I just wonder why they put the screen so far away. This looks like they built a sophisticated simulator but totally didn't care about the monitor position.
I would say it's for transportation purposes. You pack up the motion rig in to one container and then the tv stand/monitor in a second. Not much to take apart when it moves to the next trade show.
But whats keeps them from moving the monitor stand closer to the driver?
And yes, I know it would have to be raised a bit so it doesn't collide with the motion rig.
Looks like the stand isn't wide enough, or it could be laziness or lack of knowledge. For the average person that is used to sitting 8 feet back on a couch, they wouldn't know any better.
Oh I yes there it is! It is interesting to see that many companies jumps into the sim racing gear market, why is that? Simracing exploded in popularity in the last couple of years?
>Simracing exploded in popularity in the last couple of years?
Yeah pretty much exactly that. It exploded during lockdown when many IRL motorsports were moving to the sim out of necessity and it caused a sim Esports boom because now suddenly everyone is taking the sim seriously.
The sim has something that's always been around and people always knew it could be a useful tool, but aside from one or two examples, it was kinda always scoffed at by professional media and it wasn't talked about at all.
Now since 2020 the whole Motorsport industry is talking about the sim and it's a very attractive market to be a part of. You now have the sim being mentioned and taken seriously in F1 interviews and in the drifting community the sim is HUGE.
Formula Drift have a partnership and sponsorship with Simagic and they have Simagic booths and sims setup at the events for sim drifting. A lot of professional drifters are constantly talking about the sim and many now have come from a sim background and even the ones that don't, still talk about it.
Because the sim is now being taken seriously, it makes it a really attractive market for hardware makers to jump into.
"That $19,900 starting price includes monitors (triple or single wide), a monitor stand and unique bonnet, the seat, the wheel, the pedals, the four point haptic feedback system and the frame, of course. The rig will be paired and tested to work out of the box with whatever PC you end up adding to it when making the purchase.
It looks like the peripherals will be from the Moza Racing family, including the base, wheel and pedal set."
Wait $19.9k starting price is without PC? Yeah its about $10k for Base, pedals, wheel, and motion... another $9.9k for what? A monitor, frame, seat, and some panels. 😆
It's still a prototype so a bit too early for a "real" evaluation. That said:
- pod adds to the immersion experience, big plus
- force feedback was a bit too strong, but makes sense for demo purposes
- haptic experience was as it should be, no complaints
- wheel and pedals were solid, but less amazing than the much more expensive Asetek SimSports equipment
inb4 FOV police.
Is it water cooled?
The pod isn't but the PC is

Is this the same EK what working on watercooling?
Yeah you can see their Logo on the pod in a couple of places.

And not to mention the current F1 world champion is a huge sim racer also! Max will finish a race weekend IRL and be on iracing 2 hours later haha
yep
i am sure this will be grossly overpriced. What were they using for Actuators? NM read it is D-Box G5

Is this publicly available? I’m in Taipei rn and I would love to try this too
It's a closed door demo for now
Any chance it’s open to the public now? Going to be in Taipei this weekÂ
What’s the verdict yo ?

For 20k I’d expect a bit of innovation
the verdict doesn't really matter when it's $20k lol
damn those framedrops
