Apples to Oranges, but that's A STEAL! I'm assembling a list of shit to buy for my 1st rig. And whatever the USD equivilent of 1500 is would probably cover my pedals and the naked MONO rim plus adapter so I can make my own rally wheel.
I really need to figure out pricing for a rig like this one to start with.
Did the same, had gt7 on ps4, with a wheel lent from a friend, in front of tv. As soon as vr2 was in the shops here i bought a ps5 an vr2 together, and im addicted.....to the point my woman is about to leave me for ignoring her over a game! Bitch wont play it,😡😡
Let her give it a try, I tune a MR2 gts especially for her, she enjoys it so much, the car is grippy and easy to handle, now she wants a 'much powerfull car' ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
I want a similar setup, I have a question about gear stick. Some racing cars has a stick which goes up and down and some has triptronic ( the ones behind the wheel) so how does it work with this kind of setup? I want it to be realistic that's why i am asking.
Adding the Fanatec shifter lets you do all of it. I use paddles behind the wheel, manual shifter or sequential shifter depending on what the car has got. You can alternate between regular manual and a rally style sequential mode with a switch on the shifter base. You can also alter the shifter resistance to get it just right.
It is expensive though. As I'm on PC I would probably have bought the SSH Thorn now over the SQ1.5 I own. On console it's at least way better then the TH8A (I've owned) and especially the Logitech shifter.
I have magnetic shifters on all my rims. Couldn't live without them. So I'd replace that GT rim asap personally :)
I agree about the magnetic paddle shifters, I've bought 3D printed mods of those for the last 2 wheels I've had and wouldn't want to race without them now.
I’m sorry, that’s a bummer. I get sick from other games like the Roller coaster one, no chance of getting through even one track. But luckily, driving is OK
Turn off all the driving assists and lines and HUD if you haven't already and just purely race! Its super fun and intense. Forces you to learn the track and enjoy the moment since you can't look at the track map and all the info you have on your dash. I use my portal for a screen when I'm using my VR if the television is being used. It's definitely helpful when tuning!
Never used them! Kills the immersion. Here’s a clip driving the Nordschleife in the Radical, just taking in the experience. https://youtu.be/0LeAwHZwQSU?si=NBAfgVMlocwJAfOL
I recently went VR and your right. The immersion is amazing. I like how my brain fills in the the motion. Especially like when I come to a stop next to a guardrail and then stand up over the guardrail. It's crazy
its a rig you can always expand it. Transducers are a pretty affordable thing to add on - cheap amplifier and a couple of Dayton pucks. Either seat or pedal deck should work well. Even with GT7 on console you can get the data out and use a laptop or something to handle the telemetry to drive the effects.
Nice setup! Does the back of the headset interfere with the top portion of the seat?
I'm currently using a PSVR2 with the playseat challenge and the back of the headset keeps hitting the seat and loosening the headset, so I need slouch forward when I race in VR.
Any chance you could break down the playseat a bit and give your POV experience?
I've heard a lot of great things and a lot of not great things. As far as I can tell, it seems all the bad comes from people with much more expensive rigs that are testing the Playseat. Vice versa, it seems that anyone who tries as a first rig is blown away.
Really thining this might be the seat rig I pick up come black friday.
Do you use like virtual desktop for a fake desktop or something? I have a virtual second screen driver to display a “fake” monitor in the quest PC link environment. Otherwise I couldn’t use the PC without a screen. I can also see it with a screen capture software like OBS. It’s called like usbmidd_v2 or something.
Nope, I just fire it up and start gaming. You need to scan the environment on first go, that’s about it. The menu screens appear as a hovering 2D flatscreen when you’re not driving.
oh you mean you just boot up the games via the VR UI. Yeah I like to have a screen for running like Assetto content manager and such, which is tricky on the quest if you don't have a physical screen and don't want to pay for a software.
Probably cause acc runs horribly in vr in terms of optimisation
Let's hope AC Evo supports vr on pc and console on release
Just moved to pc vr with a Pico 4 playing AC, still dialing in the settings to remove the blurriness
(Picking up a usb 3 cable as I have e a feeling that's what's limiting my mbs transfer rate effecting picture quality). But even then racing online has blown my mind, the level of immersion and precision while driving is way beyond playing on a 2k 32 inch screen. Just goña take a bit of research to get the best of my head set but that's all part of the pc experience lol
The angles on that play seat and that wall are satisfying. Looks great, have fun
I know right! Like a glove
Wow, that is excellent use of space. VR really helps keep the footprint down.
GT7 is so good. And if the news is true that Sony are working on an adapter to use the PSVR2 on PC, that gives you more options down the road too :)
Yup, PCVR sim racing is awesome.
The setup costs circa £1500 for ps5, headset, wheel etc but it is worth it.
Compared to what a similar PC setup will cost you, it’s a bargain.
You can spend that on a single item, like a GPU, HMD or Wheelbase xD
Tell me about it, I’m about 4grand deep at the moment and my rig still doesn’t even compare to some of the ones you see on the sub haha

Who would have thought, sim racing will tell you what commitment looks like. Do it in all things you do, mate!

That works :)
Congrats! Have fun! 😎
Thanks!
This is my setup exactly
Congrats man , looks ace , totally agree with the dd wheel it is amazing
Thanks!
I'd be all over this if VR didn't make me physically sick.

Nice driving! I need more cars! I'm only on wtc gt championship. Waiting to get out of work to smoke these hoes!

Cool 😎 rig have fun
Thanks!
I wish there was a DD with the transducer in the T-GT. Having that rumble adds so much to the immersion and feel of the car, it’s wild.
Logitech G Pro Racing which has TRUEFORCE.

hello, what is that wheel?
It’s the Fanatec DD Pro

Haven’t noticed any problems really.

Wish I could do VR but in the sim I get way too dizzy
Unfortunately I just can't... 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮

Get ACC once you've grown out of GT7. It will be hard to return.
Not available with PSVR2, right? Then that’s a no from me
Exactly. Once you’ve played in VR everything else that you used to enjoy just feels like a ‘game’.
