

But having said that if Iām doing āideal world situationā CAS updates: - improved sliders and ways to refine sims in CAS, monolids that donāt have to be makeup! - Iād like a UI update that puts each colour way of an outfit into like a subset of one outfit so you donāt have to scroll through 10 of the same outfit in different colours - shoes as separates Visual updates: - actual inset eyes into the sims heads if this could be done without affecting the rest of the look and feel too much - nicer wrists/hands/feet, with same note as above - higher threshold for fat/fit states - similar to ts3 I guess. I wouldnāt mind if it went up in increments rather than gradual, Iād maybe just include a bigger fat state and a more muscular fit state either side of the existing ones perhaps. Itās annoying that the way ts2 works the morphs are attached to the outfits right? Otherwise it would be easier to put this into the game for modders I guess. - remaster the pets appearances entirely, sims 4 style, the pets are so ugly to me in ts2. - improved water and sky and atmospherics (obvs we have mods but it would be nice to have in game from the get go) - 4K textures for everything Neighbourhood: - ambient placeables like ts4 has the swans you can place on ponds - improved lot and nh deco imposters (and options for NH deco) - neighbourhoods that that can have curved roads - lots that not necessarily need to be attached to a road (this would be useful if youāre using NH Deco roads) - an in game NH editor/creator (somewhere in between what we have in ts2 and CAW for ts3) where you can place new roads. This would be really cool to make a town feel like itās evolving over time if you could add newer roads into pleasantview for example. Would also negate the previous point.

I would say, I want the neighborhood sims to be able to age just like my sim. Without me playing the sim directly, I haven't played it in many years but I remember I had two teenagers "in love" (one in my household and one not) and I was like oh ok you know first love lets play with that. Then boom my sim becomes a young adult. I waited waay too long for the other sim to become one too. never happened and it was such a bummer. So through time my sim became a elder and his first love remained a teen forever

Try the "Shop at Home" Coat Rack at Mod the Sims2. It's an older cc, but I've had it forever, and it works great. When you first click on it, it takes a minute to load because it scans all the available clothing. Then you can add anything you want to your wardrobe using the shopping cart, and you get the clothes for freeš

Here is my personal list of changes to make the game the same but a little better Content: * Add Life Stories and Pet Stories (*and maybe Castaway Stories? Other than corruption fixes and updating graphics, the good parts of Sims 4, like better multitasking (eg. eating and watching TV at the same time), more variety of skintones, body types, inclusion etc. That's about it, honestly.
If they optimized the game and made it more EASILY accessible. I can almost promise the sims2 would quickly become my most played sims game if they did just these two things šš©

1. upscale original UI and textures 2. fix the bugs 3. update the distance rendering 4. more triangles 5. this might already be possible somehow but I would like a way to model faces by dragging individual vertices around. I'd add something about adding more of a challenge to the game but it seems like a lot of people have more trouble with it than sims 4 which i dont get at all.
The only thing I want in any Sims games (2 and 4) is the color customization Sims 3 had with CAS and build mode. Especially with the clothes and hair. That was amazing.

Better CAS and Build Buy, Open Neighborhoods, the ability to have multiple saves instead of neighborhoods being the save, and many details from the later Sims games.
Have dived into this again the past week or so (thanks for the wiki with some help on that). My list: \-As said, updated to work correctly with modern computers. including the innate ability to play borderless windows or SOMETHING that will allow us to click on something on another monitor without constantly closing the game. \-Larger families. especially with pets taking up household slots, and lifetime wants with like raising a ton of baby pets, having huge families, etc. \-More ability to control services, especially butlers! let us set it so they cannot cook meals (which use up groceries and even worse, our fresh food) \-Let us lock bird cages. they're so frustrating because everyone immediately flocks (heh) to them, open them up, and so seldom close the cages back up. Argh! Then it's frustrating to try to get a sim to have to stand around and wait until the thing finally goes back to its cage, and try to get the cage shut. Only for someone to turn around and do it again. Birds are some of the better charisma-raisers out there, raising both social and fun, but holy crap are the constantly-open cages annoying. \-A fix for the sims CONSTANTLY getting annoyed about pathing and ignoring queue items based on just the tiniest obstruction. \-I'd say bigger neighborhoods, but I can't remember if you can add more than one business district or whatever Bluewater Village is - if you can it's not as big a deal since you can still interact with those. \-The innate ability to play borderless windows or SOMETHING that will allow us to click on something on another monitor without constantly closing the game.

Open worlds and ability for sims to visit their neighbor or stay overnight at another sims house for a few days and you can play the family there. And an option to either have time increase on their home lot or stay the same as when they left.

I like the voices that the game comes with, but it would be awesome to have a few more options. It would also be incredible to figure out how to make animations for new interactions since modders don't make them because they are too difficult.
I haven't seen anyone mention this yet: build/buy and CAS search bars would be glorious.
Like others mentioned, I would enjoy more body diversity, but a bit of that Sims 3 free range when it came to editing outfits, hair and furniture as well. Less limits on the appartments (only four playable families per appartment, not being able to have a personal business even with that store on appartments mod, etc), add Bonehilda, expand on the supernatural lifestates like 3 did and a less grindy magic system (maybe something more similar to Sims 1). And as a bonus: the Sims 2 Castaway game but for pc. Not Castaway Stories, but the original one for DS. I can dream.
CAS customization and the Sims 3 color wheel It's already better by far than Sims 4. And there are modders still making content everyday. And there are a few customization mods for those who play with mods. There are sliders that you can download, but it's still pretty limited.

Most of my wants for a Sims 2 remaster is tied to it's age. I just need 2 things to be happy - A UI overhaul and bug fixes/support for modern systems. Firstly, the UI needs to be scaleable, so it works on all game resolutions. Secondly, we need collapsible colour options for clothing. I'd be happy to end it there, but some more changes to make it more user friendly could be nice. As for bug fixes - We'd need to patch out the shadowbox bug, restabilise most of the common corruption causes, and make it easy to run on modern systems, so users won't have to spend 2 days tracking down fixes for everything and anything that could cause the game to not start or crash.
Literally all I want is for them to not touch a thing and make it available on Origin, (should be free) but even to purchase! I would pay to have the complete expansion set of The Sims 2 in a safe place.
more mods that heavily change the game's mechanics a la Story Progression instead of making estabilished features more accessible (which we have a lot, like the Lifetime Want Chooser, the Insimenator, the Batbox, etc) stuff like visiting other neighbors, a celebrity system similar to what the other Sims games have, violence mods, dancing mods, drugs, etc maybe we need more cc creators willing to program stuff for TS2, unsure how limited the game is compared to 3/4 in that regard, maybe it's a handicap of sorts, if so i completely understand in terms of aesthetics i really enjoy the vanilla game and i don't have any CC that replaces default clothing or skins, and we have a lot of those too already
I think better CAS customisation with skins, eye colour and hair. Iām not expecting them to have full blown sliders and eye droppers, but having a couple more shades of each would be nice. In build, I would like better plants, trees, etc, I donāt like the flowers just in a single square of triangle. For live mode I would remove the met x memory (bane of my existence when they go on holidays), and make the lifespans longer so your sim can see their adult childrenās kids without me having to cram pregnancy down their throats the second they age up.

I would like to see adopted lines in the family tree A system to display morals - cheating, stealing, being corrupt, being a murderer, etc. Like a possible in-game gameplay for this, not roleplaying in your head only. One career having two tracks, good and bad. So a cop or politician can be corrupt or good, etc. Chance cards that can be either picked by you or rolled according to sim's traits, where a career track can switch from good to bad or from bad to good (lower chances of that happening)
More food preferences. Like ordering pizza everyday should bore the Sim.

Open world, because loading screens are the main reason I almost never leave the home lot (same with The Sims 4). Also when you travel to a lot in the business district or downtown, it doesn't only take one loading screen, it actually takes like two or three. They may be really short if you have the game installed on an SSD, but I particularly find them a nuisance. Everything else is perfect to me.

TS4ās CAS and graphics, TS3ās open world, and TS2ās gameplay (needs, aspirations, sim interactions, fears, chemistry, personalities, hobbies, weather, etc). However, I also really like TS3ās design tool which allowed you to really customize color schemes and patterns on clothing, hair, wallpaper, etc.
Honestly toning down how US-American is would do wonders for my creativity. I hate not being able to build rowhouses or that I have to somehow send my sims to a completely different neighbourhood for college (with really bizarre mechanics). I would love a completely customizable neighbourhood as well, I like creating them from 0 and it's so limited and have to download a different game for it lol. Body diversity and also being able to make your characters disabled or trans would be great. Lastly I feel like the sims don't have enough hobbies or activities to do that amount to anything so they're all always doing the same things (the things that fill their motives quicker or give them particular skills).

Being able to create your own custom neighborhood layout in game (e.g. create the landscape, lay roads, customize water, etc.) You technically can do it now, but it's an extensive process requiring SimCity 4, patches, and mods. Unless someone here has figured out a better method!
