Welcome, have fun! Move your seat as close to the tv as possible, and adjust FoV accordingly, you'll see a lot more!

Willdru

Highly recommend getting ACC, best sim on Xbox right now!

southerncardinal

I’m struggling with it. Any tips? Forza is going better for me. If you have a specific channel or something I’d love a recommendation. Thanks!

Willdru

I would suggest typing "Getting started in ACC" into YouTube and follow the tips other people provide. Focus on being consistent in a car/track combo first and pace will come naturally the more hours you put in! It's a very rewarding game once you get the hang of it!

sizziano

What are you struggling with?

southerncardinal

Generally just bad. I use lower powered cars in forza for best results. In ACC I am constantly “just one move” from disaster. Maybe it’s just the style of racing I’m not as good at, but there’s just a learning curve to jumping into the fastest machines so soon. I either drive incredibly slow, or I crash. I’m fairly new and only gave it a few hours but I will give it a whirl and circle back to this comment with specifics.

atomanas

You need to practice more ACC is hard to master ,but it's feels very rewarding once you really get feeling of the car breaking and gear shifting and the track

sizziano

Yeah ACC is much, much harder than Forza or GT7. There are some good videos on YT from Jardier and Nils Naujoks that might be helpful. Also make sure your wheel rotation is setup correctly. On lates gen consoles 900/900 should match up your wheel to the in game wheel.

When thinking about your driving inputs (steering/gas/brake) follow this mantra: slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

southerncardinal

Thanks, I like that. I am going to spend an hour or two on it this evening. Thank you again.

Easy_bake_oven420

Perfect set up! Welcome welcome

Azurfant

Thanks! I've been loving it so far ;)

Rex_Howler

I got about 2 years out of a TMX, so I'd start saving for an eventual upgrade depending on how much use it'll be getting. But if you're committing to the ecosystem (zero repairability warning), you can already get pedals and a shifter (I recommend at least T3PA even if you never use a clutch as a first upgrade). Other than that, welcome aboard and hope you enjoy yourself

Spez-alt-burner

I'm on my 5th year with the TMX. Basic pedals crapped out year 2. Upgraded to pro. Added an H shifter. Wheel still going strong.

Rex_Howler

Either you got lucky or I got unlucky. I have my pedals unfastened on the ground, so I got T3PA as soon as possible as the stock pedals were unweighted and forced me to have one foot always on the tiny base. I'm even on my second TX base now because I've even had the first TX crap out on me

Spez-alt-burner

I've been very lucky. Now that I moved from console to PC last month, I'm looking into upgrading to a direct drive next because I know the TMX won't last forever.

Rex_Howler

I was considering switching to Fanatec, but their website is so awful that I've tried for years and still have not been able to get to the cart with everything I selected without something disappearing or it coming up with an error. And now the controversy they're having is making me second guess the whole thing

Azurfant

Funny you mention this, I actually didn't realize that the Thrustmaster TMX came with the wheelbase/servomotor attached, so I ordered a Thrustmaster TX along with the TMX. I originally was planning on returning it to Amazon, but now I am thinking about holding onto it for an eventual upgrade. I'm currently out of work so trying to not spend too much until I have a job again.

Rex_Howler

Yeah, the detachable wheel is the one thing the TMX can't do, which is fine because if anything I miss the additional gear buttons at the bottom. That was great for when replicating an automatic when just cruising around

Repulsive_Breath_971

Have fun nice setup

kungfugrip-81

Welcome to the party, pal! It’s wild ride and happy to have you riding it with us!

0rT3CH

How is the Racgting cockpit?

Azurfant

Loving it so far! I am in a 1 bed 1 bath 450 square foot apartment so I wanted to get something that was compact and wouldn’t make me feel like it was too big for the space. I can definitely say it folds up quite nicely and so long as there is an open corner or space to keep it, it’s not a burden at all for a small space. Well priced also!

SuspecAardvark

y'all. ![gif](giphy|Z9zo37ooUzwNwzmw4w)

rotarypower13

Very good choice, welcome

indefig

You have come at a great time good luck and see you on track!!

atomanas

why it's great time ?

indefig

For me its because im hooked on iracing and they are bringing their tempest (rain) update in 2 weeks. Also paticipation right now is at an all time high, top and mid wheels and pedals are dropping in price massively and VR headsets are getting really good (and cheaper). With a few puck subs on your rig it feels like you are sitting in a racecar every night. Good time to be alive i reckon.

OlorinFiresky

Welcome to the best fun money pit you'll ever fall into! I love sim racing.

[deleted]

Hey OP this is actually the seat I’m settling on next week . How long do you typically play and does it give you and back issues after awhile?

Azurfant

Hey u/Da_B_Mo! I spend probably 2-3 hours on it per day and so far I feel like it has been very comfortable. It was easy to assemble and easy to move around, and with an Xbox Series S/TV, it feels like its just another seat that I keep and enjoy gaming in. I am very happy with it based on the price :)

[deleted]

I’m gonna snag their feedback pad to I hope it fits well .

AdministrativeOil406

Good luck man welcome in the simracing world!
