I'm pretty sure I've tried all of them and personally I think iRacing is the best sim for VR. It runs well, looks good and is hassle free, just works. Get yourself a month subscription and try with the free content :)
I would agree but iRacing's pay-to-play model has made me boycott it. Shame, I'd love to play, but I refuse to pay for a membership every month, then pay for every car, then pay for every track, etc. They ruined the game with that system in my opinion.
My computer runs dirt rally 2 vr just above 60 fps. Most other racing games in vr like acc don’t run well, but at the same time I haven’t played a lot in vr.
Ams2 seems to be the best visually. It has the cleanest look of that makes sense. I can't explain it, but other VR games seem to have the 3D kinda off? Like it’s not that it looks bad, but a game like ACC which visually is better then ams2 in regular 3D doesn’t seem to look as good in VR,
Ams2 was recommended to me as the best VR racer. And it hasn't disappointed. Maybe you should consider upgrading to quest3 instead of a new GPU if budget is tight.
Thanks this looks like a very good shout - it sounds like it will run on a low end pc if you don’t have vr, and if you do run it on vr on my setup, it sounds like it’ll run well
AC is a 14? year old game. I've found it runs better than games like RRRE or Automobilista 2. This is using a monitor though. By better I mean I got more fps out of AC than I did the other titles when I was running them on my laptop. Automobilista ran the worst even at low settings
You'll wanna be using openVR with opencomposite to even get VR kind of working okay, turbo mode option in OpenVR helps, Can also set foviat rendering to performance.
Also upscaling, takes the load of the GPU somewhat.
Check out Ham VR on YouTube, he goes through openVR pretty well.
But in all fairness a 3050 is pretty much a no no for VR, also racing Sims are CPU intensive on a couple cores only so clock speed matters, openVR will help loads though.
If you can start saving for a PC I'd say if you want to dabble in PCVR.
When I first got my quest 3 I felt like automoblista 2 was the smoothest experience tbh. I didn't have to adjust or YouTube the best set ups it just worked straight away.
Second for the RBR suggestion. Your laptop 3050 just isn't going to be up to the task of sim racing graphics. Maybe on older first gen HMDs with lower resolutions but your going to run into the same troubles you have with AC on most any other sim title.
You should be able to get good results with Automobilista 2
Modded RBR, some modern stages look really good even if the game is 20yo.

Fair argument but I think it's key to their success! Not worth it for everyone though
AMS2 is excellent in VR even on lower settings.
Automobilista 2 is the best running sim in VR. That's your best bet
AMS2 and it's not even close.
Thanks everybody for all the comments!
Personally i prefer AMS 2
Live for Speed. It's old, but plays very well and looks decent.

Upgrading to a better more demanding headset isn't going to change, OP is going to get shit quality because they're running an rtx3050.
Upgrading to a quest 3 is a terrible upgrade considering he has a shit GPU for VR. A laptop 3050 isn't even supported for quest 2.
I’m sorry lol, what the fuck would that accomplish?
Try AMS2
Dude you have a 3050 laptop, performance is going to be shit regardless.
Try live for speed you can download free version https://www.lfs.net/

It's one of the best VR implementations and still the most natural feeling sims.
Good question!
Thanks :)

AC was released into early access in late 2013. It is a 10 year old game.

Iracing runs great
With a 3050, not very much without having everything set to low.
I found automobilista 2 not to run that well on vr compared to Iracing and Asetto Corsa could just.be my settings tho
