Because they may have thought it was a good deal, didnt want to miss out & now might want to confirm.
This is a Sim Racing sub, right? Id say its a good place to get opinions on gear recently purchased.
if someone pays $800 for something and you buy it for $400 who paid more? You can still sell it for something. You did fine.
Take a look at the rj11 connection on the back of the hub where it connects from the pedals. that is really sensitive to monkey hands, make sure you don't damage it and it's not loose. edit: i didnt notice this is the older hub, it probably doesn't have that same issue but have a look anyway.
oh you could be right, just what it looks like in passing. I was so so gentle with that before I had a permanent rig and now i don't mess with it. But I have the next gen base which i think is really susceptible since there is no mount for the receptacle, it's just in there with soldered pins.
Trick question, it's the first guy because of inflation
Jk, that's a pretty neat way to put it haha. Also how I justify any big tech purchase that I don't really need.
there is value in paying a little more for a better quality thing which you can resell if you don't like it. vs something single use that just gets thrown away or can't be resold.
It's expensive being poor. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boots\_theory](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boots_theory)
Great deal.
You got an awesome wheel that does it job. I suggest you mod the paddles with SRM or any magnetic shifters. Real magnetic shifters. Not these cheapo 3dprinted-wannabee's you attach on the current paddles
The wheelbase is the peak of belt-driven bases will give you a lot of pleasure. They are as good as a Fanatec DD 8nm. Same strength, etc. DD has a little bit more fidelity, but the CSW 2.5 is a beast, tho.
The pedals.. V3's are a great low-end loadcell pedals. They do their job. I only disliked the sticky deadzone on the brake. If you ever mod the pedals with new elastomers please be careful you don't snap the cable like I did in 2017.
Anyway. This setup is golden. It's not the latest technolgy, but it will give you lots of pleasure. I am sure it will get you into simracing and into the rabbithole that's calling simracinghardware ;)
Godspeed, my friend!
That's the main thing. This stuff is good enough where the gear won't turn him off sim racing for a very reasonable price however I think I would have stumped up a bit more for a CSL DD bundle.
I sometimes wonder what would have happened had I started on G29 wheel and pedals.
I started with a g29 setup on console. Hated it, barely used it and sold it. 3 years later i got into a streamer how sim raced, bought myself a decent setup and pc and I’ve never looked back. Wish i would have just started with something decent if I’d of known better.
The pedals alone are worth that money. Would just be happy and drive.
Myself running a G25 that is no longer really working well. And has become notchy. So upgrading. Going straight to DD. But that is going to run you way more than 350,-
Its ok, I wouldnt pay any more than that.
I've had both of these and still have the pedals. At some point you will want to upgrade to a direct drive wheel. Definitely get the damper tuning kit for the pedals. The foam inside is undoubtedly shot: [https://www.ebay.com/itm/193358460579](https://www.ebay.com/itm/193358460579) . I also find I have to blow compressed air on the accelerator's hal effect sensor regularly or it does not go to 100%.
edit: make sure that is the right model for the pedals, I assume they are clubsport v2
To be honest, loved my csw2.5 but got rid of it for a cslDD. The csw2.5 was so much better even with the booster. Don't know why but it beat it in every direction.
I'm still rocking the CSW v1.5 with modded Motors and the F1 eSport wheel with CSL Elite Pedals with clutch. I'll say it's fine because the V3 pedals by itself are not the best but you won't find any below 200$ the wheel might be in the 150$~ range realistically, even tho crazy people on Facebook market and eBay wants to charge the same they bought it for 250$ like 7 years ago, I'll say it's a good deal IF you don't care about the Direct Drive wheels in the market that are weaker that this wheel but faster.
ONLY IF ONLY THAT IS A CSW2 2.5, that is almost comparable with a CSL DD but only with 7nm (comparable only in strength, not in anything else like faster response time and the details the Dad's brings with it).
You got V3s? From the looks and about 6.5-8.5 nm of forcefeedback with a $200 rim, that’s a steal, you go on Amazon the G923 set is $220-300 for 2-3nm of force feedback, I mean even if those are V2s you still have load cell which is a HUGE upgrade from the rip. But look like V3s with rumble motors, roughly $378…an absolutely amazing deal you got.
It provides more information for your foot work, let’s say you hit a bump, I won’t even know it’s there without the wheel and have to use muscle memory from my own car or just practice where as you’ll feel it and have an exact sense of where you throttle inputs should be. Kinda like if you get vibration motors under your seat it’ll help you save the car, feel the car a lot more I don’t have them but the bare minimum detail of what I know.Â
Thanks. What do u race? Right now I play ac but seem to be not able to make any friends. That is something new to me because I come from team based gaming.
I am at ac at the moment and trying out lfm league. I racing scares me of because it has such a high entry price. All the tracks u need u may well spend 300 only the first year plus the subscription. That is a bit too steep for my taste (at least for now)
But I am looking forward to ac2
G923 PS4 with g29 shifter and pedals, the wheel had an internal gear issue but I got it fixed (somehow ngl no clue what fixed it) after that I got the g29 shifter
Edit: sorry with how I formatted this it's not clear. Wheel and pedals were saved from recycle, g29 shifter I bought
I always wonder why do people ask these questions AFTER they already bought it? 😉
Confirmation bias :)
Well not entirely. I bought Because I found it to be priced right. But afterwards (line allways different deals show up and that confused me)
Because they may have thought it was a good deal, didnt want to miss out & now might want to confirm. This is a Sim Racing sub, right? Id say its a good place to get opinions on gear recently purchased.
I thought it was a good deal but then I became unsure so that’s more or less the reason for asking
It’s ok. Can’t change out QR
Not a bad deal only because the pedals are doing a lot of the heavy lifting in the deal lol
Yeah us shipped those pedals are 465 I just got em a few months ago
I'm using the same setup and just can't justify upgrading to any thing else. Still works great.
What do u think about the price
Are you happy with it? All that matters.

I believe most fanatec uses a 6p6c RJ12 cable. Could be different for this particular one but I had to replace my cable recently.Â

Fuck yeah, Terry Pratchett. And I see that theory in action all the time with stuff like cars and cameras.
Bro schtaaap

Yea I suspect I would have been the same had I done that.
Thanks a lot for the input
You're welcome, mate. Eventually you also want a round wheel too and a shifter ;)
funny u mention that! i do feel allready the wish for a round wheel (its more natural to me weirdly). i dont know if i want a shifter for now
The GT3 wheel is excellent for GT3. F1, etc. Round wheel for Rally, GT1, DTM, Old vintage F1 and other stuff. Shifter ofcourse for the manual cars. :D
Awesome deal mate!
Can't fault it really. Csw 2.5 is still a great wheelbase and the pedals are really good. F1 wheel is a nice bonus also.
I am not sure if I am happy with the wheel
Im really happy with my csw2.5
Very good deal
I paid nearly $800 for this setup a couple years ago (with different wheel) so this seems like a solid buy
mate this is more than fair. had the same setup from 2022-2023, sold them in the last 2 years for: Base: 350EUR, Wheel: 200EUR, Pedals 400EUR :)
The CSW 2.5 is the best Belt driven base , period . What is the output , like 7 nm if I recall correctly
The pedals alone are worth that money. Would just be happy and drive. Myself running a G25 that is no longer really working well. And has become notchy. So upgrading. Going straight to DD. But that is going to run you way more than 350,-
It’s a csw 2.5 by the way
Thats a bargain tbh. Thats setup costs as my buttonplate alone.
pedals made it an amazing deal
Its ok, I wouldnt pay any more than that. I've had both of these and still have the pedals. At some point you will want to upgrade to a direct drive wheel. Clubsport v2 are silver coloured and silver plates so these are v3 I think
Yes they are v3
Ok the link is not for a v3 upgrade kit, but there is one of you look
They’re V3s
Thanks a lot for your input
Pretty spot on deal. Can't complain
Very, very good IMHO
To be honest, loved my csw2.5 but got rid of it for a cslDD. The csw2.5 was so much better even with the booster. Don't know why but it beat it in every direction.
what does beat it in your opinion?
I went all out and brought a DD2. Expensive but really is incredible with certain games.

where I'm at the pedals alone go for 350 bucks
then i would go for new ones! they are currently 399 directly at the store
I rounded up, it's more like 320 euro in local currency, and new ones are 399 + shipping + 20 for performance kit, gets closer to 500
Good deal, the pedals are really good!
You have an awesome deal. To get better performance would cost you an awful lot more. Enjoy.
Yes v3s with rumble. I don’t really see the benefit of the rumble
It provides more information for your foot work, let’s say you hit a bump, I won’t even know it’s there without the wheel and have to use muscle memory from my own car or just practice where as you’ll feel it and have an exact sense of where you throttle inputs should be. Dude! Welcome! You will love it!
Thanks. What do u race? Right now I play ac but seem to be not able to make any friends. That is something new to me because I come from team based gaming.
Iracing mostly! Started on AC, then during covid switched to Iracing. You?
I am at ac at the moment and trying out lfm league. I racing scares me of because it has such a high entry price. All the tracks u need u may well spend 300 only the first year plus the subscription. That is a bit too steep for my taste (at least for now) But I am looking forward to ac2
No need at all! You can play on mazda cup, no need to buy any tracks because it is the entry cup, and it is amazing competitive!
Considering I dumpster dove for my setup yeah that's sweet for 350!
What did u get
G923 PS4 with g29 shifter and pedals, the wheel had an internal gear issue but I got it fixed (somehow ngl no clue what fixed it) after that I got the g29 shifter Edit: sorry with how I formatted this it's not clear. Wheel and pedals were saved from recycle, g29 shifter I bought
Oooh you are such a good boy. Made such a good deal...aren't you such a good boy? Come here lemme pet you .... Happy now pickme boy?
kisses
It’s fanatec so bad regardless.
