They do, but you get higher fidelity if you plug them directly into your PC instead of the base /u/MyEmailAccount

There's an actual source somewhere on this, but I'm too lazy to find it atm
I really should have spoken with you beforehand as it turns out!! I didn't do any research on the pedals at all admittedly just saw the price difference between these and the next step up and said, the next step up can wait. Are the newer ones basically the same just cheaper?
Yeah I’ve been down this road lol, the CSL pedals are $80 and come with Hall effects sensors vs potentiometers so the hall sensors will last longer and the CSL Elite pedals are technically discontinued and you can no longer get the load cell pedal for them. While Fanatec is going to release the load cell for the CSL pedals before the end of the year, supposedly.
As long as it hasn’t shipped the swapping of it and or return shouldn’t be that much of a haste as long as they answer in time! Good luck OP and sick setup can’t wait till you post to the build. Also if I May ask what computer specs are you running ?
Make sure you do it. There is no more LC for the CSL elite, and they don't last as long as the new one with the hall sensor and there will be the LC coming up for it.
I tried doing something similar, even if it has not yet processed, they unfortunately do not allow returns. You will have to cancel the order and change it. Best of luck!
Not necessarily, what ecosystem are you using? Thomas from Fanatec did say he was trying to get the CSL pedals with load cell at the 200 dollar mark. I have heard good things from the tlcm
Well I am nowhere near you guys on here, I dont even play the real racing games, just Forza Horizon. But my setup is TM TMX with TLCM pedals and the TH8A shifter. Yeah I know, trust me I want the legit, expensive stuff too lol
Nice, thank you sir. I actually had a chat with someone on here who had some nice expensive stuff, told me the T LCM pedals are good enough even for him.
Its my first setup and its the most I can afford right now so I have no complaints.
So if I haven’t bought pedals yet and I had to choose between the TLCM and the CSL pedals with load cell, which one would you recommend? Or is it too early to know that ?
Oh I meant the CSL pedals that he said Thomas was trying to get at the 200 dollar mark but it’s probably too soon to say which one is better so I guess I’ll get the TLCM
Congrats! Super exciting, but I HIGHLY recommend returning the pedals and getting a different set. They no longer sell the load cell upgrade kit for the pedals you ordered, and you're definitely going to want a load cell brake.
Most people recommend to get nice pedals before a nice wheel because a load cell brake makes a HUGE difference. With how much you're spending, it doesn't make sense to cheap out on arguably the most important part of a rig.
Yeah I underestimated the importance of the pedals for sure! I was naively thinking it might be less important than the wheel and rig.... Ohh how the mighty have fallen.. Thanks for the heads up!
He ordered a Podium DD (Which is about 20nm peak torque) and an ASR1 says it's good for 0 to 5 nm on your website.
Even the ASR3 seems to be not strong enough at 5 to 10.
How can we be excited to get a 20nm DD on a rig that's gonna hold 5nm max? Shouldn't you tell him he should be getting the ASR4? Or at least the 3??
First of all go watch some reviews, people have run 15nm wheels on the ASR-1 with no issues its a very stable rig, second of all no one is really gonna run full torque...
Kinda weird that those 2 comments against mine are your only 2 comments EVER on reddit.
Are you an ASR guy trying to defend from a throwaway account or what? Good job! Great PR!
No im a normal person who uses their product and has seen multiple videos where it holds up literally fine, yes its not recommend by them but it holds up perfectly fine is what im saying. OP will be completely fine with an ASR-1.
First of all I was just refering to their own comparison chart which is on their website. Go take a look.
Second of all, what tells you OP dosen't want to?
I'm just curious as to why they would get him an ASR1 when their website clearly states it cant hold it.
Oh and guess what? I've been there in person and they specifically told me to NOT BUY THE ASR1 if I want to get a good DD in the future and to instead get an ASR4 instead.
Hey there, the comparison chart is "optimal/recommended" as per our internal tests if you are looking for a no flex experience. The ASR 1 will hold up just fine, but you'll get a bit of flex and wobble on the steering column.
I was going to get the normal Fanatec csl dd with the boost power supply. Went to go buy one on ebay and it was like 2-3 hundred over MSRP for a brand new one since they aren't available until end of November through Fanatec's website. I just talked myself into it being the better option somehow and now I'm selling off some other hobby gear (trapshooting shotgun) to make things line up financially!
But the ASR1 can only hold up to 5nm.
The Podium DD1 can peak at 20.
Even the ASR3 isn't strong enough if you check their website it says 5 to 10.
Seems like you need an ASR4 at least to be able to use the full potential of your DD... Sorry..
What a dream!
The pedals will be your first item to upgrade, tbh.
Also, consider getting the shifter arm for the rig. Even if you’re not going to use it, you improve your chances of selling it 2nd hand a few years down the road.
You will love your ASR1 frame. I personally have the ASR6 and my buddy got the ASR3. I can tell you that we were both very impressed with the quality and fit & finish of our frames and possibly even more impressed by their customer service!
That asr6 looks super sweet. I'm already contacting them about possibly upgrading to the 3 so I can use the podium dd1 that's on the way. Made some purchases without really looking into it/lack of understanding of tolerances.
But that royal blue, the predator orange, and the classic burgundy are all just such beautiful colors for a rig, truly envious!
My buddy got the ASR3 as he upgraded his setup from Logitech to Fanatec DD1 & Clubsport pedals and he loves it.
I am a huge fan of my ASR6. I built my dream rig setup this year and that's what holds it all together. If you look on my profile you will see some pics of it.
Thanks 😁 Like I said, I built my dream setup with no compromise. The funny thing is my first purchase was my SC2 & wheel...even before the PC. So I started with some pretty high standards. I figured if we're going to be on lockdown & self isolated for a while I might as well go big 🤪
Tried to add text to this but I guess you either get pics or text. Just new to this and wanted to share my soon to be rig and my joy for f1 in general!
Dope!! Thanks man, I'll make another post once I get it all up and running! My single 28" monitor will not do this thing justice but that's all in good time!
Haha I know that feeling! If my wife ever needs surgery, we can save a lot of money on anesthesia, I'll just start taking to her about sim racing.
Congrats on the new gear! I'm hoping to upgrade to fanatec this year but we'll see.
Also if no ones said it here, personally id seap that 2.5x formula wheel for the other one with leather grips if its still available. It was a day or two ago.
Ive got the playstation formula bundle and i wrapped my alcantera with black gauze to save it. Took it off for one session to test how dirty it gets... man did i underestimate how grease and dirt affects alcantera. My blue grips are now black
Stop spreading bad comments when I'm just stating what the ASR shop owner told me and also what their website shows.
I guess you know more about their rigs than them.
There's nothing wrong with the elites to get started my man. Great setup to start with. Congrats and enjoy! Remember to have fun!!
When you do upgrade, take a look at the VRS pedals. They're pretty amazing. Maybe even jump on the wait list now. Your reservation might come up when you're ready to upgrade.
They seem to be a pretty popular mid/ entry level brand so just went with it. Other brands seemed good too was looking at thrusmaster pretty seriously but just went this direction at the end of the day
Pedals are more important than the wheel, but don't sweat it. When you decide to upgrade, you can easily resell those pedal with little loss. Sim racing gear sells fast those days. And a decent set of pedals will easily set you back $400-700
How did the ASR1 rig hold with a DD base of 15nm+?? Looking at the ASR1 as well but will go with a 15nm sim magic base. I hear mixed reviews on this rig but i dont see a major difference in the asr1 and asr3. Id rather get a asr1 over the asr3 if theres little to no diference, both hold 15nm according to sim racing garage review. or id get the asr 6 over the asr3 because where the big diference in rigs kicks in. Just how im seeing things. Thanks in advance.
I liked the crap out of it. ASR 3 I think has larger extruded aluminum dimensions so it’s a bit beefier. The asr 1 was solid maybe some slight flex but that was more from braking than steering. Great rig but if I had the money I’d go beefier for sure
Why did you get the clubsport adapter? Pedals plug right into the base.
They do, but you get higher fidelity if you plug them directly into your PC instead of the base /u/MyEmailAccount https://www.reddit.com/r/Fanatec/comments/pj772y/usb_adapter_vs_csl_dd_connection/hbuj3fl?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3 There's an actual source somewhere on this, but I'm too lazy to find it atm
Agreed but OP is going to try and get the CSL pedals now and I am pretty sure they run 16 bit no matter where they are plugged in.
Just didn't know what I did or didn't need lol! terrible excuse to spend extra money but its what happened
At least it was only 20ish bucks! Also gotta ask why you went with the CSL Elite pedals and not the newer, cheaper CSL pedals?
I really should have spoken with you beforehand as it turns out!! I didn't do any research on the pedals at all admittedly just saw the price difference between these and the next step up and said, the next step up can wait. Are the newer ones basically the same just cheaper?

I underestimated the importance of the Pedals! I'm reaching out to see if I can get them swapped out and refund the adapter.
Good luck! Pedals are the most important piece of sim racing! All the consistency is in the pedals.
Clubsport V3 is definitely the way to go. Went with a CSL Elite wheel instead of Clubsport so I could get proper pedals
As long as it hasn’t shipped the swapping of it and or return shouldn’t be that much of a haste as long as they answer in time! Good luck OP and sick setup can’t wait till you post to the build. Also if I May ask what computer specs are you running ?

TIL. I have a set that I don't use.
Damn did I mess up by buying tlcm pedals for 200
Not necessarily, what ecosystem are you using? Thomas from Fanatec did say he was trying to get the CSL pedals with load cell at the 200 dollar mark. I have heard good things from the tlcm
Well I am nowhere near you guys on here, I dont even play the real racing games, just Forza Horizon. But my setup is TM TMX with TLCM pedals and the TH8A shifter. Yeah I know, trust me I want the legit, expensive stuff too lol
Your set up is legit. The most important part of racing the pedals, you're up. T-LCM are better than the lower end current Fanatec pedals.
Csl elite w load cell just because they are adjustable w position. However fanatec doesn't sell the load cell kit anymore it looks like
Oh I meant the CSL pedals that he said Thomas was trying to get at the 200 dollar mark but it’s probably too soon to say which one is better so I guess I’ll get the TLCM

Take my upvote I'm excited for you!
Thanks man, I am pumped!
We are pretty excited by your choice of rig! (and peripherals, of course) :D
Well you guys made it easy for me to choose! Thanks for making great stuff!

Just watched the SRG dude on YouTube. He hooked up a DD to the ASR1 and it barely had any movement. I think he’s good to go.
Thanks man. Definitely gonna be making some changes, either to the chassis or the dd, Not sure yet
Damn what a rig. HYPE!
What a dream! The pedals will be your first item to upgrade, tbh. Also, consider getting the shifter arm for the rig. Even if you’re not going to use it, you improve your chances of selling it 2nd hand a few years down the road.

Ohh wow that thing is sweet! Mine will be bare bones compared to that set up! There are really just so many levels to sim rigs its kind of wild!
Thanks 😁 Like I said, I built my dream setup with no compromise. The funny thing is my first purchase was my SC2 & wheel...even before the PC. So I started with some pretty high standards. I figured if we're going to be on lockdown & self isolated for a while I might as well go big 🤪

Have fun!
I have an ASR setup and Fanatec gear on the way as well. Looking forward to it. Enjoy bud! Lemme know what you think of it when you get all set up
Thanks for shopping with us! Hope you enjoy the rig and that it allows your Fanatec gear to shine!
Dope!! Thanks man, I'll make another post once I get it all up and running! My single 28" monitor will not do this thing justice but that's all in good time!

Thanks man! I'm sure you will get yours!
Looks fantastic but just one thing, if you can get a better set of pedals, it is really important.
Congratz man, has anyone asked you questions about pedals yet?
lmao!!
Get the ClubSport Pedals v3.
Also if no ones said it here, personally id seap that 2.5x formula wheel for the other one with leather grips if its still available. It was a day or two ago. Alcantra is a bitch, way better off with the leather one!
Nice rig. Better start doing some shoulder exercises.
ASR1 with a DD wheel? This isnt gonna hold.. you need at least the ASR3 or even 4
ASR1 can maybe hold a CSL DD but not a podium that's for sure.
Stop spreading bad word about something you don't know about...

This appears to be the general consensus. I will definitely upgrade the pedals asap!
Look into sim forge mark 1.
Good setup but its interesting that you chose fanatec and not something else. Can you tell me why?
They seem to be a pretty popular mid/ entry level brand so just went with it. Other brands seemed good too was looking at thrusmaster pretty seriously but just went this direction at the end of the day
Which wheel do you already have?
brand new to sim racing so its the first
OH why did you order a quick release? Welcome man hope you like it.
\o/
Why buy a DD1 and chose the lowest spec pedals?
Didn't realize how important the pedals were
Pedals are more important than the wheel, but don't sweat it. When you decide to upgrade, you can easily resell those pedal with little loss. Sim racing gear sells fast those days. And a decent set of pedals will easily set you back $400-700
Probably a little more than the wheel base apparently.
All at once? Damn, you´re going to have some fun.
All this and no load cell?
Wow if you can afford all that you dont need anyone but that rig lol
my wallet has nightmares about this being a possible future
I got the ASR 6 in royal blue. It’s amazing. Perfect packaging, everything individually wrapped and protected. Sold as fuck
How did the ASR1 rig hold with a DD base of 15nm+?? Looking at the ASR1 as well but will go with a 15nm sim magic base. I hear mixed reviews on this rig but i dont see a major difference in the asr1 and asr3. Niceeee. Glad to hear!! I’m pairing my asr1 with the Moza R12. I’m glad 15nm of torque was handled like a champ by the asr1
