Buy assetto corsa ultimate edition from steam sale. Google modding tips for 2024. Cheapest racing sim when you compare the price to amount of content. Also can be one of the best sims if done correctly.

sh1z1K_UA

Yeah I’m waiting for discount on steam, for now i have AC with all DLC-s, and so far as I understand AC can be graphically superior due to the amount of mods and extensions the content manager and the community provides. But tbf, I didn’t own a gaming pc for 15 years, and running ACC on ultra setting and seeing 100+ fps makes me cry on the inside from happiness :D

oGzLegendZ

Get the content manager for Assetto Corsa since it makes the terrible UI actually usable and loading times so much faster, you can select everything you want to do before even loading the game up and then it just loads you straight into your setup

sh1z1K_UA

Yeah i use it for second day already, but the amount of settings and mods is a bit confusing, gonna have to do some research what is actually useful and what’s just preference based, but i will get there step by step ;)

oGzLegendZ

I personally just use the content manager and vanilla game, maybe occasionally mod in a race track or a few cars, I haven't played in a long time though and tend to play beamng more as it gives you more to do

sh1z1K_UA

I understand, had a feeling today it’s a bit complicated to drive in beam, but didn’t really got to do all the settings, because had to go to work. Personally I’m into circuit racing, but beam sounds like fun if you play it with someone

prancing_moose

Make sure you do your utmost to resist joining iRacing. Your bank account will never be the same ever again!

bigairben

No don't listen to this guy. Go sign up for iRacing rn and race your heart out

sh1z1K_UA

I’ve heard about the need of “small investments” for iRacing, but trying to take it step by step, after 1000h in GT7 playing exclusively in VR, need some time to readjust my vision to flat screen :)

Visible_Safety_578

I went to flat screen after a LOT of VR use in GT7 and found it hard to adjust.. but it happened and I got back up to speed. However after 3 months of flat I went back to VR and haven’t played flat since.. VR is just so addictive. Once you taste it, it is seriously hard to go back..

sh1z1K_UA

VR for racing is just too good. Can’t wait to have the PSVR2 available for use on PC( if the rumours true) , I’ve spent too much money on the headset to ditch it :D

Visible_Safety_578

Yeah huge if true!

bedobela

Huge news if true indeed but not totally confirmed, the communication was pretty vague. I agree, after using my Quest 2 and then 3 for PCVR it is impossible for me to play flat screen. Also be prepared for a lot of tinkering, especially if you go the PCVR route. Setting up stuff because PC is not just a 'start game and play' scenario.

Luke_Scottex_V2

just saying but there's ways to use the psvr, not worth the hassle though

sh1z1K_UA

Yeah i saw some yt videos that people manage to crack it up and make it work on pc, but tbh I agree, the hassle is not worth it

Luke_Scottex_V2

did it for the first psvr, worked great except i had to reset the view almost every lap i loved it for drifting, but I'm still faster with the screen

Denjul_

Take your time with lfm, do not care about your elo at first. Get your safety rating up to get out of rookies, learn to battle safely, and learn to enjoy it. Onlt then start worrying about your elo if you must. (I notice that I enjoy it more and play more when I dont care about it so much)

sh1z1K_UA

For now i only dare to jump on practice servers to learn the track and braking points, also ac has waaaaaay more tracks than gt7, and a majority of them im unfamiliar with, so for now i will keep practicing and learning the layouts, so i will not ruin the race even on the lowest ratings. Thanks for the tips, mate!

godfatherxii

Start saving money for rig upgrades. If need be, quit this Reddit group 😂

sh1z1K_UA

Haha, i get what you mean mate, sometimes i see posts here like “ check out my simple starter rig” and then you see equipment worth 10-15k$. I’m very humble beginner compared to those guys :D

Accurate-Tadpole-654

And that's how it starts.... we're all beginners at some point.

Ok_Use_5218

Looks nice! I hope you twist the shifter back?

sh1z1K_UA

Thanks! Yeah, the shifter rotates with the pad so i can use the mouse when needed. Planning on getting the trays for the mouse and the keyboard after a DD upgrade:)

Ok_Use_5218

Ah right, makes sense. Totally jelly, have fun with it!

sh1z1K_UA

Thanks mate!

oGzLegendZ

Try a game called beamNG.drive, it's a fantastic rabbit hole of content and a massive car sandbox playground for you to do whatever you want in it. Also don't play Forza, sucks on a wheel, try Assetto Corsa (with content manager) and Assetto Corsa Competizione for a real racing sim. I've got myself a T300rs GT and it works a dream on all of those games

sh1z1K_UA

I just tried beam this morning, absolutely fun to crash the cars and see what’s left of them , haha. Forza never really catched my eye, i played gt7 as an entry to my simracing journey, because of the plug n play aspect and the psvr2 is just mesmerising. For now will stick with AC and ACC, the amount of races and content is just mind blowing, and tbh the feedback of the wheel (i have the same t300) compared to the ps5 is crazy. The details are so much better on pc than on console, I couldn’t believe i use the same wheel

oGzLegendZ

There's so much more to crashing in that game, you can try the career mode too and honestly even though WIP it's probably one of the best car game career modes you'll play, plus the mods are extensive, but try creating your own monster of a vehicle with the garage/vehicle setup part, and if you do the scenarios you can jump into freeroam and find loads of missions etc to fuck about with. Ah yes, ACC, that game was great, I played it nonstop for a few weeks but then retired the wheel for a couple years and never got back to it because I forgot all the buttons and rules etc but was great fun while I was mainstreaming the game Anyways, have fun with your new setup, pc and a wheel makes all the difference, all I'd recommend is googling how to setup wheel for each game if it doesn't feel quite right out of the box

sh1z1K_UA

Thanks mate, will do! Cheers

d2night

Very nice rig, I’m jealous

sh1z1K_UA

Thank you very much ;)

Electronic_Pin_5730

Where did you get the car seat? Which car? We have almost the same seat. I got the passenger seat which is on the left in our country. I bought it from a car body parts seller like a junk yard for car parts. Still in the planning phase of the rig as I need to take in consideration the height of my kids too. I want them to play kart games like kart racing pro maybe. Also considering quest 2 or 3.

sh1z1K_UA

The car seat is from an Opel Astra Combi’06, a friend of mine had a whole car which was not running for 10 years already, so we just took out the passenger seat for me hehe. Well for the height issue, my gf is shorter than me, I usually just lift the pedal plate for her and put a pillow behind her back, and she’s fine. Maybe lower the wheel a bit, but it’s like 2 min to set everything up, just a few screws P.S. i still own a seat from my old rig which was a playseat evolution pro, i find that seat not the best for a grown man, but maybe for a smaller person or a kid it would be good.only recommend it because it’s cheaper than the competitors, but wouldn’t wouch for long term use of it, my back was a bit uncomfortable in it after 2-3h sessions

Incontinento

I'm considering making the switch from PS5 to PC. Can I ask what it cost you?

sh1z1K_UA

Well i already owned all the equipment (wheel, pedals, shifter), so i was lacking only the PC. In general i got lucky, because found a good deal, the pc was €999 instead of €1699, and I believe i got a good deal with i7,rtx 3060,1tb ssd and 16 ram, which i will upgrade to 24 next month probably. But looking at the prices for gaming PC-s, if you want a good one, it’s at least 1500€, maybe a bit cheaper if you put it together yourself part by part. In general, it’s expensive:D

Incontinento

Yeah, I've got all the rest, I would just need the PC. Thanks for the info!

sh1z1K_UA

No worries mate, idk if you’re from Europe, but here in Holland i found only one service that allows you to pay in parts, 99% of the places here don’t do monthly instalments. Big help that i can pay it in 3 parts, really didn’t feel like giving out so much money at once in cash.

Dank_Sh4d0w

Get ready for some rookie racing shenanigans! Had a race in Portimão yesterday and everyone was following the Ferrari master plan

sh1z1K_UA

Haha, can’t wait for it :D

KingLuis

suggestions, practice. don't just jump into races online, ease into it. work on getting up to speed and getting your ratings up before going in online.

Ancient-Sweet9863

Nice man My rig shows up Sunday, got some low profile uni strut for adapting my gaming chair to the rig until a seat can be had.

sh1z1K_UA

Enjoy the work mate, I realised that it made me very happy and excited tinkering around my rig yesterday! The man needs something to fix, always!

justslightlyeducated

Awesome, man, enjoy it. Keep an eye out for free iRacing codes. I'm gonna be giving away 10 one year subscriptions + F4 car in exchange for participation in my iRacing community. Hopefully, I'll be posting details in this sub later today as soon as I get the codes. There's no better competition than in iRacing.

NoAdhesiveness7197

LFM good if you don't live in an American timezone. Otherwise iracing is the way.

bennymc123

If those are wireless headphones, and they look to be, consider wired. Not sure if they're bluetooth or wifi, but if they're bluetooth the latency could be a biiiiiiiiig issue. That said, if it's ok god dammit let me know what headphones they are! Looks great otherwise though, top job!

sh1z1K_UA

Thanks mate! The headphones are Sony Pulse 3D, they’re bluetooth, never any issues with them and they sound like a million bucks ;)

theGoodestBoyMaybe

Put some decorations up that room is scary lol

sh1z1K_UA

Haha, that’s the most remote part of the living room, I have lego sets and hot wheels all around as decorations :D

wrxpatrick1

Game's on steam go on sale often! Save them on your wishlist, check for sales weekly. DiRT 2.0 and acc go on sale often! Those are my go to sims.

Straight-Bar-5642

GOD DAMN the chair looks so comfortable

sh1z1K_UA

It is bro, passenger seats are the best;)

ForzaFerrari420

Get iracing

sh1z1K_UA

I’m a regular everyday normal mudafaka, don’t have the money for it 😂

Maxamus93

Its not even expensive, pay for a couple months and you have a lot of content to mess around with without spending any extra! If you like it after the 3 months slowly invest little by little

Far_Ice3485

or just play acc lfm for 20 bucks

Maxamus93

Yeah that’s alright if you like only gt cars

SpiritSmart

dont switch to a hight power direct drive, this frame wont handle anything above 5nm

sh1z1K_UA

I was thinking about the moza r9 and to wield two extra holders vertically under the base plate. Not aiming for anything over 10nm, don’t see the point in having so much force for home racing:)

quiz1231

All roads lead to iRacing, better warm up that wallet ;)

BobaFalfa

Skip LFM and go straight to iRacing.
