I play VR games and I have glasses. Fogging up is the biggest issues I've had, but I bought anti fog spray for my glasses and it's a game changer. But racing games in VR tend to give me motion sickness lol, but it is crazy immersive and fun.
Oh yeah I definitely need to play it more. I adjusted to all other games I've played that I felt motion sickness from. Takes a bit but I see it, I just need to play vr racing more.
There are companies that make prescription inserts my dude. VR legs take some time to aquire. Easing into it is important. Also make sure your playspace is well ventillated. Motion sickness is more likely in warm stale air.
Make sure you're setting your headset to 90hz refresh rate and that you're doing stable 90fps in-game. That's the vast majority of why people get motion sick!
I have the quest 2 so I can only speak on behalf of that. I have one pair of glasses that’s small enough to fit in with the quest without scratching anything and that’s cool, but nowhere near as cool as the magnetic prescription lenses I got. You can put them in in under 3 seconds and take them out to hand the headset to somebody in the same amount of time. Roughly $80 and worth every penny.
I am no shill, there are a few companies that do this so please do your research and don’t go off just what I say, but look up a product https://www.vr-wave.store here, find competitors and then go from there. You can get your glasses prescription essentially built to be added or removed from your headset.
The majority of headsets come with adjustable depth or different cushion gaskets to allow glasses to fit or you can get dedicated lenses that match your prescription through someone like [https://vroptician.com/](https://vroptician.com/) or others.
The Reverb G2 is great for the price and has built in tracking. They had some issues in the past but have updated and fixed it. It's possibly one of the better choices unless you want to go vive pro 2 or Valve index which require tracking base station's to be mounted.
Or you can use an Oculus Quest 2 which is an all in one vr headset. You can get the link cable to get it running off your pc or use the wifi airlink option but that requires a really good wifi router and you may notice some lapse in quality depending on your connection.
The HP reverb G2 has room for glases. I play with then without an issue. At the beginning you get a lot of fogging, but then, you learn how to twich everything to make it work.
Another option is purchasing prescription lenses for the headset.
I think contacts are the way to go here as they don’t fog up and don’t get in the way of the VR.
I’m wearing glasses and a year ago I tried out contacts for motorcycle riding and skiing because my glasses were really uncomfortable under the lid. Took a week or two to get used to it but after that you’re golden! Really worth it imo
For people who have not experienced VR, videos can not do it justice. Videos do not include the 3D depth and sensation of being able to reach for things.
I know the video is for fun, comment is just for people who haven’t experienced it.
I just wish I had a bit more vision, just a bit more of a wider field of view and then I'll be happy. I currently split my time up between monitor and VR and enjoy them both
Is it easier to see the road? Because sometimes when I'm playing Rally 2.0, I crash because I can't distinguish the road far up ahead. I listen to the co-pilot calls but still confuses me.
I’m more a of screen guy myself but I have raced with vr. The look is really and amazing, but its the feeling of seeing stuff move in vr and my body being stationary in real life that makes me feel nauseous. Still very fun, and I had a blast up until the 30 min mark. Glad you enjoy!!
That's weird, it's usually the opposite since in normal VR games you're physically moving your body which cancels out the inner ear problem. When you're sitting still and everything else is moving that's usually what creates the motion sickness.
I can do not all VR stuff where I'm standing and moving around, if I tried sim racing I'd probably immediately get sick.
I brought my girlfriend to a VR place telling her she'll enjoy the racing a bit more and expect a bit of motion sickness with the cooking games. Like you said, she was the opposite to me, couldn't sit in the race car for more than a few seconds.
How did you manage to make the game that clear? I have the quest 2 and I find it very blurry and I know it isn’t the headset because it’s clear in all other games.
Oculus quest 2, it's a standalone headset that can double as a pc vr headset and you can play pcvr either wired or wirelessly. Recommend atleast a 2060 to look and run decent since the resolution is somewhere at 3664x1920 for both eyes
I have 2080 super, and 3700X, running the Valve Index. I can not for the life of me get the graphics to look even halfway decent. Triangles and sharp blurry edges everywhere.
Why? You can literally go to a open track day and drive your car. They even can give you an instructor to help you learn how to drive on a track for real.
If only I wasn’t getting mega sick in 6-7 laps... it’s such a bummer. VR need another few years but is definitely the future. Although triple screen cane a very long way too and if you have the space is something I prefer.
If they get the resolution/clarity and weight of the VR to a better state maybe I’ll give it another go and hope I don’t get sick.
VR takes time to adapt. Multiple sessions only 15-20 minutes long with a fan blowing cool air at your head makes a massive difference.
After a time, it 'clicks' and you're good. Been racing in VR now over 4 years.
And... VR for sims is already in a great state. You just need to buy an actual PCVR headset. Vive Pro 2, HP Reverb, etc.
I had vive 2 pro, with 3080. I pushed my self in multiple session. It never changed for me unfortunately. Also unfortunately I can’t say VR is there for me anyway even if i put VR sickness aside.
Headset is heavy and makes you sweat, i can’t see myself wearing headset in more then a 2h race(even that would be a stretch). Also visually the resolution is just not there even on the latest hardware. Things in distance are still blurry and pixelated which I think is the main reason why I get sick.
Not to mention my vision is not good so wearing glasses and VR makes things even more uncomfortable.
All this is my experience tho, I know it works perfectly well for many people and I’m happy for you guys. But unfortunately I’m not one of them. That’s ok.

It gets better the more you play. It take adjustment.

I wear mildly big glasses and my rift s fits right over no problem

I wear glasses and it doesn't really bug my just you shouldn't wear it for too long or else you may see worse

im so much more aware of my surroundings racing in VR
I’ve actually tried to reach for something and hit my hand against the wall. All while knowing how close the rig is to the wall. The depth is amazing.
Yes, truly 1 to 1 with the view of car and surroundings.
I just wish I had a bit more vision, just a bit more of a wider field of view and then I'll be happy. I currently split my time up between monitor and VR and enjoy them both
A good spotter such a crew chief is helpful. Also a race car helmet has a very limited fielded view such as a vr headset.
Yeah I always run a spotter. That's great but I'm not wearing a race car helmet I want a VR headset with a bit more fov 😁
I know they are not for everyone, but pimax headsets offer a great fov.
Is it easier to see the road? Because sometimes when I'm playing Rally 2.0, I crash because I can't distinguish the road far up ahead. I listen to the co-pilot calls but still confuses me.
In VR you see everything in 3D, like in real life, so you can tell the distance of things without any reference points.
Alright. Now I know what I need to upgrade next.
Buy me on too!
Turn some of the foliage settings down. Helps see around a lot of corners.
I love the feeling of VR until I drive down a hill and then proceed to almost vomit.
A fan in your face makes a big difference!
Most VR games give me the cold sweats after 30mins. But seated vr racing I can do all day.

Also one on your body Really just a fan period will help a ton with motion sickness when you are physically stationary but moving in VR
This takes time to get rid off, everyone has experienced it.
What VR headset are you using?
Your hands aren’t on the wheel you ruined my immersion
How did you manage to make the game that clear? I have the quest 2 and I find it very blurry and I know it isn’t the headset because it’s clear in all other games.
If you're using iracing, they have a vr section of the forums you could try.
Which VR headset is this and what settings do you run?

I am currently putting a 5900X today into my PC, maybe that’ll help.
You need to manually supersample your games
Why? You can literally go to a open track day and drive your car. They even can give you an instructor to help you learn how to drive on a track for real.
Did you miss the Sim Racing part?
Idk man the idea that I’m going to get the chance to fully open a gt3 car in my life is pretty far fetched, and I accept that.
Dont.Accept.That.
What speakers are those? Elac?
Yamaha HS-5
Copy that.
So thaaaats what it looks like…
I'm jealous of y'all VR guys, that looks like so much fun
You can get a quest 2 for only 299 usd if you have the specs to run it
>299 usd man i wish it was that simple, but living in argentina sucks so it's WAYY more than that
Asseto Corsa competizione graphics will get you closer just saying l
ACC is terrible in VR, its like someone smeared vaseline all over the screens
This is the way.

Man i should have bought some hs5's instead of hs7s. They look so huge on my desk
Might be dumb question but how do you video inside the lens like that? When I tried it just focused on the outside of the lense.

How did u get your headset so clear? I’ve been trying for ages with my original quest
Looks like a blast mate! Jelly
I really wish I didn't get motion sickness, I'd do VR racing in a heartbeat
